This is absolutely gorgeous on you, Lisa! And yes, so fab for nursing! I love how ours look totally different and that we used slightly different techniques throughout. Thank you for collaborating with me!
I love the set up of your sewing videos! Because you talk and reference the dress throughout the video makes it so much easier to follow! This is a must make for me!
Don't sew much anymore. 45 yrs ago, I was making all my work suits & dresses. I had a blouse that I had bought & I loved it. Needless to say I had several blouses made from that blouse. I made a pattern on freezer paper so I could make it over & over. This brings back lots of memories of sitting at my machine for hours on end. Tyfs I love that dress, looks adorable on you. Mary
It’s so versatile, dress it up or down. I hate trying to fit a pattern to myself. So I usually make a pattern off of something simple that I bought and love the way it fits. I was taught the “correct” way to sew, but I love how fearless you are with your sewing!
I just found your channel and I love all your videos!!! I’m so hooked at your creativity and your lifestyle. I’m in my mid 40s and now hope to live this way. I bought a lot of real estate over my lifetime & now I am ready to sell everything, buy my dream property cash and truly live a simple, debt free life until the day I go to my real home. God bless and keep up doing your best!
Really nice video. I love your channel. I’ve been sewing for about 60 years. I enjoyed your instructions. You made it look so simple. Your dress turned out really nice.
How in the world do you make everything look SO EASY. Your sourdough bread. Your sewing. Your decorating. Your house keeping. Not jealous. Just curious. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. I just plain love them!
I've been looking online for months for a dress like this, but I can't afford any of the options I found. This is perfect!! Now to get my 2.5 month old to sleep so I can make this.
This dress is so lovely. I'm also nursing and it is so hard to find dresses that fit that need. I love how you paid attention to aligning all the stripes, that's what makes a garment look expensive and worth the money. Very very beautiful!
You have inspired me to learn to sew. Finally. I always wanted to but never really took an action. And you look amazing. I will have to look for a fabric and try to sew this dress! Xxx
Lovely, stylish, breezy, simple! Yes, I've learned to prewash fabric before using, especially since lots of fabrics also contain sizing chemicals, and I actually had a severe allergic reaction to some unwashed new fabric this summer! My eyes were miserable and blistered for weeks before I figured out the cause. I'm not sure what the chemical was, but it cannot be healthy... So I thought I would share this additional reason with you, since I know you care so much about avoiding harmful chemicals. 💙🌿
I came from the DIY Mommys channel. You just gained a new subscriber. Ha ha! Like you, I loosely follow patterns when I sew. I've always eyeballed and used my best judgment. I recently gained my late grandmother's serger. I've been waiting for a project to motivate me to get it set up, this is it! I'll be hitting your playlist as well. 😘
Very pretty! I love dresses like that...very comfortable, but you can easily make them more ‚dressy‘ with a matching belt and nice shoes. And they are suitable for so many fabric patterns...from bold uni colours over flowers to geometric shapes like stripes...so adaptable! And they go through the seasons well, since they can also be worn with thighs and/or boots and a cardigan.
Lisa, I learned, while making a doll dress that you cab put the sleeve in before you sew the side seam of your bodice together. It’s so much easier to put in a sleeve, then sew the bottom seam of the sleeve right along with the bodice side seam. It’s “sew” much easier. 😉. Cute dress though!! 😍
This is just so cute!! I want to make one without buttons though. My nursing days are done to say the least.😂 (Breast Cancer) This week I’m going to try this one and one of your little girls’ one. So so cute!! ❤️🙏
I don’t sew but I would buy this dress at the store! Such cute fabric and I’m also a nursing mama right now and I’m not able to wear any of my dresses so this is perfect!!!
The only thing I have to watch out for with the notches (if I'm skipping them) is that sometimes the sleeves have a front and a back so they have to go in in a specific orientation. Usually the only way to tell is with the notches. Otherwise it's usually OK as long as the pieces are cut correctly to size.
I watch these vids from beginning to end even though I have no knack, no interest and no love for sewing. Lol! I admire those that can do it so maybe that's why I enjoy the vids! You did a beautiful job! 👍
You just keep getting cuter and cuter!! I love this dress! I think I see three in my future- one for me and one for both my girls. Thanks for sharing! 💛
That dress is adorable and fits you perfectly!!!! You're right....you could make it in different fabrics and make a whole wardrobe with them!!! LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!! :)
PS ~ on facebook I use my name as "Shelley" instead of my name like it is here as "Michele" but I am one & the same person ~ either way I love what you do @ The Farmhouse on Boone!!!
This might be the most pleasant sewing tutorial I've ever watched! (Great videography style, great fabric and style choice, and a nice voice to listen to!) :)
Oh my gosh I LOVE your version as well! ❤❤❤ I made placemats and needed to wash one that was stained and now it's different from the rest 😂 I love all your tips. Yours and Christina's tips combined are super helpful! Thanks for sharing! 😄
Ok. This is completely adorable. I want one!!!! I’m sure if I put a ton of effort into it I could do it. But would you consider just making me one??? In this striped fabric????? 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I love this dress! This is so me! And yes, a Jean jacket would look adorable with this! I so, so wish I knew how to sew! My Hubby bought me a sewing machine about 12 yrs ago and I was so intimidated trying to thread the bobbin and run thread through it I put it back in the box and it has lived in the top of my closet. Maybe one day I will attempt it again. Take care!!! Oh....I got out my Fall Pillow I got from you and I love it!!! Need to head over and see your new goodies!!!
I think you should dust off that thing and give it a try. The first few projects won't be great, but once you get the hang of it, sewing is sooo much fun!! So glad you're enjoying your pillow. Thanks for your business!!
It’s beautiful! For me it would be a challenge but wow you always do such an amazing job! The stripes are so pretty! You should make more you did a beautiful job! How fun!
Oh my gosh. You are absolutely beautiful. You did an amazing job!!!!! Thanks for sharing! I may be brave enough to give this a try after watching your tutorial. 😊
I Love the way you sew... Patterns are great for shapes and sizes but then I get bogged down by makings lol. I'm a rebel 😋🤣🤣🤣 And you have no idea how grateful I am for the sleeve gathering tip... I've made sleeves before a few times, but the past couple of garments I've really struggled and gave up lol. Now I know I can try something else. Thank you 💜💜💜 xx
Omg LOVEEEEEE this dress!!!!! You’re Channel never seizes to amazing me. Your originality and videos since your husband has been home have improved too. You’re doing amazing!! I’m working on creating my own store on my acerage selling farm fresh eggs, organic home grown beef, all my own soaps and lotions and chapsticks, but I think it would be super cool to add some sewing pieces. I’m a beginner sewer so pray for me girl :) thank you for continuing to inspire me.
So Cute! Truly does look simple to sew! I can see this basic style in many types of fabric for Spring/Summer, Autumn/Winter, too! You are so good with these tutorials! Your instructions are always so precise and easy to follow! You are one talented young woman! You Rock, Girl!
Oh.my.gosh. I've never sewed anything, but I am seriously going to give the dress a try. Its SO cute. My mom is giving me a sewing machine for my birthday. How much fabric did you use?
Turned out great and it looks cute on you. I'm also a rule breaker when it comes to patterns. I do use them sometimes but never follow the directions as I use a server and most pattern directions don't have serger instructions I also use a cutting mat and rotary cutter because I like nice clean cut lines. I rarely use pins so a clean cut is my guide for sewing straight. Also if you read this, I have a couple super cute child dress patterns from farbenmix that I'd love to share with you for your girls if you'd like. Feliz is one and the other one is vida I made vida out of moda fallback in time fabric and Christmas fabric in the other
Wasn’t thinking about sewing. Wasn’t considering sewing. Thanks to this I’ve bought a ton of stuff I really shouldn’t have for a new hobby lol.
This is absolutely gorgeous on you, Lisa! And yes, so fab for nursing! I love how ours look totally different and that we used slightly different techniques throughout. Thank you for collaborating with me!
Yes!! I was hoping that would be the case too! Makes for a perfect collab. 🤗
I love the set up of your sewing videos! Because you talk and reference the dress throughout the video makes it so much easier to follow! This is a must make for me!
Thank you!! They are a lot of work to make, so I'm so glad you appreciate it! 😊

murphy1384 thanks Mary!
Oh my gosh! It's adorable! I would totally buy this in a store, but it's so much better when you can make it yourself! LOVE it!!!
Thanks so much Kristi!!
How in the world did this not show up in my feed for two days?! I LOVE this dress!!
It’s so versatile, dress it up or down. I hate trying to fit a pattern to myself. So I usually make a pattern off of something simple that I bought and love the way it fits. I was taught the “correct” way to sew, but I love how fearless you are with your sewing!

@@FarmhouseonBoone you are very welcome. Your mom and dad must be so proud of you.
I luv your dress. I have a dress pattern, very similar to yours, and I never get tired of making it, with all different fabrics. Thx you for the demo.
You are so welcome!
How in the world do you make everything look SO EASY. Your sourdough bread. Your sewing. Your decorating. Your house keeping. Not jealous. Just curious. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. I just plain love them!

Yes!!! You will love it!
It would be great to see the rest of your dresses as well. Repetition helps me and it’s so fun to watch! 😊

Thank you so much!
I live both of your fabric choices & colors! Beautiful dresses!
Thank you! I love that they turned out so different, yet I love them both!

Yes!! I want to make 5 for my fall uniform.

Cindy Urban good idea!
That dress turned out so cute and it has pockets!
Yes! I love that it has pockets!
Such a good tip for doing pockets. Thanks for sharing.

Very good video. Nice pacing, not too slow, so doesn't get boring, yet slow enough to be instructional.
I don’t sew but I would buy this dress at the store! Such cute fabric and I’m also a nursing mama right now and I’m not able to wear any of my dresses so this is perfect!!!
2 of my favourite channels, what better way to start the weekend? Loved picking up different hints from each of you.
Thank you so much!

I didn't know that. The sleeves look pretty symmetrical in this pattern.

I love it
Just found you! Great tutorial. I love your dress! Nice job!
Oh.my.gosh. I've never sewed anything, but I am seriously going to give the dress a try. Its SO cute. My mom is giving me a sewing machine for my birthday. How much fabric did you use?
Oh man, this makes me want to try making one! Can I take on another project? Haha.
I would love to make this but without the buttons so that it is easier for me as a beginner. Do you have any suggestions?
Turned out great and it looks cute on you.
I'm also a rule breaker when it comes to patterns. I do use them sometimes but never follow the directions as I use a server and most pattern directions don't have serger instructions

I made vida out of moda fallback in time fabric and Christmas fabric in the other
Yes!! I think thats why I used to be scared of sewing. The instructions sound so rigid and scary. All I need now is the shape!!
You look so cute!
Thank you so much!
You look adorable in this dress!!. How many yards approx. did your dress need?
New sewer. Thank you!
You make it look so easy.....
;-;
You have made it look easy once again. How do we go about printing the pattern on big paper like at staples for example?
I just called the store and the guy gave me a direct email address to send the pattern too. It was super easy!
Farmhouse on Boone thank you Lissa.
Do you have any tips on how to make this sleeveless?
The dress looks so cute on you. How long did it take you to make the dress and how much did it cost for all the material. Thank you
Sandy J it was about 20 for the fabric. The pattern cost me too, but I plan to use it again and again. I would say the dress took 3ish hours.
