    Hi Jason, The Repair Shop is a great show. This looks like something the clock guy would use regularly. Thanks for the demonstration. Have a great day. Jeff

    Another great modeling aid tutorial. Thanks again. Wish I was able to watch them all as they came out.

    What a great idea. I like the shape making it very stable. I think I know what my next tool purchase will be.

    Reminds me of getting a shot in the doctor's office back in the ’60s. The nurse or doctor would wet a cotton puff with alcohol in the days before individually wrapped alcohol wipes.

      Jenifer, that makes sense, we were better at not creating waste then! Thanks for looking in and taking the time to comment.

    Hi Jason
    These are used a lot for dispensing water when adding a mirror shine when polishing boots and shoes. Much prefer your idea for it.

    This is a good idea. The repair shop is one of my favourite programmes, I think the gentleman you are referring to is Steve who is a horologist (clock/watch specialist) I believe his father and grandfather were horologists and Steve still runs the family shop? Anyway great review and something I will think about getting. All the best 👍

    Great idea. Reminds of some much larger metal ones we used in engineering work dispensing the degreasing liquids. The cap will help to contain evaporation of surplus in the top if it isn't drained back to the pot. I'm curious to see your needle holder in modelling use though. 👍

    What a neat idea. Much easier to just use a little bit rather than constantly opening big bottles. I need to get me one of those.

    I am curious about your comment that 70% - 80% IPA is better at cleaning the plastic parts than is IPA > 90%. Is this based on your experience, or is there some chemical explanation (e.g. the substances you are trying to remove from the plastic go into solution better with the 70% IPA than the 90% IPA)?

    • @ModelkitStuff
      @ModelkitStuff  2 місяці тому

      lots of people assume the stronger the alcohol content the better, that may be the case for medical purposes but you want 70-80% for cleaning models as the higher water content slows the evaporation rate so you get a better cleaning action.

    Really useful, getting one. The reviews I read have a high percentage of bad reviews - stopped working, poor qualty etc... Can you recommend yours?
