Turn the passenger wheel all the way to the left and remove the front part of the inner fender liner. 1-10mm nut and 4 plastic push pins. Pull the inner fender liner back and you have much more room. The job takes about 15 minutes going in this way.
Mine has plastic rivets instead of push pins which is why I avoided that method haha. I hate those things and don’t have replacement rivets or plastic rivet tool.
We put a blow dryer up to that from the hole where the wheel is and it helped loosen it up and we were able to replace it that way! Was a major pain in the ass 😅
They design these Jeep so we have to keep taking these vehicles to the dealership... Great video! I am woman no way too much work for me just to change a bulb on my Jeep.
It might be worth noting also that the wide ear on the bulb is at 3 oclock. I tried repeatedly to intall the bulb with the wide ear at the top because that is how it seemed to fall kind of by itself. It would go in but the turn did not feel right and the headlite aim was wide to the right. Once I twisted the bulb around to go in a 3 oclock, it turned easier and the aim was correct.
Thanks Tony for the video - I've done this as well and your description of the difficulty of installing is very true. A suggestion - maybe Lasfit could install a cheap plastic tool to do the removal/install? Or if you have small children...
Great video. Very informative. Though I’ve done it your way more than once, if you can’t get you hands in such tight spaces, I recommend taking the bumper cover off. I’ve done it on this model more than a half dozen times. The light housing access is so much better. And you won’t tear your hands up. There are instruction videos on You Tube.
Hardest part is getting the new bulb in because it’s a tight area for your hand and the bulb is pretty big. Smaller hands may come in handy actually lol. Good luck!

I feel your pain lol. I couldn't tell if they were indexed or not because the back of the bulbs is pretty big so you can't see once it's in the housing, and of course it's a projector housing, so I couldn't see the bulb from the front side. The beam pattern seems good though so they must be close if not perfectly indexed. You can see the beam pattern on a wall at the end of the video here.
Aligning those tabs in the housing is such a pain, especially if you have big hands. The bulb is too bulky to even grab it and twist, I got the driver side done after fighting with it for 3hours, but the passenger side is making me want to get a different set of bulbs
Guyys if you’re having trouble getting the passenger bulb out get another person to help you one push up and the other one down. Do it from under the tire and from the hood that was the only way I got the bulb out.

Hey Tony great video. Quick question: I see you have the high beam link on the video description. Do you have that one installed on your Jeep? I'm about to buy a 2017 and I really want to have that setup. I'll appreciate your input on this. Thanks!
Thank you for the vid and your code! Ordered some myself for my same Jeep. I did order some fog lights with it as well, but noticed 3000K yellow 6000K white on box…does that mean the fog lights would be basically the yellow hue that factory installed even with these new Lasfit bulbs? Not matching the high and low beams?
A 3000k is a very yellow light, commonly used in the fog light position, but it will be more yellow than factory halogen bulb. If you want the fogs to match the headlights then you’ll want 6000k fogs if you got 6000k headlight bulbs.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Thanks for the reply! That was the foglight bulb that LasFit sold in the bundle for the Jeep Grand Cherokee with the headlight low beams and high beams that was in your link so I don’t know.

No mine work exactly as they should. Do you have this exact kit, or do you have the cheaper lasfit kit and then added resistors? This kit is specifically for the Jeep To prevent such issues.
Just installed some in a friends jeep and they come on but then the passenger side blinks on and off a few times then shut off. Have to shut it off then start it back up to get them to come on again but does the same thing
TIP, TIP, TIP TO GO ALONG WITH THIS VIDEO.... Great video.....I have turned wrenches all my life so I'm used to things engineered by people who never work on cars....here is a tip for you....if you are removing the Halogen bulbs OR replacing burned out halogen with halogen...I used a 13/16" CROWSFOOT on the back of the bulb ...you will actually have something to grip ....This makes the PASSENGER side much more doable on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is SHAMEFUL NON-ENGINEERING. Looked good on paper I'll bet.....
Same exact steps from 2011-2021. They changed the headlight and grille appearance a bit, but it should still be the exact same process to change the bulb.

Even the tail lights on these are extra. Gotta pull interior panel and unbolt the whole tail light lens instead of just having an access hole to reach in and change the bulb lmao
@@TonyTheTruckGuy just did my rears today.. i know theres 3 bulbs (one red brake/turn signal bulb, and 2 reverse bulbs) on each side that are pretty easy to access (6 total for both sides) without taking much at all apart.
@@drew57913 It’s probably the recommended combo just because yellow is typically for fog like I said. I’m sure you can exchange it though if you don’t like the yellow.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Of course, makes sense. I was thinking that after I inspected the box and saw that. I appreciate all your help and guidance! Thank you!!
@@drew57913 No problem, good luck!
Are you able to turn yours off with the switch? I installed mine about a year ago and cant turn them off at all. When the daylight sensor switches over to night time only one bulb comes on. I have to re start my jeep in order for both to come on even with canbus resistors from Lasfit. Works fine with halogen.
Did you ever get this figured out?
Great idea!
The high beam and fog lights can use the h11 bulbs instead then?
Not sure about fogs since I haven’t done those yet, but yeah the high beams are H11.
I am so glad that I have a 2015 cheeroke its so much easier to change. I will not be getting this model
Same exact steps from 2011-2021. They changed the headlight and grille appearance a bit, but it should still be the exact same process to change the bulb.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy 2015 is so easy. I just changed mine before researching and came up with your video. mine is accessed from the wheel well with 3 (8mm) screws to removed only takes but few minutes
@@ramiroequipilag1316 You mean the screws that hold the wheel liner in? I just watched a a video on someone changing the headlight bulb on a 2011 and a 2015 and they both looked the same as mine
@@TonyTheTruckGuy yes
Awesome vid!
Any issues with the lights?
going to grab the same kit.
No issues yet!
An act of God is required to remove and replace the passenger side low beam. Especially if its been sitting in there for a few years. Someone needs to explain to me WHY tail lights are designed to be removed in 8 seconds to replace bulbs, but headlight bulbs MUST be an hour long project.
I didnt see access to any other bulbs besides that for the rear on my 2019. There looks like there might be one or two impeded in the tail lights themselves, but honestly they way they illuminate the other len’s i dont think its necessary to get to them, if they arent already an led. The main tail lights come right out with just 2 plastic rivets. The tailgate reverse bulb is accessed just pulling a panel down. I did all 6 in about 25 minutes total taking my time. They are all completely manageable without losing your mind. The low beams in the front are another story entirely.
Did ur led flicker after installing leds?
Nope this kit is designed for this vehicle so it won’t do that
I installed these on my 2019 Jeep GC. The driver side is flickered little bit and went off.
Now, it is going on and off randomly.
Any suggested fix?
I noticed a wire when doing this with the number 68070029AA on it below the ECM/ fuse box with one end attached to the frame of Jeep and other end isn't connected to anything. Any idea if that should be hooked up too something ?
On the passenger side below the ECM I removed? I'll go out and check mine.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy yeah. Is it possible that it is supposed to go on the one 5/16" bolt that holds the ECM on?
@@saturdaysnowz It’s a flat black wire with a ring connector on both ends, right? Mine runs from the body (frame) to the single 8mm mounting bolt on the drivers side of that ECM.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy ok. Yes that's the correct one. I'll hook it back up to that 8 mm bolt. Do you know what it is exactly for?
@@saturdaysnowz Looks like it's just a ground cable.
Is there anyway to fix a low beam that’s horizontally off? The passenger side on mine is pointing off to the right. I had new lights put in and that side was off.
Are they LED?
@@TonyTheTruckGuy yes sir, they are.
@@goldy2372 Some of them will have minor adjustments that can be made by removing the bulb and rotating the base i dependably from the bulb, but not all can do that. Otherwise you’re kinda stuck with it unfortunately.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy okay, thank you for the help. I appreciate it.
@@goldy2372 No problem, good luck!
Did anyone have issues with flickering ever? The company sent me canbus decoder and I haven’t seen anyone say they needed it.
I would try the bulbs without it first, I haven't had any issues with mine and I didn't need any decoder.
Hour and half driver side and gave up on the passenger side bulb would not remove
It definitely takes some strength and persistence
Great video though.
Thank you!
Would these work on a 22? Mine looks just like yours.
If you have the same body style then I would say yes
is there one for the turn signal?
Is there one what?
Hi Tony. Thank you for your great instructional video. Unfortunately, after we finished replacing the bulbs with H11 LED Bulbs, my low beams are not working. The Fog lights, DRLs and High Beam are working. We checked the fuses and everything are okay. What do you think seems to be problem? Please help.
Hi there! What bulbs did you install?
Hi Tony. The Brand is HEISE H11.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Hi Tony. The brand is HEISE H11 LED Bulb.
@@mariocamasura4174 Double check the low beam connectors are fully connected. Also try unplugging the headlight connector and then flip it over and plug it back in. Some LED only work when power flows through from a certain direction.
We will try it. What we did before, we re install the original headlight bulb back on and we got the same issue, low beam is not working. Is there any Headlight Relay? If there's any, where is it located? I'd there any possibilities, that the connectors were damaged? Thank you, Tony.
NO Help, whatsoever. Searched for replacing low beam bulb on 2015 Jeep compass and I get everything but! So fed up!

Great video! Agreed with all the comments that the passenger side is tough to say the least. I got it eventually, but I'm a bit concerned that I did not get the bulb in there correctly. Once rotated into a locked position it does not match the rotation in the video at the 15:06 mark. Can anyone else confirm if their install on the passenger side also doesn't look exactly like what's in the video? The beam on the passenger side seems to point up a bit on the right... but not sure if that is how it is supposed to be...
I had the same problem but on the driver's side I think. It was really hard to keep the bulb flush while rotating it, so it would go in at an angle.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy thanks for the reply... I gave it another go. I definitely had it in wrong! I used the approach you outlined - one hand from underneath and one hand from above. Thanks again!
@@sparmy956 I wouldn’t know without personally looking at it, but it’s very possible from the sound of it.
@@sparmy956how are leds in your jeep? Are they worth it?

Worst design to change a bulb I've ever come across!!! Been driving with one low beam and fog lights for about a year, after another go at the passenger side low beam... I think I'm good for another year with one headlight or until I get rid of this disaster!
Haha yeah idk wtf they were thinking on this.
I’m sitting in my living room by the fire having an old fashioned listening to classical music after attempting the passenger side. Otherwise I’ll heat someone’s a^*. This sucks
I had quite a few choice words myself haha. The actual act of getting the new bulbs in and rotated is the hardest part for sure. Idk why they felt the need to make it this difficult. I miss the days when you could reach back and pop the bulb right out without even removing anything lol
@@TonyTheTruckGuy 100%. I finally got my wife’s done. Ready to trade it in now 🤣

It’s my buddy’s, I’m pretty jealous lol. Had one just like it but wasn’t as big and ended up selling it a few years back.
What is the difference between these lasfit “custom” H11 for a grand Cherokee and a regular H11 led lamp?
The custom probably just refers to the anti flicker technology. There are cheaper H11 options out there but it’s always a gamble how they will work on newer vehicles that tend to be more picky with the electronics.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Gotcha. Thanks for the fast reply. With this particular install, probably best to buy the best option and not have to go through it all over again to replace a cheap lamp
@@jimbosliice Exactly. It doesn't necessarily have to be this brand, but I'd definitely recommend a set that specifically states that they are error free with Grand Cherokee
