I gotta give XTB allot of credit, this is the best MP Springer and what’s impressive is that all three modes look good which we hardly see with triple changers. Yes it has its issues like the diecast shoulders paint chipping( XTB is making plastic ones replacement) still worth owning.
@@arjinderkaur9960I think Saltus goes too much for robot mode and it ruin his other modes, especially his helicopter mode. This is probably the best as it hits on all 3 modes without much sacrifices. If you display him mostly in robot, Saltus is a great option as I like the robot and car mode butt not so much the helicopter.
Helicopter mode is incredibly good, and a fantastic facesculpt on bot mode. Those are the two details that really struck me as setting this apart from the other options out there
I think this has sold me on the figure. He really does look like how I want Springer to look. A lot of the other ones make him look like a roided-up behemoth (ESPECIALLY Unique Toys Allen). But yeah, I think I'm gonna swipe some clear coat across the edges of those shoulder slabs.
He has a double jointed knee, when the grey plastic folds together their is a peg that tabs into the knee joint if you pull the leg out or undo the foot you can unplug the peg and there is a secondary hard ratchet located within the upper shin for a double jointed knee that is almost as good as the MMC
I order mine on the BIG BAD TOY STORE Friday sale. I saved 40% on this guy. Emgo, thanks for your videos. Without your reviews and transformations I'd be freaking lost. Much love brother
Man i love your review cause you can make frustrated transformation seems so easy, especially in those shoulder section, other reviewer i watched has problem with it but you handle it smooth like butter...
I guess I'm the odd person out cause I think the Open Play Big Spring redo (can't remember what they changed the name to) is the best Springer. And I agree about the die cast is overdone in this one, you have to be careful how you use it so that the figure isn't too top heavy.
Thank you for this. I got the XTB Springer because the others just had too many things i didnt like and your comparisons helped me confirm that I made the right decision.
I still like the FT better for bot mode - XTB does two things that I just have a hard time overlooking: the chest not really tabbing in and the leg ratchets being too wide. I'm guessing the chest is die-cast so it won't move around as much even without locking in.
Yes it's also painted poorly though, which is a little annoying, like those shoulder pauldrons chipping paint. Virtus is not a horrible figure, but those things detract from it being a homerun. With some poor design choices for the ankles.
Nought to fifteen, that's a lot of sad onions next to the Sad Pacman there. I know Springer stuck with his Cybertronian vehicle modes, but I always found the rear of the car mode bing so much narrower to be a little wonky for me. But that's an issue with the character model that this toy works to emulate (along with the G1 toy). Still, it looks pretty good, and if I were going for MP-class figures, I would consider this one.
Actually ao happy that it has the different styles for the headsculpt cause one of the things that was keepking from getting this was that face sculpt but the alternste faces are much more animation accurate. Now literally the onky thing that's better on the fanstoys is the chest. I REALLY wish they made the chest vents have more depth like thr Fanstoys because if they did it'd be the definitive Springer
My daughter loves watching your reviews with me 😎 Btw.. flying things do roll as they should. I’ve been in a Blackhawk helicopter while the pilots were practicing “touch-and-go’s”! Hey, I didn’t know those were a thing for them, either! 😮
Nice review as always. Same pose I display mine in. Regarding the diecast, and specifically the pauldrons, that paint is coming off regardless. I haven't scraped mine and it was just flaking off, and even yours are missing paint in the close-ups. Just a terrible decision to make them diecast to begin with (so much so they XTB is issuing plastic replacement parts). I had a litany of QC issues with mine. I had to disassemble the legs to fix misaligned ratchets, the lot (there's actually a secondary knee joint that requires you to open the leg to use). Loose sword, weapons not tabbing, paint scraping in other areas, bits not extending or tabbing properly. Very typically XTB unfortunately. I find that extending the landing gear on the feet in bot mode makes him more stable as well, but it's definitely a pose and leave on the shelf piece. Well, until my replacement parts get here.
Anyone here a bit concerned that the feet is held together by a tiny plastic bar, that have to support the weight of the entire figure? Looks like it'll break eventually due to all the weight burden
This guy looks really cool, tbh. I'm still more likely to hunt down the Generations /Thrilling 30 version of him, but if I had the money. I'd swing for this dude.
Emgo the side blades on his legs they turn..and on his side arms has that pop up gun on both arms..i am glad you change your mind ..to me he's the best..
I love the look of this one so much. I think it's by far the best looking MP scale Springer. It's just too bad there are so many QC and build quality issues. Typical XTB: looks gorgeous, great accessories, good articulation....but so many problems. :(
Love the alt modes the bot is good in places but the back pack is a no for me. And not fond of the chest piece. I'll stick with robot hero. Maybe MMC might give it a try or fantoys will give him another go?
There are actually a few prototype flying cars that kinda transform between a 'car' mode and a 'flight' mode, admittedly most are planes rather than helicoptors. Toyworld are also working on a dropkick and shatter from Bumblebee that transform into both earth modes
Had this guy on preorder for 4yrs with TFSOURCE till they screwed me by canceling my pre-order which would have been for $125 and now it’s $199. Thanks TFSOURCE!
Mmm... I think I still like the Ocular Max better for 3p MP scale... and T30 overall, despite having never been into the comics. Its robot mode isn't G1-y but it is pretty cool, and the vehicle modes actually look like vehicles rather than a wad of random geometric shapes.
The only thing I don't like about the look of his robot mode is his chest , I think the green part should have been bigger but other than that great figure and review
Mine was chipped already in package..not something I did. I took pictures before I even transformed it. 🧐 Do they in fact send some reviewers hand selected copies?
For me I feel like the best overall Springer package is the Robot Hero KO of Open & Play Big Spring. Other companies do have advantages in certain categories, but as a total package I felt O&P got the most right, then Robot Hero fixed the face and added paint. I haven't actually bought Robot Hero though since I have O&P but keep thinking about it, so I don't know how it's quality came out (never did watch videos either). Personally I rarely feel like XTB figures look good, but I considered this one because I feel like the translucent blade effect for helicopter mode looks awesome. In the end I decided it was too expensive for just that gimmick, but seeing even you not bother showing it on camera I'm inclined to be glad I didn't. Of all the reviewers I watch you tend to be the most willing to do troublesome or annoying things. I would guess it was due to not wanting to take it back apart to put back together again. Not being able to store it back into the box easily would bother me.
@@emgo316 I apologize, my wording wasn't clear enough it seems. I was specifically referring to showing putting it together. You showed it assembled and described putting it together. Of course it could very easily be me reading to much into it.

正直な話、RobotHero RH-02 AIRWOLF(OpenandPlay BigSpringのリメイク)の方がずっといいですよね、安いし。
