This guy seems nice yet on the second two shower heads, you will notice in the middle where the water comes out, a small circle. This small circle can be gently pried off and underneath should be a screw. From there the head can be removed and no damage will be done to the larger face. Soak in vinegar or clr or whatever floats your boat to clean!!

What I do with mine, if the heads won't detach, is to pour some Domestos Zero Limescale inside the head and leave it to soak overnight. It works really well, but one must make sure that they are rinsed well afterward. :)

As some of you correctly mentioned there is a smaller central disk on the third shower head where the video poster said that there were no visible screws. That little centre piece can be removed by inserting something sturdy into one of the hole and turn anti clockwise. Once that comes out a screw becomes visible. Undo that one and ensure you see what is where as there are some washers and some rings that will fall off. You might have to pry the piece out as this guy did but with something made of plastic as depending on how much gunk there is that will dictate how easy it will come off. Once taken apart now clean the the lot. You will see that you might not have access to the rubber nozzles to mechanically clean them. Instead and if it is the case you now can put it into a shallow plate with limescale dissolver. Much easier then having to put the complete head in a plastic bag filled with the dissolver. If you don’t do the above and instead follow the video poster’s advise in pushing the limescale with a pin back into the head you are just delaying the inevitable.

Yes, I can only add that my cheap basano shower head had three holes in the middle, that were just indentations. I used a pair of scissorcs and pushed down really hard while turning anti clockwise and the middle piece of the plastic face unscrewed and revealed a phillips screw. From there it was really easy

On that second head, that middle section actually unscrews... Just done it on mine. I actually used a small screwdriver into the semi circular holes to pry it up, but on taking it out, realised it's threaded.

Well, that was a waste of 5 minutes. I wanted to see inside the 3rd shower head that he started to pry open. Why did he stop ? He already said that it was an old one.Maybe it was because, as others have said ,there is actually a screw under the pop off cover in the middle of the shower head? That being the case, it was never going to come apart by prying it open with a screw driver.

    Hi,
Good video of a simple explanation of how to clean various shower heads; I enjoy your down to earth style.
A suggestion though - the second two shower heads you were dealing with had plastic faces, (there are even faces that actually look like chrome but are actually abs plastic). In this case, a metal screwdriver will almost be guaranteed to damage the face. you need to use a plastic or wood tool to separate the face. A plastic scraper, wood/plastic shim or some such should do the job w/o damage if you are careful. Metal is just so much harder than plastic.

      Hi,
On the last 2 shower head, i believe on the middle of both shower head there's a plastic cap, that you need to remove it first with small screw, then you'll see the screw in the middle.

My kitchen faucit has low pressure. My inlet water line has a lot of pressure. The faucit itself restricts water in the faucit itself, not the line in. I can't save water when the pressure is not there!

    • @Brian_A15
      @Brian_A15 8 років тому

You Are saving water, exactly because the pressure is not there. lol.
I believe current governmental regulations do not allow faucets and shower-heads to be sold that allow more than 2.5 gpm - gallons per minute - to be sold.
This is usually achieved with a ware regulator or governor; a little piece of circular plastic with holes in it near where the faucet or shower head is attached.
These can be relatively easily removed. Just be careful not to damage the threads nearby. There are videos here on how to do so.
This is all assuming your faucet is new. If it is old, in addition to the above, still, you may want to check the screen at the tip of the faucet for build up, soak the faucet in a descaler such as CLR or Lime-Away and check for obstructions in the faucet.

Nylon pry tool may be a better approach if you dont want to damage them..

Good video BUT DO NOT use a screwdriver to pries out the shower heads, they mostly have a inner bit and that need to be screwed off , maybe using the two long nose points of a long nose plier.

I was hoping I would finally get help putting together the big type of showerhead.
I opened it last night and had the presence of mind to use a knife instead of screwdriver so I didn't ruin the faux chrome.
The middle smaller part screws out (just like you did with the smaller showerheads), unfortunately, after putting it apart, I have failed to put it back together properly.
I will try again tonight, if I fail, what the heck, just buy a new one!

trying to open hydro rain 2 in 1 shower head, no available screws and trying to pry the flat chrome pieces off. I want to reverse the head so I can properly use the shower since my situation is a bit different. not like i can just mount it over me. I am tall and the shower head valve that protrudes out of the wall is pretty short, around 5 or so inches shorter than me. maybe 4. I want to reverse it, so it faces me, I tried looking it up but it's just a bunch of tutorials on delta's hot and cold valves and stuff. Any help would be great!

    • @LS-jk3fk

I also mean the shower head, not the shower head valve that is moutned onto the wall. Ican reverse that easy.

Ours is leaking the lever on the side that changes the mode of spray. We've already soaked it in vinegar but it didnt do much. Im going to assume hard water damaged a gasket or o-ring. Anyone with any ideas or advice? Thanks in advance!

I unscrewed the face of my shower head and a little BB came out and a small quarter inch spring. Where the hell do they go? I did notice my tab does not click in the four positions anymore, For the different spray types. It does move but it won't click. Any ideas?
