JIB True Wireless Earbuds by Skullcandy review: Major issue after a few weeks

- Review about the JIB True Wireless earbuds by Skull Candy. They offer great value but I ran into an issue with the right earbud after only a few weeks of usage. Not sure if this is a common issue issue or its rare. Hopefully Skullcandy stays true to its two year warranty!!
Update: It has been a couple months since making this video and the volume issue with the right pair seems to come and go. Sometimes they work fine and other times they do not.
I bought a pair yesterday sound was great 2 hours later the right one stop working completely and now wont pair AT ALL very disappointed....
I just watched this video and I had an idea, so I took the rubber off and took a knife and popped the little screen out and it works amazing now
The left one stopped working and I can’t get it connected at all
i just wanted to say i know what the problem is i had it to but i fixed it its the filter if you remove that then it will sound good again
To pair them to each other:
Disconnect earbuds from all devices and turn off bluetooth. Take them out of the case. Once they start to blink red & blue rapidly press both of them 4 times. They will then start to blink slower and they should connect to each other. Hope this helps!
thank you so much. finally i have 2 working buds
I have the blue pair of these. One side blinks red and blue rapidly, while the other blinks red and blue slower. I’m so angry. I use these for my computer because I can’t wear gaming headsets.
Thank you so much. Someone who understands .
@@Electroniczdoodz Make sure they are disconnected from all devices (turn off bluetooth too) and turn off before putting them back in the case. Then try again.
@cynicist Make sure they are disconnected from any devices (turn Bluetooth off as well) turn them off, and try again. Hopefully this helps.
Worked fine for a couple of weeks and the right earbud just stopped working.
These things stink. You have to constantly keep your eye on them because they rarely charge correctly. Half the time you’ll get one to charge right and the other will half charge if you’re lucky. 0 stars lol. I paid $30 bucks and I feel like I got ripped off for $29 of it lol
Same problem here lol
I ain't lien went thru like 3 different pair
I charge at work for next day and half the time only 1 charges! Pfffffft
Mines only connect separately so I can’t use both of them at the same time🙃
Just happend today. Left one wont connect. Turns on fine tho
I have the same problem now the only way I got it to charge was to hold it on the little charging port it goes into and the red light turns on
Just got a pair of these as a gift. Trying them out and so far so good. I don't expect them to be as good as the Sesh Evo's that I gave my wife for Christmas a couple years back. Those ones are good.
They are decent head phones as long as everything works as it should.
Well I don’t know so far only the right one is working, I believe I had them for 11 months.
The sound out of them is great, the volume is also good as well. But mine had issues out of the box, the right side didn't really hold any charge at all and would turn off all on it's own. So I'm returning mine and going to probably buy something nicer
Yeah I really liked the sound quality too, especially for the price.
My problem exactly
Had these headphones. they broke, but skull candy has replaced them. however I get the feeling they have a design flaw as ive seen so many bad reviews. i have my replacements but i think im just going to sell them to some other sucker
Control works. But no sound from right, bought them used. :(
Best 30$ I ever spent !!! I’ve used them for 1 year for like 3 hours a day I sweat alot and they work fine for me ( told my self id buy some air pods when they break but they still going strong )
I got mine this week, $8.16 Office Depot special price. Blue color. They sound pretty well. Just some interference with three songs Monday night, I hope it won't happen again. My phone is a Moto G60. No problem pairing them. Thanks
Yeah I got mine yesterday and they aren’t connecting together
My right side just stoped working after a month , cant charge it
This problem i had me too with a skullcandy wire jib
Figured it out i will post it tomorrow
Just bought same pair. Same issue happened, exactly, within two weeks!
Now I feel better that mine last a couple of weeks longer lol
Mine had the left earbud not charging out of the box
Yup this happened to me today and my right one won't connect to my left on and and keeps flashing guess I'm buying some new ones
Try turning Bluetooth off. Remove buds from case and turn the power off left bud then place it back in its case then turn the power off right bud and put it back in its case and then turn Bluetooth back on and remove from case.
I have the same problem except the right one just stopped working all together
Does the right one continue to blink red and blue
@@binladin8895 I have the same issue
Mine too
These are my go-to earbuds. They sound super amazing for the $30 I spent. I have used these every single day for at least 5 hours a day listening to music/podcasts for a whole year now and has never given me any problems.
Yeah I was very happy with mine until the issues started with the right earbud. Left one still works great. My brother has a pair of skullcandies for a few months now as well and he has had no issues. I guess that's just how technology is.
Yeah hell yeah this guy cry baby ignore him crying
@@SzymczykProductionswhat ?
Bought a pair today from best buy. Do I simply return them and look for offer options?
@@techmobilemore the right one gave up in less than 24 hours. Just returned it.
@@techmobilemore less than an hour in my left is now quieter than the right
does anyone know how to fix my sound issue? it sounded good but it started sounding like a wish pair of ear buds all of a sudden
Anyone else’s left earbud dim?
I have a problem to where my phone is considering my pair completely separate devices and I can only connect to one and have quality audio at a time. Of i connect to both it sounds like they're underwater. The right one is even trying to pair which only the left one should be able to do. Please, does anyone have ANY tips? I've reset my phone, unsynced and resynced the pair countless times. I've charged them and made sure BOTH were charging and nothing is working. Is there anything I can but give up or trash them?
Wish I had a fix for you but have never encountered that problem before.
My right earbud doesn't want to turn on I left them to charge last night and when I woke up it just didn't wanted to turn on
@@techmobilemore this is the second time that it happened to me
same but it was with my left one and im so pissed idk what to do anymore
@murali vadla YOU ARE A GOD THANK YOU!!
I’ve had these for 3 days and the right one will not pair at all. Nothing I try works. I might return them and just buy beats wireless earbuds
I've been using skull candy since I was like 14 (I'm 18 now) and I'm just done I think I'm gonna get a diffrent brand I always run into issues with the jib true
My right one doesn’t have sound at all anymore, I’ve had mine for 3 weeks
The right earbud still works great for me but the left barely produces any sound.
I don't know if someone's gonna read this, but, what kind of bluetooth earbuds would you recommend that can have quality, noise cancelling (if it's possible) and are kind of cheap? Or at least, which are the ones that you can say that lasted the most and were the best for you?
I had these exact Jib True 2 twice. The first ones just randomly stopped charging, so I changed them. With the second ones happened the same, but watching a video, I got to know that it was something with the charging port so I could fix it. I was going on the bus today, and of a sudden, the right earbud just disconnected. It didn't charge and wasn't responding at all :( right now, it just randomly turned on.
They're amazing earbuds from my experience, I've loved the quality with the sound, but they have lots of problems. I just hope they can last a little bit more.
My right one stopped working
yall could anyone help, i got the same one of these and straight out of the box one earbud wont connect to the other, ive tried everything and it def dont work.
My right one cuts in and out badly and I had continuous charging issues with them not charging at all even while plugged in
Same
Your video lead the way to the solution 😃
got mine for my birthday in october they won’t charge anymore :/
Clean the tabs
I am having an issue with right side it don't charge no more what should I do
Have you tried contacting Skullcandy to see if it's covered under warranty?
Mine don’t pair together any tips
here to see because I just got mine and charged it before using, the right side could not even charge or turn on at all, and it's brand new! That's the problem!
Yeah, never a good feeling to receive a defective product, regardless of the price. But to be fair even expensive items are sometimes defective. I guess that's a risk we as consumers have to prepared for.
Go into the media output that should show the volume levels per side. You can also sync the to buds together to avoid this problem where the one side volume is lower than the other
Bro my left ear isn’t working & it’s the first day! I’m definitely taking them back
I can’t get them to pair with iPhone 12.
Nice elantra
Lol. Thanks, its great on gas!
Huge let down, these could’ve been great for the price point. My left earbud connects, but audio only comes out the right earbud. I expected better from skull candy at least.
Mine is like that too my right earbud connects but the audio gone my left side is alright
@@kalanbegay5537 same
@@adamchristianrademaker ik how to fix just turn of bluetooth and forget the devices and put them back in a case, wait a few seconds and press the button on both ear buds 4 times until the light is blinking. turn bluetooth back on and put them in your ears, press find a bluetooth device and u should see it as 1. just connect it and you should hear audio out of both ear buds. it worked for me so idk
@@sheluvky4653 nope didn't work
i found that if i put them back in the case and then took them out the right earbud works again and it may have to do with not having being pressed into the case to charge. its a pain but you might still be able to get some use out of them.
im searching something that telling why my jib ve white colour.
Yep the right earphone for me does not work
My left earbud is flashing red.....what does that mean and how do I fix it?
Wish I could help but no longer have these.
it happen to me too
Ive had these for probably 3 months, left ome ear bud out by accident and now the case can only charge with them out and it dosnet charge my headphones. Waist of money. 2nd pair of skullcandy pods ive gotten. Sesh eve sucks too. Both open in the case by themselves. Sesh eve you need BOTH BUDS OUT TO USE BOTH. Meaning IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT ONE BY ITSELF IT WONT WORK. Jib was cool untill they broke for no reason after less then 3 months of having them. Not worth it in my opinion
Right one stop working after 1 month
it just stopped working for me
Just got mine and my right earbud goes in and out
I got them for 20 dollars at Best Buy and after 5 weeks, one side would not turn on anymore.
My right side bud not working what i do
Wish I had a good answer. You can try returning it or see if there is a warranty maybe. Good luck!
Someone on this thread said how to fix them m. It really works. Mine have worked fine since I bought them like 8-10 months ago. But the sound is great I just couldn’t get them to pair together. …. I GOT IT TO WORK! This is what you do. Let the earbuds both die individually once they are both completely dead put them in the charging case with the charging case on the charger before taking the earbuds out make sure they’re completely turned off hold the button for 10 seconds on both of them once they’re turned off at the same time simultaneously press the button on the side of the earbud with both earbuds four times each and take them out at the same time and remember to (disconnect your Wi-Fi and forget the device before doing these steps). After pressing the bottom on each side 4 times while still in the case they will both blink red then blue after you can take them out abs connect to your wifi and this will sink together
Walmart is selling them for $20 so I’m here to see if its even worth that.
The build and sound quality is good but I am still having volume issues with the right pair. Sometimes it works fine and other times it doesn't.
Microphone doesn’t work what’s up with that 😢
Mine was the left one... And it still hasn't worked
Yeah, too bad we both ended up with defective units. I know others who have bought earbuds from them that have worked really well so I guess we both just got unlucky.
My earbuds aren't even paired to each other. Can anyone help me fix them??
Not sure, sorry man.
I bought beats wireless 200$ last me less than one year. Bought another beats wireless for 160$ lasted me 6months. They told I can repair these, nope 👎
Yeah proves that no matter the brand, there is always a chance of defects.
@@techmobilemore quality control?
I’ve had mine for a few months and I haven’t had that issue it’s probably just something wrong with yours
Hello Everyone,
I had a similar problem however my right earbud completely stopped working & turning on, I noticed that many other people had the same problem and I figured out a fix that worked for me.
(Make sure you have Bluetooth off and unpair your earbuds from the device you're using before doing this.
1) Put your earbuds back in the case and charge them. (I done this overnight)
2) Take the earbuds out of the case and wait for both earbuds to completely turn off.
3) Touch and hold the button on each earbud for 10 seconds.
4) Sync and Reconnect your earbuds back to your device and the earbuds should work (It worked for me so apologies if it didn't work for you)
I hope this helped. 👍
Thanks for sharing this!
does the problem happened again after you not do the steps above for a long time?
@@AchmadFauzizil It's been around a week and a half and I've not had any problems yet.
My JLB true only $29 out door $32 dollar
I would not buy these earbuds . Mine lasted 2 weeks tops and now the left ear bud has no sound coming out very annoyed!🤯🤯
Did you get any fix pls let me know
Rubbish ear buds. My right ear bud has no sound
@@murphyditshego5572 😢
The volume on my isn't very loud and the higher the volume, I get a static noise in the background
Never really had the static noise on mine but the volume on one side has drastically dimmed.
Bro went and got some broke the very next day
SkullCandy needs to be put out of business
Why? Sometimes a company unintentionally puts out a bad product. People make mistakes. Get your money back.
My brother has a pair of skullcandies and he has had no issues. That's electronics for you, every now and then you get a defective product.
That's wack , at least I only paid $19 . We'll see how it goes
The JIB Truly trash 🗑!! I was highly upset. Now one of my earbuds are working. I tried to pair them and EACH EARBUD CONNECTED TO MY BLUETOOTH… 👉🏾👉🏾 SEPARATELY!!
Lol. To be fair my bro has a different pair of skullcandy and they have worked great for him. I guess every product, especially electronics, will have a few defective units
What's up with this right ear side, I got mine for one week now and the right doesn't charge anymore
I noticed that too. Almost always the right side.
Things are junk i use one at a time often and they constantly disconnect from each other
Update: if you learn and memorize how to connect them to each other they're good earbuds but make a point to memorize the procedure
same thing happened to me. The right one died.
well they're less than 50 dollars what did you expect
Bro this is so trash literally I got it for like 10 hours later the Bluetooth is messed up one earbud has its individual connection and there’s two Jib trues in the devices section which is really getting me fusterated
Man that sucks to hear. Atleast I got three or four weeks out of my pair before the issues started.
Try turning off Bluetooth and then powering off left bud and putting it back in its case then powering off right bud and placing it back in its case. Turn Bluetooth back on and remove buds from case. They should pair together
The damn thing keeps stopping for like a second. Is annoying
Bro the left one became trash and then the right one became trash and the left one got better, not they are both trash with volume.
Yeah. Mine started working properly again for a weeks and then the problem came back again. One of them still works perfectly though lol.
I smashed mine. LOL Cheaply made shit. I'm use the Bose brand. More expensive, but well worth it.
bro you got scammed it need to be for 30

@@biged680 got them for 19 at Walmart

My right earbud stopped working the day after i bought them.
Maybe Scullcandy should stick to wired earbuds. No more WIRELESS. They suck
My bro has a pair of wireless earbuds from them and he says they work great. I guess we just got unlucky with a defective unit.
The right ear bud flashes and works just fine, the left just doesn't switch on but charges fine. These headphones are garbage and a waste of time and money
Sorry to hear that. I remember a few people posting solutions in the comments for various issues with these headphones. Not sure if there is a solution for your specific problem but perhaps you can take a look if you have the time. Either way, all the best!
earwax
Maybe!
Seame problem here..
Yes, it's a very common problem apparently.
Mine work great. Love them so far. Been about a month no issues.
These things pluckin suck
I recently picked up a pair of Jlab wireless headphones from bestbuy for about $30 Canadian and been using them for month now with no issues.
DO NOT BUY!!!!!!
Ugh cry baby
