  • A lovely little trick to accurately and quickly count how many smaller boxes can fit into larger containers. A topic that's increasingly common on the tests and can be useful in real-life practical situations.

    The GRE and GMAT are two of most used graduate exams for those seeking to study a Masters Degree or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree. The Graduate Record Exam and Graduate Management Admissions Test have been taken for over 50 years and are taken by approximately 600,000 and 300,000 people worldwide annually, respectively. I just finished week four with your playlist. I thought that I did not need any more information in geometry, but after watching your videos, I did not regret it because I have gained many new tricks and techniques that I can use in the test. thanks a gain for this great effort.

    Hey Phillip,
    I went through most of your vocab videos. My performance in verbal really picked up after that. You are an excellent teacher. I took the GRE last week and ended up with a 331 (Q170 V161 AWA 5).

      @@verdaarif Hi Verda,
      I did not go topic wise from any resource but I prepared through analyzing my mistakes on mocks. I attempted 12 mocks ( 2 ETS, 5 Manhattan, 5 Kaplan). After every mock, I identified the gaps in my skills and revised those topics through the 5 lb book of GRE practice and TestedTutor's videos. For vocab, I depended only on this channel. Best of luck for your exam. 331 is not that difficult if you use a structured approach.

      @@yashshukla288 Thank you SO much for your thorough reply. I have my concepts ready but its the practice that is taking me back. I have ETS free mocks, could you please share the link to Kaplan and Manhattan mocks? Are those free? And thank you again for words of confidence, it does seem like a real deal to get a 330+!

    Hi Phillip,
    Your videos are great and thanks for posting it regularly. While going through the second question in this video, I came up with 208 for the maximum number. Here’s what I did:
    Put the Package B in A as follows:
    2 B of 7 length alongside A's length of 15 -> 2 per floor
    3 B of 3 width alongside A’s width of 3 -> 3 per floor
    56/2 = 28 B of 2 height alongside A’s height of 2 -> 28
    Number of package = 2 * 3 * 28 = 168
    But, we still have 2 width left in container A, so we can still put B vertically as:
    1 B of 2 width alongside A’s width of 2 -> 1
    15/3 = 5 B of length 5 alongside A’s length of 15 -> 5
    56/7 = 8 B of height 7 alongside A’s height of 56 -> 8
    Number of package = 1 * 5 * 8 = 40
    Total number of package B in A = 168 + 40 = 208
    The question did not imply that we could put the package only one way so I used multiple ways to put them in. Please let me know if this reasoning makes sense.

    Thank you so much for your videos, they're very helpful. Please can you make a video on using the GRE Calculator? I often find take several mins to use it; and how many of the functions on it are actually useful.

    In the second example, unless you are required to put all the boxes in the same orientation, (which i think the problem doesn't require), then the max can be 220, no? Am I missing something?
