Absolutely!! Straight pipes aren't always best for performance, though. Depending, of course, on terrain. I just wear earplugs and love the sound. I am too old to venture into high torque demand situations. (Unless close to home). I like groomed trails. Call me a pussy, I don't care. Safe at 60. So, I like the straight pipe approach.
Never been a big fan of cans myself, I don’t mind the stock cackle haha, plus people don’t know when you are about to blow past them until your already gone lol, besides that $300 saved on a loud silencer can be put towards real power and results like porting, there is no mod like a good trail port set up, I was blown away when Dave trygstad did my first engine huge gains
Good choice pulling the turbo off they are for the mountain boys... this will be far more reliable and less worries with det and that sort of thing out on the flatlands. Only thing i did with mine was change the springs and weights and put a can on it and love it. I may hit you up at some point on that seat though i find when im jumping from side to side im catching my leg on the seat back and that gets frustrating cuz im a 5'7" midget.
Great video...Just got a bunch of rain down here in Newfoundland today still lots of snow in the woods but abit rough trying to leave from home now on sled
Cops have been doing big blitzes up north cracking down on any modified exhaust on the trails. Even trail rated cans are getting people 110$ fines, it's fuckin brutal lol
I have a jaws trail on, its too loud, ill ditch it, also didnt find any power improvements apart from +200 rpm full throttle. Not worth it Big bore is the way to go!
@@Domster19888 I just took the stock muffler on my XC 600 and welded a glasspack inside of it then seam welded it back inside the stock enclosure. Loud as hell but looks completely stock. lol
@@aaronbrown2966 Definitely yes, no one will ever complain if you're just riding on a lake and police usually don't patrol in these areas, probably not allowed too.

I'm a doo guy but that sounds pretty sick. I'm in Massachusetts they don't mind the cans as long as when you guy bye them your not full throttle but everyone in the trail clubs have nice sleds with mods it's up in Vermont and new Hampshire they kinda give you a hard time as trails actually go threw peopl ed s driveways back yards
Strange law states a decibel level. Not whether it's after market or not. I'm sure it will change soon. But at the moment it's a DB rating. I feel that some older tripples may be louder than a good trail can
Um, Louis, this is the first video I have seen where you failed to wear your safety googles when removing exhaust springs. Wouldn't want to catch a spring in the peeper. 8-)
I got to Arctic Cat 500 with cat Pro clutch power mod handlebars risers matching Jets 4 plus on top Sprocket and also a can. now my old man says it's too loud
Going on a trip to drive in the dirt?. There r no trails. There is some snow but temps r grap. Pullution has unfortunately taken us all by suprize. Or not some know and just dont ❤
All I am saying is that around were I ride in Minnesota every one runs cans and as long as your not being a complete dumb fuck giong through town at 3 am braping your can up and down the streets you will be fine
shnill clutching/tuning issues, he said eventually he would get it figured out and put back on. But since he is going on a trip soon he just went with the Jaws setup.
If i wanted to make noise id get an air horn. All those cans do is lose the trail access for those who are more concerned about riding than making fucking noise.
Hey thanks for your comment but how do I close trails when I don't ride trails? I ride backcountry and mountains where a can let's people know where you are....its a safety device in my opinion.
Where I live in Alaska, you could run a straight piece of pipe for a can if you wanted to.
Loud pipes save lives 😁👍

Loud pipes don't stop people from acting like fools on the trails though.
shperax they might rven cause an avalanche lol
Lucky
I live i in Alaska and i can confirm this
As stated Louis, in the back country run it loud and proud! Sounds amazing.....
I was totally expecting a 1941 clip when you said let me hear your guns! YANG YANG YANG YANG!
you caught the 1941 line - good job!
We are getting 1 to 2 feet on Sunday that storm is dumping snow everywhere all over
That thing sounds wicked af 🤘💯

The best pipe and can combo. Have a wicked trip bud.
Make sure you don't come to Sudbury with that, Cops are cracking down. They won't leave anyone alone.
I swear I’ve seen your truck at the threway in cp,
🤣🤣 "loons and chickadees no complaints yet"
Mo power Mo problems...this should be easier to tune than the BD! Love the content thanks Louie
Awesome video but for trail riders, there are trail performance cans
Cops have been doing big blitzes up north cracking down on any modified exhaust on the trails. Even trail rated cans are getting people 110$ fines, it's fuckin brutal lol
Cans are illegal in Quebec no matter if they are trail or not. Just saying
There are also Police that will give you a fine for ANY exhaust modification. Even bolt ons.

Lou are we going to start seeing some pre season sled updates.
Yes Im just getting things done outside before the snow flies....getting cold here!
This is near Ottawa right but the looks of it he knows blacks corners that’s sickkk
OPP has been going all out on people running cans this season, good on pointing this out.
do you know if you can run a can on the lake in Ontario?
@@aaronbrown2966 Definitely yes, no one will ever complain if you're just riding on a lake and police usually don't patrol in these areas, probably not allowed too.
i put safety wire around the lower rubber under the can as it kept moving.
man what a beautiful sled!

If you’re going to run a can on the trail check out Bikeman. They have a great sounding trail can. Passes most state noise limits

Michigan DNR has test sites on the trails and well give you a ticket.
Grant DuBridge good thing they are in Canada
In timmins they’re cracking down on them as well, and it’s not based on a decibel reading either, your exhaust has to be stock.

I like to snowmobile with out ear plugs.. Ill save the ppe for the work shop

Did you have any problems with this set up and with the full pipe did you have to run a fuel controller or what ever its called
not at all. no controller
Yes the peace of quite of the North woods
Hey lou why did you pull the turbo off? Also what snow flap is on your Axys?
That sound is sick nasty.
Hey Louis I like your spring tool. Where did you get it? Thanks
Take a long flathead screw driver and cut a diagonal slit
If i were to put a new pipe and can on my 600rs would i have to do something to the engine or carb to get it to run right
Quite possibly yes
Um, Louis, this is the first video I have seen where you failed to wear your safety googles when removing exhaust springs. Wouldn't want to catch a spring in the peeper. 8-)
I need a new exhaust for my 2016 Polaris switchback assault 800 with 144 track
I'm running the bikeman ceramic pipe and trail can on my 15 assault. Pretty happy with it.
Louie why you ditch the turbo
Do you ever sell any of your mod sleds, any of the revs or iqrs from back in the day?
Yes I do!
Get tha pow!
I'm in Manitoba not much here this year.
Come North, we have some snow. Not amazing, but very doable. Should be very good by February.
What happened to episode 19 on the rev 700 build plezz help
If it's down I took it down for a reason - ill check into it!
I got to Arctic Cat 500 with cat Pro clutch power mod handlebars risers matching Jets 4 plus on top Sprocket and also a can. now my old man says it's too loud
hey lou what brand are those hand guards ?
Those are Powermad SG1's or the sentinel covers.
@@PowerModzOfficial thank you
Do you know how many decibls this is from 13 ft away or so
No idea.
Let's all start pushing our sleds down the trail to the back country, wouldn't want to offend anyone with loud noises.
Why no turbo?
how come noone runs twin pipes anymore?
twins are usualy good for top end but not for low end response, cost to manufacture etc etc. racers use them though.
Love the pipe man
Where abouts u going out east cape breton has like 12 feet of snow on the mountain in only bout 5 he drive from there

It is so funny, you destroyed a really good sled with aftermarked junk 😂
