outstanding book... I was impress with his a huge experience... SRECNO!!!... (p 106) " ...We need to leave in place a covert action structure. We simply can NOT withdraw our troops in a way that leaves a vacuum to be filled by our adversaries"...

He sounds like John Wayne. I can almost hear him say: "Whoa, take 'er easy there, Pilgrim."

Certainly, an engaging fellow, but I'm not sure exactly what his book about unless it's a general accounting of his career via fleshing out of his anecdotes. In which case it sounds like a good read.

He’s like a cross between John Wayne and Bill O’Reiley.

Mixing covert action and intelligence in the same agency was a fundamental mistake. The covert action is bound to warp the information flow and irs interpretation.

you psychos can try to guild the lily but too many sins are the reason we've become disrespected and hated by many other countries that loved us once upon a time.

Only fools with something to hide or those who believe the Washington Post, CNN or the BBC disrespect America. America is the greatest respecter of human rights. Clearly Alvin Smith has never lived under a dictator.

Nice man but there is nothing outstanding or funny about what happened in Chile. Must have washed the blood off his hands and conscious. Good talk though, someone had to do the bad things, even when they are criminal.
