One friend of mine told me that a University in Alberta wouldn't give him credit for courses he studied at UBC. My late husband earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the U of T and taught highschool in Toronto in the late 1960s. Years later, after raising a family, he presented his transcript to UVic along with a published book of poems, hoping to earn a master's degree in English (of some type) and they told him he would have to go back and repeat third year. This was in 1987. Perhaps things have changed since then.
