That is the theory, Legion is a unique Geth. Around 2000 programs inside one unit that is specifically designed to leave Geth society and study and track Sheppard since he defeated the Heretics. AI theory states that the more knowledge the unit learns, the more unique it becomes and thus gaining personality. So Legion objective is to study Sheppard, it makes sense to learn Sheppard mannerism. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the Geth's ways of trying to learn emotion through Legion.

Seeing as Legion was part of a story mission that had to take place before meeting him 4:05 (don't know why he has voice lines for that) and at times he is the only crew member (even though there should be 2) It's most likely a save file editing

I think you can go to the Citadel after the Reaper IFF mission and still save everyone, so long as you don't do any missions there. The game seems to allow for one mission to be completed (probably Legion's loyalty mission) before it starts killing off members of your crew. In the mean time you can go anywhere and do whatever you want, as long as it's not a mission because then it might count towards your one mission grace period.

After you get the reaper IFF you can do 2 missions I highly recommend making them Legions loyalty mission, and Tali's loyalty mission. Truth is Legion's place in the story was change very late in development. You used to have him at the start of the game actually. If you use console commands to add him to your party early on, he will comment on a lot of things in Omega. Which is not possible because you need to have done the Omega recruitments (at least Mordin's) to get the Reaper IFF mission.

kurt morales the description explains how to mod the game to get him early... once you've played the game through once or twice for the story, it's nice todo things like this and find the hidden stuff.
Legion is a blessing, and a delightful addition to any team. So matter of fact, as well as blisteringly intelligent because robot but also amazingly naïve and super curious about the world. There is little doubt in my mind why he is so popular, and commonly I find myself wishing for the original story idea that it was the Geth who rebuilt Shepard just to get more insight into the Geth. I know it's more understandable and practical for Cerberus, but one can imagine!

only thing that suck about ME2 you can't get legion early he was a fun squad mate especially if your playing as an engineer plus with tali and with fully upgraded drones
kurt morales the description explains how to mod the game to get him early... once you've played the game through once or twice for the story, it's nice todo things like this and find the hidden stuff.

Legion is a blessing, and a delightful addition to any team. So matter of fact, as well as blisteringly intelligent because robot but also amazingly naïve and super curious about the world. There is little doubt in my mind why he is so popular, and commonly I find myself wishing for the original story idea that it was the Geth who rebuilt Shepard just to get more insight into the Geth. I know it's more understandable and practical for Cerberus, but one can imagine!
