@@ilikethisnamebetter The good reasons are e.g. that the majority are right-handed and therefore the shifting is more precise. Likewise, a right-handed orientation is also purely biological, so crossing the center line occurs less often.
@@_Briegel When I drove a manual gear shift car, I found that my gear shifting was perfectly "precise". I'd be happy to see any evidence you have that "crossing the centre line" occurs more frequently in the UK than in countries where they drive on the right.
