@@animateddepression Most love triangles in fiction are more like love arrows ^, with one focal character having to choose between two love interests, or love cycles, where each character in the triangle has unrequited love for the next character in the triangle. This love triangle is rare because not only did they have reciprocal love with each person in the triangle at one point, but they also screwed each other out of each relationship they had in the triangle. Its a hot mess of toxic relationships that shouldn't be possible, but there it is.
now i'm thinking of all the other eldritch demons that probably live there that we haven't seen yet and korra just opened the portals straight to them.....
Tenzin: I just want to let you know that I'm happy for you. For dating. A thing you've done before that I've never seen a reason to congratulate you on.
@Noblesse Obligee Yeah, but also because she was ditching her avatar training, that thing she needs to do to protect the world, to go play sportsball with some homeless kids.

I love how they made a history about Avatar, a mystic world full of bizarre animals, spirits, and with magic element controlling humans, all about gayness. Like there is absolutely NOTHING more important to tell about that world than who fucks who. Yeah. That will sell shit.
*City is literally on fire* "did you know i'm gay?" asked Korra, and the entire city began clapping. "Why aren't you clapping as well!?" screamed Korra at the three men trying to open a water valve for the fire truck.
Frankly, the treatment of Mako in this series is disgusting, and these comic books encapsulate it. No, I'm not talking about Mako the character. I'm talking about Mako the actor: Makoto Iwamatsu. Mako the character was supposedly created as a tribute to the man. This is your tribute to Mako? Like, really?
@@GUURL101 I just rewatched the show and the poor guy never even approached Korra while he was with Asami and vice versa. The girls both jumped him. The only mistake he did was not immediately dropping the truth bomb on Korra during her amnesia and that's perfectly reasonable because a) he's like 17-ish, he's not going to be perfectly mature at all times, b) you don't exactly do that to injured people, and c) he later explained the break-up was a mistake, so he took the chance. Bryke used two seasons to ramble about how makorra is THE perfect ship on their blogs and then expect us to see it differently, lol. And lemme tell ya, there are literally two moments between Korra and Asami that might be considered shippy prior to the finale and both are immediately followed by a deeper Makorra moment. There's also the search for Korra after the final blast, where Mako is a prominent figure, while Asami is a background character. The second half of the final episode also looks extremely out of place in nearly every aspect and doesn't make much sense. So, in my opinion, Bryke just pulled an 180° on the entire show during the last 10 minutes of it and retrospectively looked for in-story support for their claims. Or they're even worse writers than I thought, lol
But wait I thought every single nation in avatar was asian. Earth-China Fire-Japan Water-The inuits or eskimos or whatever Air-this one is unclear however id guess like Tibetans/Nepalese,honestly tho it seems like a mix of Asian ethnicities
I think the Air nomads are a mix of Tibetan and Mongolian, with the one who lived in the temples being more tibetan, and the ones who were truly nomadic being more mongolian
The nations in avatar are always mashups rather then straight representations. The kiyoshi island folks are clearly the Japanese. Earth kingdom is a mash up of China and Korea. The air nation seems to be Tibetan with a touch of hindu culture thrown in Fire nation seems to be imperial Chinese with a lot of western characteristics (America and Britain) water nation seemed like a combo of Inuit culture with a touch of American Indian thrown in.

Korra is attracted and makes moves on Mako. Mako is not acting on the advances. Mako meets Asami. Mako dates with Asami. Asami and Korra become friends. Korra kissed Mako when he was going with asami. Korra betrayed that friendship and trust with Asami. Korra steals Mako from Asami. Korra is abusive, demanding and overbearing towards mako. Mako is fed up and dumps Korra. Korra leaves crying. Asami needs support, mako shows up and they get back together...ish. Korra comes back and again steal Mako from Asami...ish. Korra then dumps Mako. Korra and Asami disregard their past history and become close friends. Korra and Asami then become a couple?! seriously how can people not see how fcked up this whole ship was!!!
Plipacha jedini it shouldn’t be the nature of the relationship ship (het, slash, femslash, etc etc) that bothers you, but the relationship itself. But whatever, your opinion.

Aang: Goes berserk at sandbenders for stealing Appa, destroying their vehicles, and nearly Kyoshied them, and only when his true love pulled him down, then he stopped. Korra: Who's Naga?
Funny enough, Aang and Roku aren't just straight; they're both implied to be cases of what TV Tropes calls Single-Target Sexuality: when a character only ever displays attraction toward a particular person. Roku notably was only ever shown to have eyes for the one girl that eventually became his wife, and Aang, throughout the entirety of A:TLA, only ever showed interest in Katara. Of course, Aang is twelve, and when a person's young and has a crush, their mind tends to filter out other options. However, Aang being interested in Katara, and only Katara, stands out from the rest of the main cast. Sokka was interested in both Yue and Suki, and also blushed in response to Ty Lee flirting with him. Zuko was mainly interested in Mai, but he also went out with that girl in Ba Sing Se. Iroh must have been interested in someone to have his son Lu Ten (who is explicitly stated to have been of Iroh's bloodline), and Iroh also showed interest in the bounty hunter June. Katara herself not only showed interest in Aang, but she also had a crush on Jet until she found out he was willing to kill a town full of innocent people.
@Gianfranco Ridolfi Well romantic and sexual relationships are actually different you can fell in love with a girl but at the same time sexually interested in men. Point is you can't actually know someones sexuality with just one example.
This came in lieu of another video by someone in this same scene that went over a study that showed that people exhibit the same disgust seeing their partner hold some one else's hand as being told by their partner that they had a sexual interaction with someone else. And she went on to censor hand holding in the rest of her video. They follow each other on social media atleast so I though that was somewhat of a nod to her
it made my heterosexual homophobic white CIS male friend feel, and I quote, "E;R's supreme censorship skills made me feel extremely safe and unattacked. Hand holding is such a.. is such a special thing that should only be between a man and woman. I appreciate his God tier censorship skills."
To be fair though we never really knew shit about kyoshi. Only that she was the earth bending avatar before roku. She was never really developed and her personal life especially was never portrayed. So I wouldnt really compare this to Dumbledore.
Often times, many episodes will be worked on at once because crews tend to be quite large. As each episode goes through each stage of production, handled by a corresponding team, each team could be working on a different one at the same time. That does not mean, however, that this should add up to thirty freakin’ episodes!

demonyes chaos theory you should be a writer because clearly for comment you typed out seems to be way better a writing than JK Rowling and the author of the Korra comics.
The dumbest part of TLoK is the show would actually be really, really interesting if the story actually acknowledged how terrible of a person Korra is and let her actually suffer the social consequences of her actions of an attitude born from her childhood as being venerated as the fucking Messiah. There's even the perfect turning point for a character arc in her getting crippled by the mercury to hammer in the only reason anyone tolerated and valued her was ever as the Avatar, and she has permanently destroyed her relationship with the only two people who ever cared about her as a human being instead of a walking anti-apocalypse insurance.
@@seanemery1917 Bryke also thinks bisexual women have so low standards Asami would like Korra enough to date her after Korra sexually harassed and gaslit Asami's boyfriend into cheating on her. Bryke's an NTR choad.
@@AiluridaeAureus Honestly... that's a huge yikes to me. Maybe just maybe Korrasami can actually work if they fixed first Korra and Asami's issues. Asami should be angry towards Korra too, just like how she's mad at Mako. 🤦♀️ But the show preaches that classic "women shouldn't blame other women, they should always look for a man to put all the blame" the moment they gave us that cursed scene where both Asami and Korra straight up confessed to each other's faces how they both pushed themselves to Mako the moment the other one isn't around. And they just chuckled as if saying that "wow, we're so alike, I guess we automatically forgive each other now." That's not normal lol.
After rewatching the entire show recently. No she suffers many social consequences. 1) gets arrested for not respecting the law and order 2)gets hurt and kidnapped on multiple occasions due to her demeanor and attitude 3) usually causes rifts in her friendships in early seasons 4) constantly being ridiculed by the public and even her home nation and people. 5) always accused of taking sides when the avatar is meant to remain impartial. 6) many occasions of characters being unable to trust her because of her bold actions and not listening to others 6) banned from republic city. 7) became fugitives for the queen (but this one was kind of unavoidable) 8) allowed bolin and mako to get captured due to not just staying in a safe place 9) Korra’s rude behavior in earlier seasons are almost always shown to affect people around her. 10) in almost every season the public has been completely against her and showed clearly they didn’t like her or want her, even stating her approval rating in republic city was only 8% due to her decisions and choices. 11) main one who causes the awkwardness of the love triangle. And she actually takes responsibility for how bad things got. She realized she was also to blame for those relationships failing and her ruining some other relationships. Mako and Asami also take responsibility for it as well. Though I think asami was the weakest offender. She only kissed mako when she knew Korra and Him broke up. 12) just to emphasize. She had such bad reception in season one that an entire army of people revolted against her, who felt benders shouldn’t exist and that they were oppressors. Which is not necessarily false, the show shows many cases of benders oppressing non benders with bending in direct and indirect ways: 1) Much less flexibility in job opportunities such as lightning bending generators and pro bending. Which mako states are the only reason they stayed off the streets. Non benders had no access to these types of bending jobs. 2) Benders using their bending to relocate, trap, and subdue non benders. Which was a big point of contention in season 2 as Korra witness tarlok oppressing innocents with the police force that couldn’t defend themselves 3) Despite weapons for non benders existing, they are still at a disadvantage as there are many stories and cases of family or characters being killed by a bender and criminals who used their bending for crime for years. 4) Earth kingdom alone proves that earthbending is used for oppression when considering the Da Li Korra failed to acknowledge these problems at first because she was privileged with being the avatar. So to her, non benders fight for equality seemed like oppression to her and that their cause was dumb. It took suffering for her to see what she meant how it felt to be powerless Like she suffers many social consequences. It just isn’t blatant and “in your face”. I’ve been talking to long but thought I’d just share.

Swapping the genders around to show why hating the ship isn't homophobic was brilliant. Romance in Korra may have been "progressive" but it was also terribly done and encourages the kind of behaviors that end relationships every single day.
Yes I am not a fan of the entire korra asami thing in general given that its a kids show and really not appropriate but even then it is super horribly done and written. They have nothing that makes them likable together or even really good with each other. Sorry for writing this 2 years after this was commented

What's really messed up about this"Love-triangle" is that Mako and Asami were dating and happy but then Korra came along and refused to take no for an answer and inserted herself between them despite knowing they were dating. She even forced a kiss with Mako. This is why i never liked Korra and why i thought she was always a failure in comparison to Aang. Mako holds some of the blame as well since he was indecisive and had no backbone to tell Korra no and stick with one chick...in-turn he ended up with noone...

@@slugfishh Would you illuminate me about why is it so important? What is progressive about popularizing the idea of being genetic deadends? Why would two people devoid of biological differentiation want to "marry"? It seems like LGBT folk really hate the idea that "marriage=man+woman". But do they hate 1+1=2? Do they hate positive and negative magnetism? As far as I'm concerned - marriage is a social tool, invented by religion and developed by governments - to promote healthy, reproductive, monogamous families. Sure, it did become a marketing and litigation campaign in the recent years, but the core goal is the same. So what purpose does a gay marriage have? Especially now, when like I said - marriage is mostly a cash dump and cash division tool and people have either unregistered relationships or open relationships more and more. Should gay people be able to register their relationship? Yeah, sure, perhaps. As a technical formality. But should they be married and all "husband and husband"? Perhaps for their children to live in a nightmare of being scapegoats, because other children, who have normal parents, know nothing better than to make fun of weirdos? Or are you proposing that children should be literally brainwashed and\or lobotomized from the pre-pubertant age? I mean, there is a BIG difference between a child claiming that he has a single parent, who has a friend who lives with them or rents a room... and a child declaring that he has two fathers or mothers. And this difference will exist for as long as we are human beings. And not robots or minions or something. So, again, why is it so important to... bother with just a bunch of kinks who have a fetish? Why not allow the marriage between a catholic priest and an altar boy? Why not allow a marriage between a farmer and his sheep? Why not allow a marriage between sadist rapist and his victim? Or how about - between a human and cancer?
@@WirxawTanev Uh... are you okay there buddy? That rant seemed like it was simmering in you. Anyway, I say let them have their marriage. Not like Marriage has a point or purpose in this day and age. I mean, seriously. Asami is hot and I'm not mad she's trying to smash. If I were in her shoes, I'd make a beeline there. The problem is she doesn't. At all. Monks wouldn’t be cool with sexual relationships, gay or straight, because they are supposed to be chaste and celibate. From what I saw in ATLA, it showed this with the air monks as well. No one in the air temple was married or anything like that.
Exactly ! It's disgusting how they make all the good characters gay or supporting homosexuals and all the bad characters homophobic. Buddhists, especially monks, don't accept homosexuality.
yeah that's not how ATLA air benders work. I don't remember where this was, but I seem to remember hearing that the air nomads were quite accepting and open minded.
@@PikachuLittle Sokka was as important as Aang, the show wouldn't have worked without him. I thought it was cool the avatar team had one of each element and a non bender while giving depth to each.
The Last Airbender was so much more mature and it had valuable life lessons interwined with the fun spirit and goofiness, Korra after that seems like a soap opera.
One problem I had with Korra was that she had had been specially trained as the avatar for many years longer than Aang, but was somehow this practically adult was less mature and level headed most of the time than the kid who balls probably hadn't dropped.
Kora is pretty representative of a generation that is defined by the term "Arrested development" and perpetual adolescence. ATLA on the other hand is technically a coming of age story at it's most basic.
@omniversalnihilist I like the energy but Aang had nothing to do with it. Tenzin revealed that the white lotus lied about that ruling because they got their pockets ran by the red lotus. Without Sokka or Zuko around to help fend them off again, it was too risky for the avatar to roam the earth when they have deep cover agents everywhere.
I would argue that’s the fault of the white lotus. She had no real world/life experience until she RAN AWAY to republic city. Can’t really vault a character who was heavily coddled to know what’s manipulations feels like. She essentially had the same issue as aang with not having any sort of interaction with truly abhorrent ppl. But her nature of being headstrong n firey vs aang pacifist route makes everything seem like she should have seen it a mile a way instead of blowing up when finding she was wrong.

It's weird, the Avatar franchise is only a little under two decades old and without outside interference, it managed to destroy itself almost instantly. It would be wonderful if some hero with aspergers managed to make enough on crypto to buy the franchise and make a Disney style canon purge where everything not linked to series was designated as fan fiction. The boomerang moment in the Dragon Prince hits me in the feels every time because it's the only vaguely ATLA moment that doesn't feel completely gay and hamfisted. @Mike Hunt The original comment was a witty complaint about how the relationships have been written in LOK and all that, and so I added to it by pointing out an interesting thing about how past avatars'... romantic orientations were written in ATLA. Since the original comment's joke involved retconning Roku, my reply was basically a, "That retcon would be even worse than you think it would be." Does that make sense? Communication is not my strong point.
I mean... people fall in and out of love, being loyal to your loved one doesn’t mean only loving them romantically for your entire life and no one else. Just don’t fall in love with another person if you’re in a relationship and if you do, decide then and there which one you want to pursue... unless you and your partner aren’t into monogamy... and also that they’re not in a monogamous relationship themselves and... ok this is getting too complicated for me byeeee
I thought only white people had magic words as part of their privilege. Everyone else is a muggle that is why their words are violence and our violence is justified.
You know it's funny when the people who write these things have their antagonists make sense? It's because they view reason and reality as the antithesis of their beliefs.
When you abandon truth everything gets murky. But that's the thing. A lot of stories these days are made with the intention to subvert, hence Korra's heroics being distorted and unclear. I know it is cliche, but like Uncle B and Spiderman says "with great power comes great responsibility". Korra not taking responsibility or feeling bad for what she did to the people makes her look as thoughtless and impulsive as ever. Not everyone is or should be as flexible as the Air Nomads. Republic city should've been split or almost totally against her. Maybe even ran her out. Then that possibly could've justified her spirit journey with Asami if she wasn't wanted there. But as a hero, as the Avatar, why would she give up and do the easy thing? Have that bullheadedness of her's come into play with her (going back into Republic City against all wishes) trying to fix things. Have her duty hinder with what she'd like to enjoy. A hero needs conflict.
And yet, Azula was super awesome! A skilled strategist, fire bender and cool villain. Korra can't even begin dreaming of eating her shit, she's just full of cunt.

They clearly were'nt true fans of the show, otherwise they would have respected its origins and values instead of completely detroying the original world to make a multicultural heaven promoting their political agenda
Falling in love with someone when you were previously in love with their boyfriend, and showing no hint at being gay or even bi before? Now that's even more realistic.
Everytime any new avatar content is released, it makes me realize more that the original show owes his success to Aaron Ehasz and his wife. Michael and Bryan are beyond salvation at this point.
Yes! He was a creative genius! He was so detail oriented and made sure everything made sense, was beautifully orchestrated and all the dots connected. Mike and Bryan pretty much undid ALL THE ART he created by continuing with LOK. So many plot holes, inconsistencies and confusion, I couldn’t keep up.
Micheal and Bryan are like how George Lucas was with Star Wars. They all came up with the main ideas, but without help they can't hold the whole thing together, and cant come to grips with the fact some..hell many of their ideas are shit.
What i can not understand is the complete change in them. The original was all about balance and how the charakters of a Nation change (free as the wind, tradition set in stone and undmoving and the north water nation was cold as ice and the south adaptable like water all this gone) and how its now not balance but good vs evil, from Buddha to Jesus. What anoied me the most was Marko he is a fire bander and i allways thought that what element you can band and how good you are in it is linked to your character (the avatar beeing so in balance that he can learn all of them) and marko should be full of energy but no he is the most calm of the bunch
How can Korra be commended for being good LGBT representation when throughout the show she's the living embodiment of the tiresome trope that bisexuals are incapable of forming lasting stable relationships?!🤦
At the time I asked, "Bisexuals, is this really how you want to be portrayed?" And an overwhelming majority was like, "Yes, it's realistic, go away homophobe." I'm straight so I have can't say, but at least this comment section is giving me hope this some people really don't believe in this ship.
If the writers were trying to be ambiguous about Korra and Asami's growing relationship, they were so ambiguous that there seemed to be no buildup at all.
Here's an important question to ask, why would these two get together? Asami would not be a bad choice for a girlfriend, she's hot, rich, and smart. BUT KORRA? She doesn't understand the value of money, she cares little for the feelings of others, she's always relying on someone else or the universe to give her the answer, etc. Not to mention the whole, once dating the same guy thing is... weird to say the least. They could've had Asami date some nice girl from... literally anywhere, and it would have made more sense then this.
Takes me 3 seasons to starts to like korra, took me 1 relationship( with asami), to starts to hate her, I still liked her in the last season, but it’s just so weird that relationship with asami, and no purpose.
is the legend of korra supposed to be an ironic concept that the title of "avatar" holds little to no credit to the holders of it? Even first avatar had more self-worth than korra. Korra just acts like a 5th grader would. I don't understand the dynamic of korra and the avatar title. If there even is one...
I mean, on the money thing, I could totally see Korra having no real attachment to the value of wealth being an attractive thing to a rich girl. Most of her prospective partners would in some way judge, positively or negatively, her wealth. Korra, wasn't raised to think of money in the first place. Mako definitely liked her as a resource on top of his emotional feelings. Doesn't make for a lasting relationship, but it makes sense, and it could be good for the two of them to have had this relationship. Korra likes... being liked, basically. Asami likes someone who can pay attention to something other than her wealth. (That thing is probably the mirror she's holding up for Korra)
Fun fact: Asami means "beautiful hemp" in Japanese. Maybe this is a reference that they smoked some hemp while making LoK? P.S. I know it can also mean "beautiful morning" but the meaning with hemp suits LoK better.
I'm actually more mad at the fact they treated her parents this badly. They were accepting but were warning her that not everyone is gonna be okay with them and the author turned it into Korra apologizes for her "ignorant" parents. HOW did this guy get past high school writing when things like this would mark you down half a grade.

Trygve Plaustrum E;R is right about everything in this video, and because of that whenever I get around to rewatching Avatar the Last Airbender eventually I’m just skipping Korra entirely because it seems like Last Airbender fanfic, and both the comics and the cartoon series of Korra is just bad Last Airbender fanfiction.
Korrasami wasn't planned until S4, after S2 Brycke even stated that Mako and Korra were meant for each other! In S3 you can still see the hints for an eventual Makorra reunion. Only after S3 Korrasami gained way more attraction and shipping so the creators decided to go with it in S4, it was also because one of the creators shipped them - but they had to go around and ask the voice actors if they were okay with the idea. This is actually on video, I came across it when I saw the final episode when it came out and was confused about what just had happened. I have way closer interactions with my girlfriends and we're all straight, so to think that Korra and Asami became bisexual out of nowhere because two girls just can't be friends or because they spend time together on-screen is crazy and nothing more than pandering to the shippers without any regard to the story/characters. If they were actually serious about the ship they could have treated it like Adventure Time did with Marceline and Princess Bubblegum - you know making it clear they liked each other in a romantic way even if it was through subtle but noticeable hints. Claiming that if you didn't see Korrasami coming was because you see the world through a straight lens is just rude and incorrect and claiming if you're against Korrasami because you're secretly homophobic is outrageous! It's just done to silence others who have a different opinion or criticism. Besides that, the way they handled Korra and Asami's "relationship" in the comics is shit. Korrasami is so badly written that they needed 2 pages to explain their "feelings" to each other and have apparently have felt this way for such a long time - only there was never any evidence for it. Next to that they already say "I love you" and they've only been dating for a week at most - seriously guys wtf. They're really trying to shove this ship down our throats when it's so unrealistic and obviously fan fiction. If they were serious about them they wouldn't have given Korrasami the treatment they did. People have to write essays to explain Korrasami's relationship because it's so unclear and delusional. I'm not against Korrasami shippers, you ship who you want, I'm giving the writers the hard time because this is just bad writing.
Someone write a fanfic about them both being stuck in the cave where Koh the facestealer lives. And since past avatars are now gone, no one is gonna tell her to stand emotionless in front of Koh
I think the main problem with TLOK is that, unlike ATLA, it wasn't focused on entertaining the viwer through a story, but to spread an ideological/politcal narrative. When done like this, media is not only boring to consume and the plot often ends up being a side product and therefore bad) of the political/ideological message. while doing this producers and writers forget, that it is the story people really connect with and that it is a well-thought out characters that can really drive home meaningful messages because it means something to the people. In my opinion media should stop being produced with the mindset of "I will show everyone with this amazing female lead how strong women are!", but "I'm making this character go through their own story, let the develop, earn and grow and overcome obsticles to get to their goal" - in media that follows the latter principle, you don't need to tell me that a women are strong, because I can see what (lets assume a female) character can do on screen.
People are stupid. There are people defending this dumpster fire of shitshow because of everything you said. Shows like these are borderline brainwashing of kids

Its like a love triangle but they all cheat on eachother with the other.
That's... kinda the definition of a love triangle.
@@animateddepression Most love triangles in fiction are more like love arrows ^, with one focal character having to choose between two love interests, or love cycles, where each character in the triangle has unrequited love for the next character in the triangle. Frankly, the treatment of Mako in this series is disgusting, and these comic books encapsulate it. No, I'm not talking about Mako the character. I'm talking about Mako the actor: Makoto Iwamatsu. @@MrViki60 Even worse than that. He was made into a cuck.

Maybe just maybe Korrasami can actually work if they fixed first Korra and Asami's issues. And they just chuckled as if saying that "wow, we're so alike, I guess we automatically forgive each other now." That's not normal lol.
After rewatching the entire show recently. No she suffers many social consequences.
1) gets arrested for not respecting the law and order
2)gets hurt and kidnapped on multiple occasions due to her demeanor and attitude
3) usually causes rifts in her friendships in early seasons
4) constantly being ridiculed by the public and even her home nation and people.
5) always accused of taking sides when the avatar is meant to remain impartial.
6) many occasions of characters being unable to trust her because of her bold actions and not listening to others
6) banned from republic city.
7) became fugitives for the queen (but this one was kind of unavoidable)
8) allowed bolin and mako to get captured due to not just staying in a safe place
9) Korra’s rude behavior in earlier seasons are almost always shown to affect people around her.
Which is not necessarily false, the show shows many cases of benders oppressing non benders with bending in direct and indirect ways:
1) Much less flexibility in job opportunities such as lightning bending generators and pro bending. Which mako states are the only reason they stayed off the streets. Non benders had no access to these types of bending jobs.
2) Benders using their bending to relocate, trap, and subdue non benders. Which was a big point of contention in season 2 as Korra witness tarlok oppressing innocents with the police force that couldn’t defend themselves
3) Despite weapons for non benders existing, they are still at a disadvantage as there are many stories and cases of family or characters being killed by a bender and criminals who used their bending for crime for years.
4) Earth kingdom alone proves that earthbending is used for oppression when considering the Da Li
Korra failed to acknowledge these problems at first because she was privileged with being the avatar. So to her, non benders fight for equality seemed like oppression to her and that their cause was dumb. It took suffering for her to see what she meant how it felt to be powerless
Like she suffers many social consequences. It just isn’t blatant and “in your face”. I’ve been talking to long but thought I’d just share.

Sometimes it can be a street urchin or some 'promising' kid the last nameholder found, the heir is then groomed to be the perfect model of the clan. Its got a double meaning of both rebirth and moral renaissance (people, houses, gov, business or families that fail are believed to be burdened by sins and evil, this will renewal cleanse it). Then when the time is right the heir is revealed a simultaneous retirement and celebration party is organized, you get scenes straight out of the mafia of ppl lining up to greet the new head and paying respects to the former one.

JK Rowling confirmed today that Avatar Roku and Firelord Sozin had an intense sexual relationship.
FLAMES OF PASSION
AAAAAAGH!
Shit was *hot*
@Mike Hunt The original comment was a witty complaint about how the relationships have been written in LOK and all that, and so I added to it by pointing out an interesting thing about how past avatars'... romantic orientations were written in ATLA.

Not to mention she was kinda abusive towards mako
Takes me 3 seasons to starts to like korra, took me 1 relationship( with asami), to starts to hate her, I still liked her in the last season, but it’s just so weird that relationship with asami, and no purpose.

😂😂😂
The writers of the books really don't know how relationships work at all....
And the drawing is like made up in divianart😂😂😂
I'm actually more mad at the fact they treated her parents this badly. They were accepting but were warning her that not everyone is gonna be okay with them and the author turned it into Korra apologizes for her "ignorant" parents. HOW did this guy get past high school writing when things like this would mark you down half a grade.
>leftist soyboy bugmen don't understand how relationships or human interaction works

The great thing about comics is that nobody reads them.
*so you can put whatever fanfic you want in them.*
Are you kidding? if the comics sold so well that they quickly gave him a sequel to enter the best-selling Top 10 of DarkHorse ... you know what the guy says is really not true, as in all his videos
Tfw the two replies above me fail to realize it's a joke.

You mean the Captain Marvel books that has been rebooted 7 times now because of low sales?
Yeah, just a thing is correct.
Oscar Castillo there is a such a thing as bad comics
That's because they are liars who shat on the memory of an old actor to get their asses kissed

OMG YES!!!! like WTF
I hate how Korra sees her parents.
Either 1: The writer has never seen a gay person before.
Or 2: The writer legit believes this is real homophobia.
I'm scared of which one it is, because for me personally I would have LOVED to have her parents who openly accept her and warn her about homophobes. I absolutely hate the writer after all this shit
At least the comics are consistent with Korra's personality in the show: Entirely unsympathetic and unlikable at all times.
I totally agree! It's an absolutely TRAGEDY she was /consistently unlikable/, and intensely so!!!
Even when the Spirit World was basically on top of peoples’ homes, she made it about herself. 🙄 God, I miss Aang.
in my opinion, the character development from the show just... gone. reverted back to square one. i feel kinda weird.

The Legend of aang is very close to perfect. Nothing can take that away

To me, Asami always was a side character with no significant meaning.
She was supposed to leave the supporting cast after S1. She would've joined the military and left with Iroh 2.
She could've been Avatar Iron Man. I was hoping for it throughout all the show, and yet she never got over her mass manufactured prank glove
Same. I seriously forgot who she was whenever she was on screen

@hanburgundy4317 thats exactly what the writers want you to think so you can hate him. Nice job falling for it
I don't really. It's hard to feel bad cause he's a total dick, too. The only main people of team avatar in the show that are likable are Bolin and Tenzin, and even then they're only likable half the time

Father: "Korra, please. I didn't mean to upset you"
Korra: "Too late for that!"
She is disgusting.
These are just the comic makers themselves projecting themselves unto the protagonist. They hate their ancestors and want to make sure everything they ever believed in and built is torn down.
Im not gonna lie, I once dated a cute chick who was trying to transition. And she overheard a conversation between a student and teacher, A PRIVATE CONVERSATION mind you... the guy asked the teacher if it was bad that he misgendered her (yes actually a girl but wanting to be a guy), and said he was sorry about it... teacher said no its fine because he apologized...
She didn't think so, hes not even allowed to be forgiven after apologizing for misgendering an androgynous cunt... really that doujins been the red flag that sent me packing, she was vindictive and vengeful at the drop of a hat... butt seriously think about it... you're even allowed to make a mistake and apologize hoping to correct it...
