Enjoy your time working with your dad Eric. The best years of my life was when my dad and I worked together but it was after he was gone that I realized it. I miss him every day.
I have to agree, you never know what you have until they are no longer there next to you giving you advice on any questions you might have and it hit me when I lost my mum last year as she was there for me day or night
I work with my Dad every day on our family farm, we may have our days where we don't always get along, but man when he's gone idk what I'm gonna do with myself, he's one of my best friends!
always kickin my father to take it slower than he is currently. honestly love doing shit for my dad, even if its just the manual labor parts of what he's doing. learned a lot of lessons from the old man.
Glad to see your Dad in the video, he seems to be doing well. Looks like you had a lot of 4 legged help there, their scared at first then curiosity takes over and they won’t leave you alone. Thank you for what you do every day.
Eric, you are a Good man and son,,the kindness you show your cows,,it will all come back from your creator God to you.. you're a lot like your Dad and look how he is blessed,,also you're patient with problems , your children will pick that up so fast, trust me..it's a great trait to have..Lord bless you all....
This time of year is awesome to see neighbors helping neighbors. Borrowing a tractor or forklift is pretty cool to see. I never seen a PTO driven generator before, that was neat.
Growing up in Iowa in the 70s we had a PTO driven generator that we could run pretty much the whole farm on. At least enough to feed cows, do the milking, and Mom could make supper all at the same time. We had a 1970 John Deere 2020 we ran it on.
The older heifers know when they spot a good looking guy, and as far as they are concerned you are the bull. Heat tape on the pipes saves a lot bother when it gets cold. It's nice to see them jump and play when the new bedding comes in. I didn't realize the head locks ever had to be replaced. Good video. Pax.
My love of 45 years and I from upstate NY near Bennington VT totally enjoy all your videos! We live on 6 acres in a rural area near a large Dairy Farm “Herringtons”. They spray the liquid manure in fields all around us. Stinky stuff! We wondered why the farm chose to spray on the hottest windy days. Watching your videos has given me an understanding of the process and the need for efficient farming practices.
Glad to see that you guys in PA know how to use the handyman's secret weapon - Duct tape. Like red green always says if the women don't find you handsome at least they find you handy. Lol... I can speak to that one for sure. Thanks for the video. It's really great to see the amount of progress you guys are making compared to just a few years ago. Great job!
Hi Eric - Here’s an idea for a YT short video - a series on the cow brushes. I love watching them use them and a bunch of short clips all focused on the different brushes and the cows using them would be kinda cool. Hope you and your family has a great thanksgiving together. Thanks for all ur posts.
You were right about the further you move down the barn, the more "friendly" the heifers get. And they are so, so helpful too. The box was probably fun to play with though. Good job on taking care of the overall maintenance. Yes, it can be a headache but it comes with the territory. Remember to find two replacement screws so everything is in order and intact. Duct tape does work pretty well, but those wields will hold up better (of course the blue duct tape did add a bit of color to the parlor). Hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving and I hope you all have a Great Christmas.
I'm not sure if someone can do it but I'd like it if someone could make a map on farming simulator 22 of your farm. With all the fields and cows it would be pretty cool to play around with it.
One of the many things I like about your videos is how you film and publish what to those of us who’ve worked on dairy farms would seem to be mundane activities. It gives those people with no dairy farm background a chance to see some of the many things a farmer needs to do himself in order to stay in business. As always, great video !!
What an awesome treat for everyone! Def loved the longer video, Eric! Enjoyed the classic "Eric stumbles upon a soda" gag. They always make me laugh. Anyway, thank you for sharing the long video with all of us. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I hope that you and the wife, the kids, your mom and dad (and the wife's), and of course the rest of the family all had a fantastic day! I know you guys don't really get a day off for holidays usually in the farming/Ag/Dairy industry, but hopefully you two were able to spend a little bit of extra time with the family. The new hoodies and beanies look great! Personally, I'm partial to hoodies, but since I'm a little bit of a bigger guy it can sometimes be tough to find them in my size. I'll have to take a look and see what you guys have to offer. Or, I suppose I could get out there and work with you guys on the farm for a little while and drop a few of those lbs. LOL. Anyway, loved the video and look forward to seeing the next one. Take care and God bless. 🙏
Nice to see you and Dad working together, my Dad and I also worked together farming. He now has been gone for more than 20 years I truly miss our time together.
Eric, Put a wire brush in your angle grinder and clean your welds up. Then spray the welded areas with Rust-Oleum "Cold Galvanizing Compound" and let it dry. Also clean the rust off your head locks and spray them to prevent further rusting. This product works great. I use it on my galvanized chain link fence and it stops the rusting for years. Keep up the good work.
Thought the cows were going to rush you and make a break for it when you were doing the stalls. They are funny when they gather around you wanting to see what's your doing maybe help
Yes, the last group of heifers definitely was more of an audience for the water heater installation. I saw "happy heifers" with the new bedding too. I guess it doesn't take much to amuse them.
That barn is well thought out, whenever we did things in the pens and the heifers were going to be a pest we would give them a treat and set the headlocks. Also always keep a couple of heaters on hand for the waterers as it always seemed that our supplier had them on back order during the coldest part of the winter.
Eric.....get one of the 110V flux core welders. Weigh less than 20#'s and just plug it into any outlet with a 20 amp breaker. EZY PEEZY, and they're not expensive.
I think a brief weather update would be welcomed, like “it’s a beautiful morning here, it’s about XX degrees and as you can see the sun is shining. Perfect weather for (insert today’s job here).” It’s always neat to hear what people around the country/world call a beautiful day in their current season :)
I so agree with you Eric; it is so discouraging when you don’t have the right equipment to do the repair or job, or it ends up taking twice as much time as you thought it would. Great video thanks for the efforts you put in.
When anyone says that "something just doesn't make any sense," and can explain as to why it wasn't in a way that all can understand, that is my definition of common sense with a healthy dose of good communication skills. Keep it up.
Never knew how interesting a Dairy Farm is. I've learned so much over the past five months. Keep up the great content! Also love seeing when the cows are having fun. 7:107:2017:3317:56
Beautiful curious cows. Great video. It is going to be great when you get the pasture area for the new barn so those girls can run and jump around outside
I love the level of respect you have for the animals. All of them. This proves you have to be a wonderful father! BTW, we need updates on your family. 😊🐂🐮🤩
I remember freeze ups being frustrating. 1970 and 80’s. Hair dryers and hot water bottles helped if not froze hard. All it took would be a door not shut tight. 🇨🇦
Looks like that robot is working with the new wheels now. I remember that was a concern after that last mix up with the wheels. And the Duct Tape fix... totally a Red Green secret weapon.
Eric, you are an awesome young man. I wish my boy was as good as you. He want even talk to me. Anyhow, Good luck on your water heaters. It gets down to 34 this week. Be careful and hope you and your family had a good thanksgiving
“I guess I need a screwdriver to open up them troughs”!! Lol. Like your occasional Southern word, slang, or accent!! Crazy heifers stole the box! Another great video! Southern City Boy
Hey Eric, if you are looking for anyone local to make stickers vinyl decals, ornaments, or really anything you could customize with your logo on it my wife is super talented and FINALLY has the time with our kids growing up to start making things again. We are just outside of Leola so pretty close! Love the content, keep it up!
😃The AI on the robot is attempting to get on your good side - next time, it’ll be a chocolate milk ambush!!!🤣 The new hoodies look awesome (I need to make an addition to my Christmas list) 👍🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸👍
Good job on the head lock repair and on the rail in the milking parlor, looks great. It seems like we have the same problem, when your working on the water system that's when they want to get water, or at least inspect what your doing. Some cows and especially that age of younger calves have a curious nature. Great video, thanks for sharing. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, I also hope y'all have a safe and wonderful weekend and week ahead!
Thanks Eric for another interesting video of those necessary repair jobs around the farm. After seeing some of the repairs you have been doing on gates because of rusting, makes me wonder if they are dipping the sections long enough to get a good thickness of galvanized on the steel. A high amperage (30-50 amps) lead/extension is mighty handy. If you have to change out the power leads on one of the silos and the problem is not to big, you may want to save the rubber cord for the motor and get a few parts to put one together. The ones I have worker on are usually #6 copper which works well on large welders. I use an extension made from #8 copper on my welder and it works great. Keep up the videos...they are always interesting. Thanks to you and your dad.
Woudnt it have been easier to replace the whole section with the new one and than keeping the half from the old that was still good for repairs? That way the new one would be fully intact.
Great videos it’s always fun to see the cows react to the new bedding they look happy jumping around I’m sure there must be a harbor fright in your area or look on Amazon They both have amazing wire feed using gas or flux core wire this would be best for outside ware the wind would blow the gas away or stick, tig or many different combinations of wilders for under 200 to 300 bucks These things are the size of a 12 pack of soda and they run off of 110 Ya that’s right you can plug it in any ware And surprisingly these are great welders and a great value for this kind of portability
Big magnet on a rope works well to find screws and hardware buried in bedding. Hopefully the curious heifers did not ingest them as it could lead to hardware disease
FYI, I have a 120/220 welder that I can literally carry anywhere there is power. For a minimal investment it might save seem time in the future. Happy Holidays!
Oh no, I wanted a hoodie and my size is sold out! Please get more! Love your channel! Nice to see someone local with great content. (I live in York, PA.)
It was nice to see irritated Eric today when trying to fix that railing. I just always thought you were even-tempered all the time. Thanks for the video and Happy Thanksgiving.
Will be interested to know how you like your Monty cross heifers. We have about third Monty cows in our robot barn and they are the best! My favorite of all our crosses. Have a first calf heifer that gave 120 lbs for 100 days, bred back to calve 380 days after her first calf and then 100+ lbs 2 weeks after calving. And we don't feed for high production, we can only make so much milk per day on our base. Love your video, funny to milk cows everyday and find time to watch others milk cows!!!
I love how the cows have to know what's happening all the time. They love to watch Eric work.
Enjoy your time working with your dad Eric. The best years of my life was when my dad and I worked together but it was after he was gone that I realized it. I miss him every day.

So funny how happy the cows get with new bedding 😂 & how curious they are.

Enjoy watching you and your Dad do maintenance together…he’s been a real mentor for you when it comes to handing over the reins to the family farm…❤️

Me neither, but it is an obvious idea... Just never occurred to ME.
We’ve got a 80hp pto driven one that powers our farm when a black out happens

Wow. This would be amazing.
That would be awesome!
Or just get lost if you play there at night in real life. Such a hugh place. Cool. Jason and Micheal Meyers would find it hard to find me.

It's really nice to see you and your Dad working together Eric. That is a pleasure that many of us never had. Enjoyed the video.
It is amazing how a little job becomes very involved, but that is the nature of the beast. Always love watching you and your Dad working. Thanks.
This is what I needed after 5 thanksgivings with the crazy family 😂👍🏻
5 YIKES 😬 😂🙋♀️
No matter how crazy, Cherish it.
I so enjoy watching you and your dad work together. He and you have such great work ethics great knowledge to get things right and working
So cute to watch the cows jumping around on the fresh bedding
Love the humor in this video!! Always feels great to check the small project off the list.

I love how all the neighboring farms help one another.
WOW- repairs and looking out for the cows' legs scraping on clamps. Lots of working parts to a dairy farm most people don't consider!
Great video eric, thanks for being a farming family
Beautiful curious cows. Great video. It is going to be great when you get the pasture area for the new barn so those girls can run and jump around outside
You could get a suitcase welder that can still use 1/8 rod for small jobs.
LOL you and your chocolate milk and root beer discoveries, love it! Thanks y'all for a great video, Blessings!
I love the level of respect you have for the animals. All of them. This proves you have to be a wonderful father! BTW, we need updates on your family. 😊🐂🐮🤩
Another great video. You and your dad work well together. Feel free to share the weather updates with us.
Hahaha, pretty funny how curious those older heifers are!! 😂
Temp would good to know especially in the winter months. Thanks Eric, great channel.
Love the “I got new bedding “ happy dances!
I remember freeze ups being frustrating. 1970 and 80’s. Hair dryers and hot water bottles helped if not froze hard. All it took would be a door not shut tight. 🇨🇦
Yes Eric , sometimes if temporary works it becomes permanent ! Makes life easier. Regards from Scotland 🏴
Duct tape is a miraculous invention. And it comes in festive colors. Keep the work environment cheerful.
Looks like that robot is working with the new wheels now. I remember that was a concern after that last mix up with the wheels. And the Duct Tape fix... totally a Red Green secret weapon.
Nice work. Repairs and tweaks never end. God bless you all.

Omg that snapshot at 17:58 of all the older cows making a complete circle around you watching you work is hilarious 😂

Your mind reading skills are amazing 😀
Crack me up how the older cows get all up in your business lol👍👍
Nice beverage delivery!
Great video! It's always something to fix on a farm and yes heifers at that older age can be such a pain!
I had an electrician buddy make me a welder extension cord for like $5 . Could save you a lot of head ache! Enjoyed the video!
Eric, you and your Dad make a good team! Enjoy your videos!
Great videos it’s always fun to see the cows react to the new bedding they look happy jumping around
I’m sure there must be a harbor fright in your area or look on Amazon
They both have amazing wire feed using gas or flux core wire this would be best for outside ware the wind would blow the gas away or stick, tig or many different combinations of wilders for under 200 to 300 bucks

The Cows just yeeting that box across the barn.
Time for a welder/generator combo, so worth the money, you save so much time
Thats one of the struggles of being a "small" farm. Its hard to have all the tools to do everything you would like.
There is no greater joy than working side by side with your son to get a job done right.
Now he has got the robot bringing him a drink. There is nothing better than an A &W and a dip of vanilla ice cream
Great how you work together.
Great video. It was fun watching how the heffers acted when you did the last water. Y'all stay safe and good luck.
Big magnet on a rope works well to find screws and hardware buried in bedding. Hopefully the curious heifers did not ingest them as it could lead to hardware disease
Harbor freight has a generator/welder combo. The welder isn’t great but it will do in a pinch. It also fits in the back of a side x side
Hi Eric. Loved how much "help" you had at the end of the video.
Another great video!! Thanks Eric!!
Thanks for the awesome video always good to see your pops in the video
You two work so hard. If there’s a problem you fix it! 👏🏼
Beautiful video like always good job. Guys 💪💪💪
Never knew you had merch till I read comments had to buy some. Love the videos got my own small farm right now
FYI, I have a 120/220 welder that I can literally carry anywhere there is power. For a minimal investment it might save seem time in the future. Happy Holidays!
Oh no, I wanted a hoodie and my size is sold out! Please get more! Love your channel! Nice to see someone local with great content. (I live in York, PA.)
I gotta say it again... the way the sun shines in your cow barns 👌
It was nice to see irritated Eric today when trying to fix that railing. I just always thought you were even-tempered all the time. Thanks for the video and Happy Thanksgiving.
Can the gates in the new barn be raised up so you’re able to go a bit longer between clean out, or to use the bean bales again? Cows are great help.
Will be interested to know how you like your Monty cross heifers. We have about third Monty cows in our robot barn and they are the best! My favorite of all our crosses. I think you should follow them as they grow and give your opinion.
In a pinch you can use jumper cables to extend your stinger line on the welder
It’s nice when a plan comes together.
Thanks, get a magnet on a handle at the farm store to find the screws.
Always fun to see calves to see have fun in newbeddding
Yea you were right about the the older cows they are curious so fun to watch
LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS ERIC HAVE BLESSED DAY
Love the nosey girls watching you work! Would love to get some 4xl merch!
It's funny that you knew what was coming at the end of the barn!
Yes tell us about the weather? Especially when it snowing, thank you so much.
Great stuff Eric👍👍👍👍👍
I love those drink jokes you do! Creative!
Thanks for the video. Hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving.👍🙏👏
