    I did a 10 day fast with the wife last spring for Easter, longest I’d been without food was 3 days previously. Biggest positive for me was less inflammation in my shoulders and elbow joints. Felt more agile and alert till about day 5 and got weaker from there. Biggest con was headache for me and noticeable weakness by the end, as well as my irritability went through the roof. Thanks for the video

    Years ago I bought a 'Hawg' small rucksack. I still have it but like you say for your ruck, if I pack the main compartment to full capacity, it's near impossible to fit a full water bladder in the pouch next to the back. It also pushes on my spine in the wrong spots. I had no idea you are a long time practitioner of 'hunger trekking'! I have a friend (retired SEAL) who does the same. Very inspirational, thank you.

      Its has a real name? Hunger Trekking? Fuk man...I didnt know that! Yeah Rucksacks are funny. My Becker ruck was the first ruck that didn't acted like that and used it room amazingly well. Sadly the suspension destroyed my back. What a disappointment that was. It wasn't the rucks fault- It just didn't suit my small frame well...

      Interesting observation. Ive always wondered why the padding was so thin in British PLCE rucks. I thought exactly what you just stated- It was made like that with the over all anticipation of it being used with vests/webbing and they are already padded..

    I suppose one of those comments was mine and only because I've tried a similar load out in a different pack and it didn't suit me. I was wondering if it was me or the pack. I definitely went overweight and overloaded the harness system on mine.

      Yeah I always have food on me. Its a standard for a three day load/one day load. I had extra room and should have shoved more in there but I didn't need to. Food could be the dif between life or death with producing metabolic heat from digestion... YES- I was referring to your comment and some others. Not in a bad way- I saw it as maybe I was missing something other were seeing. When such things come from a known friend I don't take it any other way than constructive..

    that compartment that zips forward that sits against your back. That shit drives me up the wall. I have the Direct Action Dust and it has the same feature. You put a wide style 3 liter water bladder in it and when your pack is full like it's supposed to be; it malforms the padded section that's against your back. It bulges all weird and forces you out of good posture and puts your shoulders in a bench press form. Bad idea when you're rucking and climbing shit. I ended up sacrificing main compartment room for my bladder

    • @Evasion.Survival.Alaska
      @Evasion.Survival.Alaska  3 місяці тому +1

      Ohhhhh I never use bladders and I remember reading something about lap-tops so i thought that was what it was for. I hate it too. Feels like a have an unneeded layer between me and the rucksack. I'm getting used to it, of course but its there and I hate it. An Entire compartment for a bladder? I get it but it shouldn't have to be that way! One has to wonder who they talk to before they put these rucks together because it sure isn't ppl that use them!

    IGood rundown of the dragon egg. Always wondered if it was good. Looks like you have to really add to it to make it work. Interesting information about the hunger games. The addition of sleep deprivation sounds like a whole lot of suck but definitely useful to know how you will handle such things physically, mentally and spiritually. Never done a 72 hr hunger game. Only 24-36. I will have to move on to 48 and 72.
