    Make sure it is the correct model number sr626 is most common
    Quick and easy method to change a watch battery with a flat screwdriver, as not everyone has access to horologist tools. This will work for most wristwatches, seiko , casio, g shock etc automatic watches may have a screw down case which cannot be opened as easy

    I saw the little indent and lined it up with the stem, I didn't know to do that until you taught me. Thank you for your time and education on this. I still cannot get the back on my Armitron but I will keep trying until I throw it in the trash. Thanks again, my friend.

    Thank you so much I had that same tool at home. The jewelers were charging $60 to change out the battery which only cost me $5.00.

    Well there goes the water resistance in that watch. :/ Do this to your cheap watch. But NEVER do this to a decent watch. Pay the few dollars it costs for a pro to do it.

    try a butter knife with a dull surface and a cloth to hold watch for support in griping it will help for slipping on the watch on hand :)

    It probably should be mentioned that if you are doing this work yourself, you cannot assume the watch will still be water resistant.

    This technique did not work w/my Seiko. I even used a razor scraper & applied around 70 pds of pressure to open it up to no avail. I've come to the conclusion that mine has a screw down case since it has notches in it every 1/2 inch or so. Thanks for explaining to us how to determine this Einstein. That might have made a better introduction in your video.

      I know, I know...blaming someone else for your own stupidity is so much easier, right? How about you pull your head out of your ass and check what type of watch case you have before attempting to change the battery...

    Cheap watches have lips. Sealed watches, good to whatever atmospheric pressure of water sealing DO NOT and are SCREWED down.

    • @tomjgoodwin
      @tomjgoodwin 4 роки тому

      The funny thing is if you notice the notches it was a screw on back he just decided to pop it off

    There is an easier way... Buy an automatic! ;)
    It seems that you can find a good automatic nowadays for relatively close to the same price as a quartz watch.

  • @juliusbaltazar609
    @juliusbaltazar609 11 років тому

    lmao! I bet its not water resistant anymore. This IS a screw backing. all you need is a needle nose pliers and watch out for the O ring when screwing the back on.

    Hello. This gentleman just ruined the case back. The case back is clearly a screw-down case back and needs an entirely different tool!
