I was a Knicks fan when Larry came into the league and after watching him play the first time I started taping Larry's games.
Larry Bird was a great player. He's called Larry Legend for a reason 🔥💯💯
It Wasn't After His Feet Surgery That Put Larry Down. It Was His Back, In Fact He Even Had A Couple Of Surgery's On His Back. On One Of Them They Had To Take Out A Disc & Fuse Part Of His Spine. Thats Why In His Last 2-Years You Can See That He Couldn't Hardly Twist & Do Things Like He Use Too. But When He Played He Still Helped The Team Because Of His IQ Mind Would Set Them Up & Sill Had His Great Passing Skills. And Still Put Up #'s. Also In This Game Not Only Was Larry Playing In A Lot Of Pain. But He Wouldn't Let The Team Doctors Know Just How Sick He Was. The Sports Journalist's Didn't Find Out Until After This Game Was Over That Larry Was Playing With Bronchial-Pneumonia. When You See His Face You Could Tell He Was Sicker Then A Dog. But He Pushed Through & Did His Thing By Backing Up His Word That They Were Going To Win Game 7.
This was the greatest 4th quarter in NBA playoff history. Two all time greats going back and forth. Doc Rivers said they were both playing one on one full court basketball and all the other players were just spectators. Bird was playing with two injured achilles but what they didn't mention was that he was also playing with bronchial pneumonia. He was in unbelievable pain and could hardly breathe.
