My stance on react channels: I know I can't stop them, and I appreciate that some of them are fans of my channel, and I'm fine with them showing clips of my videos that they think are relevant but blanket-watching my content just after my video's release is bad for my own channel and I'd prefer it if they don't make a habit of doing that. As an example of what's fine: the way Ohnepixel streamed this kliksphilip video was good, where he skipped to the relevant part talking about react channels. That makes sense, and he reacted to it. I don't mind streamers reacting to older content of mine in full either, once the original video has had time to gain traction. Hopefully that clears it up, this kliksphilip video wasn't intended to upset anybody but I needed to get my thoughts on it out.
I often love watching react content, but at the same time feel a guilt along with it. I didn't really think about *when* mattering when it comes to how it effects the original, but now that I think about it, If it was standard to watch videos maybe a week (or more, I'm not really sure of the ideal time) after they release it could actually possibly even do good for the channel.
Do you have the data to demonstrate the harm reactors do? It would be really helpful to have such data available to counter the "show me the harm" argument.
@@theProtoster The Act Man has a good video on this called "The Dark Side of Reaction Content". Around 13:40 he talks about how a big streamer watching his video tanked his video in the algorithm
I don't care about CS anymore. I only watch you because it's you. You're well spoken, put high effort into your videos and I love your silky British accent.
Hey Phil, one suggestion for how you could signify that a video is a short segment or a longer length video that encompasses the mini-segments: the thumbnail. You could experiment with having a specific border style or color, or maybe an icon like what other creators do with their thumbnails. That way your long-time viewers like me can know which videos belong to which category.
im not sure about this idea. it would probably solve the confusion over time but i feel like those shorter videos will have an association with them of being lower tier and it might harm their success
@@fgreshtimbzzz3975 That's a good point. I think in the long run it'd be worth it, especially given that only people who actually watch Philip's videos would know what the borders meant.
I can respect clowning on reaction channels, it really is harmful to the platform. I personally greatly appreciate your insistence on still making longer, high quality videos, even when it isn't what the platform really promotes that much anymore. It's much better for the viewer.
Another perk with shorter videos: the video covering the destruction on office has a detailed timestamp of each item being tested, which I wouldn't be able to add to the full video's timestamps which require broader, longer parts of the video to be timestamped instead.
The fact that you didn't push notifications on those shorter videos shows the thought you're putting into it- I definitely agree with the thumbnail-banner suggestions, to make it easy to tell if it's going to be included in another video.
I really liked the fire extinguisher video since it was long enough to fill as a 'classic' kliksphillip vid, but the ones for Nuke were cut into too short of segments to enjoy so I just watched the full one. I think this is also a part of why it got so many views compared to the others
That fire extinguisher is a half-video idea stretched up to a whole video of content, and is all the better for it imo. Forces me to be more creative, imaginative and to dive deeper into a topic than I would have done otherwise.
@@kliksphilip i enjoyed the fire extinguisher vid as well. it was quintessentially kliksphillip; obsessing about tiny details people gloss over in a jiffy
@@kliksphilip Yeah picking a detail up in CSGO then deep diving into it has been the basis of 3kliks content so I reckon it's what most subscribers would expect to see. Source engine has years of history and CSGO's community is full of lore. Definitely lots to dig into, it's just about picking a starting point that can be led into other areas you wouldn't include in the context of an update analysis. I do wonder how things would take with a more spontaneous video approach? Clicking on something about a fire extinguisher and learning about lighting, prior limitations of source, reflections, and all the other quibbles definitely felt more interesting than expected.
I have been a longtime viewer from 2016 & beyond. Your videos have been a great source comfort in my greatest & darkest times as I'm sure many viewers can relate too. Having watched you for so long, I am imagine you are the kind of warm hearted person that simply does not want to take money from your viewers for nothing in return, & even less likely to pay walll content. Reguardless it would be very benefical as I'm sure 100's of fans would offer money for nothing in return but to help support you & your channel. You do a wounderful job & its unlikely youtube will ever pay you a fair wage, let alone the low balling & react channels not helping matter.
Thanks! I don't feel like youtubing should be about squeezing every last penny out of everything, but I draw the line at people literally ripping content without permission, especially when it's clearly detrimental to the original work
@@kliksphilipI believe @mycoolhk suggests starting a Patreon. I would definitely join if you had it (I hope I'm not blind and you don't have it already). As some people pointed out, some of your viewers don't really care about CS that much. I personally think the best content you ever produced is How to be like me. If you had good income from the Patreon maybe you could make polls there for what type of content to produce... I imagine this would be a win-win for both you and the fans.
I like the previews that are one chapter of upcoming longer videos. It's similar to a podcast like teasers of what's upcoming and it still means each part is a fresh bit of content. Edit: The more I think about it the more I realize this whole idea is genius. Each video is like a bunch of mini high quality videos in a bundle. It lets you spend more time on the content to make it higher quality while still producing high quantity for the algorithm. As long as they stay successful this is the future of this channel and paving the way for others
Thanks! That's how I feel about it, and can't believe I didn't think of it sooner. But in reality there are always going to be lots of issues I hadn't considered. Net positive, though
yeah, i know philip expressed his frustrations with clips *AFTER* the video and i have to agree; like with the nuke video. its disappointing to see a new video only for it to be a snippet i've already seen, and it handicapped both the main video's and the short's analytics. but snippets *BEFORE* the main video, like with the office video? its pretty neat, i like getting a taste of an upcoming big kliksphilip video before its out. i feel like i'm getting patreon teasers for free lol i just hope it isn't wrecking the channel in the algorithm, i know hosting large quality videos interspersed with little daily uploads on one channel usually isn't favorable.
Some randoms react videos will be forgotten in probably two months. Your contributions Phil are a literal archive. For example, I came back to a video you did about sound equalization to protect your hearing multiple times.
PLAYLISTS, PLAYLISTS, PLAYLISTS!! They're a fine way to organize your videos in a way that makes it easy for your viewers to binge on a specific theme of your videos in order as if they were one long video. I watch every video you put out anyways so it won't matter to me as much, though it would help if I want to quickly narrow my search if I ever want to find a specific video to share with a fellow gamer. I use the playlist tab quite often when browsing a new interesting channel because I'm almost always more interested in a specific section of a channel's library of content rather than just any random video the channel uploads.
Concerning everyone who's suggesting a "thumbnail border", do be careful with these. Many creators forget that YT puts a red "progress bar" beneath previously-watched videos. This bar DOES overlap the thumbnail, rather than fitting beneath it. You'd either have to include a buffer along the bottom of some sort (i.e.: the bottom border thicker to accommodate the progress bar), or just do the ribbon-style suggestion that would wrap across a corner of the thumbnail instead. Oh and don't do the bottom-right corner, because the duration is located there. You'd think I'm just being a smartass, but even Kyle Hill just uploaded a video with a thumbnail that says "SURVIVING THE [Hidden by Duration]". There really is a science to this shit.
Consideration: Highlighting the corner where the duration is will make it just barely visible enough to notice but not obstructive to the usable space.
DarkViperAU makes a great series of videos outlining the criminal-like activity that react channels engage in. If you haven't seen it, I suggest having a peak. Regardless, as you grow bigger, you'll have less opportunity to change and experiment and many people here trust and respect your video making decisions.
Since they have interacted a few times, i think it's safe to assume he knows about those videos. And going by the way he speaks about reactors in this video, he has seen them or at least agrees with them.
@lr0nY they've only interacted insofar that Matt has referenced being a really big fan of Philip and emailing him for a quick voice line recording. I wouldn't say they're buddies or anything.
hey philip just wanted to say i admire your work so much. i could write sentences over sentences on how incredible and unique what you're doing is. across all your channel and especially this one the quality of your work is outstanding and very consistent, keep it up i love you a lot!!!
I love this new approach! Somehow it reminds me of the "good old days" when I feel like you made more videos on random little topics you found interesting then and there! We get more videos and more of you which is an absolute win!
kliksphilip, you have no clue how much I love your content. I can't even put to words. The exploration of AI generated dialogues, the digitalization of that old video, your opinion on content reacting (bless you, I agree completely) and the videos you made about CS2. All incredible. Also, I keep getting killed at Rogue because of lag spikes and molotov spam. Please fix. EDIT: Apparently editing the comment removes the heart. I'm sad.
i love the short form videos because its a whole video about something im interested, instead of a short mention on a long video, so it saves me time and benefits you so i think you should keep releasing videos such as the fire extinguisher vid
These videos are someting different. You just do things a little different then the rest. An awful lot of effort into every video you do and open communicantion about the way you do things. Simply refreshing. I love you dude
I was a little off-put to rewatch the same points repeated in 2 videos of yours, but at the same time I really preferred the fast release times. I'm a needy viewer; I want both!
fyi your strategy actually worked well with me : I watched the long videos when I got the notifications, then noticed the shortest ones and figured they were clips of the longer one. Cheers.
I love whatever content you make, Philip. I usually watch 2kliks and kliks, but since I ran out of content and noticed you started uploading a lot on 3kliks, so I thought I’d check it out! I don’t even play CSGO but I love your commentary, and just interesting little details, like the fire extinguisher video. I’m glad you’ve found this new method, which hopefully ends up with you getting more recognition, which you rightfully deserve! All the best
Honestly I love this new format. Always love your videos and the tiny details you go into, so getting more of that drip fed regularly instead of just binging it all in a single sitting spreads out the enjoyment! Also great because I’ve definitely run into issues before where your infrequent uploads mean that missing a single video makes the algorithm stop recommending your stuff which this solves nicely
You are genuinely the only content creator I will watch willingly from start to finish, and not feel burdened or have interest waning. Keep doing you man, whatever works, works.
A lot of people upload shorts AFTER the main video has been uploaded already. And that was going to be my way of doing things since I'm starting to make videos... But your approach makes so much more sense actually! Although I do agree the way they implemented shorts feels clunky and out of place, I can still see the potential
Potential as in, not a complete replacement to long-format video (GOD FORBID) but a tool for us to keep reminding the algorithm that we're not dead. Sorry YT shorts, perhaps I treated you to harshly... you need some work though.
I'd always have the biggest video released last as it's the most recent video on the channel that gains the most publicity. Plus I hate it showing me stats for the most recent video when it's some half arsed short I made of the main video :p
I like this approach. I only got the notification for the New Office video (as intended) but once I'd been told you'd released new videos, I went to your channel to see if there were any I missed. So I watch the one that gives me the notification first, and all the little treats after. Whichever way round it works, it seems to be working! Keep it up!
I watched all of your videos as they came out and then also watched the new office video, I liked how it included new analysis but I was very tempted to watch another video when it was going over your previous videos
You (all 3 of you Philips!) are one of the few creators I regularly still watch. Even though I don't play CS & have very limited interest in it, you format your videos so well that it becomes interesting to watch and keep up with the new technology they release! Keep it up! Always a pleasure seeing a new video pop up
I know I wouldn't love CS as much if 3kliksphilip hadn't made such great videos about and around it. Your videos and Counter-Strike coexist and are inseparable in my understanding and memory of the game.
I have never played CS before, but an familiar with its community/ love valve games. I mostly watch your videos because I love how you talk about stuff, whether i know that much about it or not. Even if you posted a "new nuke" video in a year from now, I'll still be watching it all.
I've commented this in the main video, but I'll do it here as well: your editing, scripting and content style is surprisingly well suited for segmenting bigger videos into small ones or vice versa. Your shorts, for example, feel like normal, 60 seconds or less videos.
Every video of yours is enjoyment for me. I always watch them in full length because I know that every second had minutes of thought behind it. Also I know that It will take some time before a new video comes out, making me want to enjoy the video that is out now more.
I love the tangent videos. Please keep doing them. As long as there is SOME content in the smaller videos that's not in the long videos, I'll watch both.
Hell yeah! Stand up against reaction channels! It sounds like you've watched it already, but since you didn't mention it directly: there is this series of videos by DarkViperAU explaining in depth why reaction content is bad for the UA-cam ecosystem. They are a bit long and repetitive, but a good watch nonetheless.
i havent played cs more than 4-5 times the past 3 years but i still watch your videos. Youre a legend! Keep doing your stuffs the quality speaks for itself!
ur short form of content is excellent because I can share it with my friend who is a new player and these short videos will be good to attract him to the game
I dont mind, Im just happy to have you make videos in the first place! PS: I also like youtubers doing promos because I know they can profit off my view without me spending cold hard cash or watching these braindeflating (unskippable) mobile game ads
I appreciate your method. When I saw the videos I understood the basic idea and I only clicked on the ones I was interested in. And that was a good experience for me.
I love you man and I love your content. Have been following your channel for ages and was ecstatic when you announced your music kit Do whatever needs to be done, your legacy is your own, it shall be whatever you make it. And no matter what is shall be, you'll at least always have my view much love and ill see you when Underpass releases
ngl, the distributed dripfeed as you go about analyzing the new maps day by day isn't a bad format at all. And it aligns well with my opinion on social media platforms. Currently there is no cost to submitting multiple posts to a feed and doing so hogs more of its surface area to yourself regardless of how much content is behind the thumbnail. I think it's smart to take advantage of this since you do have quality content to back it up.
Thanks for making more people aware about the garbage that is "react" content which is basically reuploading your hard work and stealing all the profits.
@@cxeroannuki2840 plagiarism - the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own That's not what reaction channels do
@@vibaj16 well you are uploading the original piece of work with just a face added to it, if i copied a famous painting 1:1, but left some space on the outside azd added my face it would be fine ?
@@_Juke_ plagiarism means you're passing it off as your own. A reaction doesn't do that, it just shows your reaction. It's the same as a video of a playthrough of a game. If it's a game you as a viewer already have played, you're just interested in their _reaction_ (yet far fewer people complain about game playthroughs than video reactions)
Thanks for addressing this, it was a little annoying seeing the same segments twice. But I do like the new format and getting content released earlier. Especially since not very many people have access to CS2.
I watched your small videos and was a bit disappointed that they ended so quickly, but i still enjoyed the long one when it came out and seeing the chapters i have missed in the short video format
honestly like this way better... and i also keep watching ur shorter videos even though I watched the full one, which I don't even understand but i guess the quality is THAT good
i really appreciate you for disabling the subscriber notifications for the short form factor videos. i'm pretty sure i've seen the majority of them through the youtube recommended page but i'm here for your brother's long-form analysis content. no shame in adjusting for the modern attention span though
It's interesting, I do have to say that I enjoy your content either way. I always look forward to your content so the higher frequency is nice, but I also appreciate the higher effort videos, neither is ever a disappointment.
One of the best UA-camrs, 100%. The transparency about what your plans are and the feeling of calmness I get every time I hear you talk about the things you enjoy is amazing. I always look forward to every new video. Your dedication to valve games is unmatched.Been watching for 6+ years, keep up. ❤
First of all, 1:12 I love how 5 Minutes With Phil is becoming a recurring (and utterly dank) reference. Secondly, I would actually really like more frequent 3kliksphilip content (or 2kliksphilip, or kliksphilip), so I would like having notifications on the smaller videos. On the other hand, I am somewhat ambivalent about watching a video, like the Office one, and finding out I've already watched about half of it. On the other other hand, it does make a 20 minute video more palatable if segments are already familiar, like listening to an album when you already know some of the songs, for instance. I am quite excited to see what goes on with 2kliksphilip though.
I can understand wanting to rewatch a 45 second segment, but understand not wanting to rewatch the projector or destruction bits when they were already several minutes long. Was awesome for me when editing the main video to know those bits were already polished, though!
I always watch your videos on your channel because i know how clear and concise your videos are, there is no need for a reaction channel to add anything when something is already jam packed with information and content
I know there's probably only a small group that do what I do, but when it comes to informative content that I'm personally interested in I always watch the original video first. I love to get the information how its meant to be received and with its intended pacing, especially when it comes to creators like yourself. And then afterwards I might watch a few reactions from people that I'm familiar with and that might have context or points to add to it. With that said, no matter what changes you feel you need to make, whether its for creative or engagement reasons, I'll always be happy to see you've uploaded a new video for me and everyone else to watch and enjoy, and I'll always be secretly hoping for another story time from your old CS clan days.
Im actually sad to see ive missed so many of your videos. i watch a lot if not most of your normal length ones but i also love the sillier more chaotic nature of some of your shorter videos.
It's good to know that you make these full videos available afterwards because I've realised that I'm on the opposite site. For example: I don't care about Office skies. I'd never click that video (and also haven't) Not at all. But in a more complete video it feels more like an interesting tidbit than a lazy attention grab. The fire extinguisher was really interesting and based on the video length I knew you'd go more into detail and not just make a lazy before/after comparison. So in that sense I subconciously equate length with quality. To share my own perspective: I've clicked on the before/after video of Nuke when youtube recommended it and saw that it was a lazy montage. This made my brain go into defense mode, completely ignoring your next couple uploads no matter what they may have been. Even the full Nuke analysis video I hadn't watched until several days after the release. UA-cam has become so rotten over the years that I've developed this instant defense mechanism for low quality videos. And it was certainly triggered by your smaller uploads. Knowing how you approached this makes it easier to understand and I'm curious to see how this experiment works out in your next click empire analysis. I expect to be in the minority and for it to turn out positive. On the other hand that system means I'd never watch a short video from you ever again, even if it's standalone, because I'll just expect to click the longer and complete version. So keep that in mind as well.
Thanks, with UA-cam encouraging people to modify and to repurpose content I would imagine me making the interesting tidbits into shorter, shareable standalone videos would make some sense? I'll find a way of branding thumbnails to show if they're longs or shorts
Yeah I was wondering about it. Anyways I still watched them but I do prefer voiced videos. You have THE best cs content channel and I consume anything you post. I've even stopped playing CS but I cant help but watch those videos
Thanks Mr kliks. I was mainly just frustrated that those short videos weren't showing up in my subscription feed so I felt like I might be missing out on new videos
When watching your new longer video, I almost clicked off because I thought I already watched it before when I started hearing content from the short-form segments. Kept watching, but it was still very noticable.
One neat feature on youtube that I can think of is a streamer sharing another creator's video with their audience, but having the audience be redirected to the video itself, while having the streamer on a pop up or something. That way counts as a view, and of course the streamer would control playback for all the viewers so it's synced with the reaction. They're still kind of leeching off other creators but this way at least the viewers are directly exposed to the original creator. They could easily put verifications in place so this feature doesnt get exploited. But then of course UA-cam seems to be too busy removing adblockers.
The main thing that's confusing is there being no way to tell between segmented videos and others. For example the fire extinguisher video isn't a part of your longer video on office, but it looks the same as the other short form videos taken from the long one
I personally enjoy how each segment basically has its own video but extended allowing you to freely explain and go on about how cool something is or bad it is etc regardless take care of yourself good sir
I hope this approach is going to serve you well! I personally think it's a great solution for many problems and I even watched all the short videos first and then enjoyed how they're pieced together in the full video
My first initial gut reaction was "this is different than what I'm used to, so I don't like it", but now that I've had time to think about and heard _why_ you're doing it this way, I'm convinced this will be a good thing. Also, to help distinguish the segment videos from the 'entire' videos, maybe a small icon or label in the corner of the thumbnails? I feel like we're kind of reinventing shorts here, except not shit.
I wasn't confused at all by your format of releasing short segments while awaiting releases of your bigger ones down the road. In fact, everything you explained here just confirmed what I thought you were doing and I enjoyed having new content to watch (albeit not for very long considering they are the length of YT Shorts). In my opinion this format and style is a success, great job and thanks for considering your fans who as you said, manually check all three of your Kliks channels for new uploads even if there is nothing in the sub box (you cheeky bastard) ❤
i like this idea, its normal for you to adapt to what the platform is giving you and im happy to watch all that stuff and im more happy that ull migth feel good exploring what you find interesting and to then bundle all togethe rnto on ebig video
The main problem I see with this approach is making your audience choose between which of your videos to watch. For example, I usually watch videos from my subscription tab, so I watch the long videos instead of the shorter splits. I still see them recommended to me, but I don't click on them because I have already seen the longer one. I'm just wondering what impact me not clicking on them has. I don't know how the algorithm works but I recall hearing it punishes videos if they are not clicked on. On the other hand if I click on the shorter video and then skip that part in the longer one, the video gets less watchtime. Maybe having a another channel for this shorter videos could help. Anyways, thanks for sharing your thought process and results, it is always entertaining to watch.
I have the same issue with this as I have with the great ' Scott Prop and Roll' channel, when so much in my sub box is repackaged from other videos as a snippet or YT Short it becomes really hard to work out which videos are actually new stuff I haven't seen before. It kills my enthusiasm a little to watch if I immediately realise I've seen it already. Branding may help as someone else has suggested.
We would love to see your South Korea travels :) my gf and me want to go there so it would be awesome to see your experience in the style of the japan travel video. Love the vids thanks ♥️!
I was confused when I watched the "full" Office video and saw you just re-used earlier videos of yours in it. It felt lazy even. But knowing the reason now, I think it is a really clever way of doing it. My only suggestion would be to have a way to know if a video is just a "part" or a "full" (maybe something in the title or a visual clue in the thumbnail). That way people that are interested about all aspects of mapmaking/csgo don't have to rewatch the same things and/or miss something thinking it'll be used in a future video. All that being said, I really like this way of posting and thank you for explaining the reasoning behind it !
Absolutely abhore the fact that some smartasses decided to comment on 2kliksphilip videos calling them lazy and low effort, which is now leading you to reveal your intentions after the it's been in action for some time. I really liked the feeling of you revealing your plans and seeing them play out in real time to see how it's working out, now when I think about it. It feeds into the parasocial friendship I've built with you over the years. But I absolutely loved the idea of this communal discussion where you explained your plans and carried on with them. I hope I am making sense because it feels like I'm just rambling with no sleep.
I think it's a great strategy. When you mention it - yeah, I do hate youtube shorts, it goes completely against the regular way of consuming youtube by browsing what you like, instead it gives out random popular videos and I never end up sticking with any creator of those. The conversion rate from a shorts viewer to a subscriber is quite low. Byte sized videos that are quick to make as new updates drop is great to get exposure on the "wave" of peoples interest in the topic. Sure the repetition might annoy some people, but a good idea would be to dumb down the information on the short videos and then go in depth in the full video while reusing same videos, same bulletpoints and just expanding a bit on it.
I agree with the comments, I liked the previews of the bigger Office video, but felt some amount of disappointment seeing the cut up parts of the Nuke video *after* the Nuke video. The fire extinguisher video was a complete win; interesting, informative, creative, and funny. Honestly, really anything that lets your unique sense of humor shine through is always fantastic. Doubly good when it's informative and I learn something from it. There are very few youtubers who can do that, and do it with such a clean style. I didn't realize the impact of react-tubers on the main channel. I like Ohnepixel, and I had always kinda hoped that the youtuber being like "oh go subscribe to that channel" is a good balance; but it seems like that might not be the case. Even more so since I myself rarely go to the channel in question. Perhaps if they scrolled through the catalogue of videos to promote your content more (or something to that effect) and or putting more of an emphasis of sending viewers over to the channel. (I hope?)
I only watch Sir Philip's content for the music at 4:52. It gives me some nostalgic-depressed-fatalistic vibes. Always get a tear in my eye when I hear it.
I honestly don't mind the spread-out videos, it was confusing when I get DeJa'Vu watching your full form video, but it only took me about .5 milliseconds to piece together the other videos where just snippets of it.
this is a pretty good strategy, only thing i wish for is for you to mention if this will be apart of a larger video, likely in description to keep the flow going or at the start of it ( unless you do that which i apologise for suggesting something you've already done ) another way you could do it is as commenter mauromerconchini said, that being to add a border or specific style to the thumbnails to signify if it's gonna be a standalone video or a snip-bit that'll be bundled into one of the larger/standalone videos i don't mind rewatching things but it's much nicer if i know there will be a larger video that comes out with that compiled in hope this works out for you though, cheers!
4:28 okay I was NOT expecting you to even see that comment let alone put it front and center here, wow. I do get the reasoning behind it but the execution just seems a little off, if you're committed to uploading in this way though then there really does need to be some kind of indicator as to whether a video is completely unique or it's shorter sections of a longer one (though I'm not sure what that indicator should be). Also while I'm aware you'll probably see this now I just want to say that I have a lot of respect for you and the things you've worked on, I've been watching the three main klik channels since 2015 and I have a lot of appreciation for how you're able to continue producing videos in a unique style even while so many things have changed on UA-cam, so I'm not trying to be obnoxious or anything - it was just a little jarring to see a sudden change in how the videos were being uploaded and I felt the need to complain a little because of it
As long as your longer, map analysis videos remain - I am happy and welcome the change; as I appreciate that you NEED to do something different to continue to grow and extend your reach - I am not oblivious to this. If you were to cut up your longer videos and released them in multiple, shorter videos, I would not like this change. To the best of the knowledge, you write and edit your videos by yourself; have you ever looked to hire someone to offload some of this work to? Even someone to edit the shorter videos? I know it is not as simple as this but perhaps it is time to look into investing into this in the near future. If you continue to grow (which I anticipate and would happily place a wager on), you will need to look into this eventually - better sooner rather than later. Regardless of my comments, I am happy you are finding new methods to the UA-cam madness and wish you all the best.

He should go with color rarity levels like in an RPG.
I was gonna say this, people underestimate how useful thumbnails are for conveying stuff like this.
im not sure about this idea. it would probably solve the confusion over time but i feel like those shorter videos will have an association with them of being lower tier and it might harm their success
@@fgreshtimbzzz3975 That's a good point. I think in the long run it'd be worth it, especially given that only people who actually watch Philip's videos would know what the borders meant.
Haha I scrolled down to say exactly this. Thumbnail borders or logos should be a great solution
I can respect clowning on reaction channels, it really is harmful to the platform. I personally greatly appreciate your insistence on still making longer, high quality videos, even when it isn't what the platform really promotes that much anymore. It's much better for the viewer.
Wow thank you so much plebis :) I would love to analyse how long my videos are Vs a few years ago as I suspect they've grown considerably
Another perk with shorter videos: the video covering the destruction on office has a detailed timestamp of each item being tested, which I wouldn't be able to add to the full video's timestamps which require broader, longer parts of the video to be timestamped instead.
UA-cam needs hierarchical chapters
@@DailyShit. I'm pretty sure most people who watch him are interested in that, so no, it's not "damaging his brand"
What about 8+ minute monetization, though? Won't the views on your longer video be affected?
@@SnapThority Hey did you know that jiffy is an actual measurement of time?! Crazy, huh.
@@omnirex5184 yes I did know that 😂 one trillionth of a second isn't it
@@kliksphilip Yeah picking a detail up in CSGO then deep diving into it has been the basis of 3kliks content so I reckon it's what most subscribers would expect to see.
Net positive, though
yeah, i know philip expressed his frustrations with clips *AFTER* the video and i have to agree; like with the nuke video. its disappointing to see a new video only for it to be a snippet i've already seen, and it handicapped both the main video's and the short's analytics.
but snippets *BEFORE* the main video, like with the office video? its pretty neat, i like getting a taste of an upcoming big kliksphilip video before its out. i feel like i'm getting patreon teasers for free lol
i just hope it isn't wrecking the channel in the algorithm, i know hosting large quality videos interspersed with little daily uploads on one channel usually isn't favorable.
@@YoYoBobbyJoe The variations in thumbnail styles for CGP Grey videos is really intuitive to me, something to look into
Consideration: Highlighting the corner where the duration is will make it just barely visible enough to notice but not obstructive to the usable space.
My progress bar has vanished on mobile for the last few weeks
I read this in Philips voice for some reason.
I approve of this comment
@@BonJoviBeatlesLedZep Never said they are buddies?

hey philip just wanted to say i admire your work so much. i could write sentences over sentences on how incredible and unique what you're doing is. across all your channel and especially this one the quality of your work is outstanding and very consistent, keep it up i love you a lot!!!
Thanks! I guess it's like how I enjoy rct2 content despite not having played it in decades
I really liked you releasing snippets of the main video early. I happily watched it twice, once the small video and once the big one.
I like that instead of making some nonsense up you just outright say that it's because it benefits your channel's exposure.
I wanted to mention him too, glad someone shouted out him first. :)
I agree, love DarkViperAU

PS: I also like youtubers doing promos because I know they can profit off my view without me spending cold hard cash or watching these braindeflating (unskippable) mobile game ads
I appreciate your method. When I saw the videos I understood the basic idea and I only clicked on the ones I was interested in. And that was a good experience for me.

the office analysis was great, loved the fact way it was done
ngl, the distributed dripfeed as you go about analyzing the new maps day by day isn't a bad format at all.

I love the bite sized singular focus vids.
You do you bro, keep making videos and i'll keep watching them I don't care how long each one is or not. Do whatever works for your channel.
I did have some concerns/confusion with the format of uploads, but I am ALL for it seeing that it is largely to combat react channels. Godspeed Philip
Im actually sad to see ive missed so many of your videos. i watch a lot if not most of your normal length ones but i also love the sillier more chaotic nature of some of your shorter videos.
i watch you because i trust you and the effort you put into your content
I hope it won't hurt the retention of your longer videos.
If I already saw a bit in a shorter version, I'll jump over it in the longer one...
Good thumbnail and title consistency can make the mini vs full videos less confusing
The main thing that's confusing is there being no way to tell between segmented videos and others. For example the fire extinguisher video isn't a part of your longer video on office, but it looks the same as the other short form videos taken from the long one
Nah, i like this new upload strategy of yours. Little, consistent updates are fun to watch
Guess the videos were made short so you could get through them in 3kliks
In my opinion this format and style is a success, great job and thanks for considering your fans who as you said, manually check all three of your Kliks channels for new uploads even if there is nothing in the sub box (you cheeky bastard) ❤
.
i like this idea, its normal for you to adapt to what the platform is giving you and im happy to watch all that stuff and im more happy that ull migth feel good exploring what you find interesting and to then bundle all togethe rnto on ebig video
I did not realize i watched the nuke and office videos twice until you did that shooting at the end of the office projector part
No one can replace your videos for me, even if I watch 10 videos on stuff in csgo , I'll still watch 3kiliks view on it
I’ll always love your content, been here for almost a decade now
We would love to see your South Korea travels :) my gf and me want to go there so it would be awesome to see your experience in the style of the japan travel video. Love the vids thanks ♥️!
I love how it’s working out, even though I end up watching every segment of a longer video then watching the whole thing
The different playlist sounds like a good idea.

I like the new way you do things, the only confusing thing is when I play a video and I've already seen it in it's entireity
I only play csgo once or twice in two months but I always watch your videos on 3kliksphilip.
i watch these videos entirely because i like your smooth presentation and background music
His music is really underrated. It instantly creates the right mood.
I like it, it's a lot easier to share a specific topic with friends; before, I had to send the big video and tell them the time stamp
But what about his charming almost-scarily-but-endearingly-own-face-loving personality?
as long as the effort is there, its all that we need.
I honestly don't mind the spread-out videos, it was confusing when I get DeJa'Vu watching your full form video, but it only took me about .5 milliseconds to piece together the other videos where just snippets of it.
this is a pretty good strategy, only thing i wish for is for you to mention if this will be apart of a larger video, likely in description to keep the flow going or at the start of it ( unless you do that which i apologise for suggesting something you've already done )
another way you could do it is as commenter mauromerconchini said, that being to add a border or specific style to the thumbnails to signify if it's gonna be a standalone video or a snip-bit that'll be bundled into one of the larger/standalone videos
i don't mind rewatching things but it's much nicer if i know there will be a larger video that comes out with that compiled in
hope this works out for you though, cheers!
Also while I'm aware you'll probably see this now I just want to say that I have a lot of respect for you and the things you've worked on, I've been watching the three main klik channels since 2015 and I have a lot of appreciation for how you're able to continue producing videos in a unique style even while so many things have changed on UA-cam, so I'm not trying to be obnoxious or anything - it was just a little jarring to see a sudden change in how the videos were being uploaded and I felt the need to complain a little because of it
Yeah I showed the comment because it's a good example of confusion from my new strat. Not holding it against you
4:36 fav part
I never played CSGO like for real, I just saw some cool ai videos, checked other stuff and love you style and way you talk bout stuff ❤
Glad to see you have the only decent opinion about react content
