That's actually a closer translation of the Japanese term than "compensation". This story comes from a country where people can do quite well forcing their ex lovers and THEIR lovers to pay up for messing with them. Even the THREAT of a lawsuit will get most people to pay because otherwise the loser will be landed with the court costs and lawyer fees. For BOTH sides.

Maybe it has a consequence as far as bullying, but maybe also there’s someone in the comments or wherever that has that level of common sense to help me out. I know today’s climate is shit, and it’s a shame since we’re all humans and with every freedom out there today not much else matters. Men and women, women and men… they don’t need to be fighting. Yes there are troubles nowadays and still a little inequality, but the world doesn’t need feminists by name. The world needs women to stand up for their rights when it really counts so that its impact is felt and not scoffed at because of all the “crying wolf”, and men to help them - not to pander, and not for said women to degrade for daring to be human, but because it’s morally right. If you disagree with a feminist today, yes there maybe some backlash - for most people it isn’t too severe, but just like standing up for women’s rights, the battle for your own right to speak with your own voice and not the usual hive mind is even more important. Don’t worry about feminism. It worked itself out in the past and whatever still needs to be sorted out will be. Just support it obviously, but don’t hate. Men and women both need each other, despite what modern feminists say. We should all be important in each others eyes. I couldn't be friends with Jay at the end. It's one thing he doesn't want anything to do with Anna his ex-wife, I'm no fan of divorce but in this case it was a just reason to do so and scriptural. And refusing to have contact with her that brings spiritual poison on his soul, yeah is right. But he disowns his own daughter which is both wrong and unscriptural, a parent man or woman NEVER has a right to disown their son or daughter, REGARDLESS of the wrong that child does or has done to them. Even if they were to hurt you again and again ad nauseum you have no right to disown them or God shall disown YOU. I'd drop my association with Jay and tell him to delete my phone numbers, landline and mobile from his registry and delete me off any and all social media we are both on in common as well and mutually block one another to prevent any attempts at communication then I'd have a lawyer send him a cease and desist warning letter directing him in hard language not to attempt to contact me on social media by alternate accounts, phone from alternate numbers without proper notice to said attorney if it involves a legal matter involving both sides and to stay away physicially in public and not send anyone on his behalf as any sort of intermediary or to keep tabs on me to report back to him on my activities. Only exception is again, legal matters and notice must be first served on my legal counsel to arrange the meeting in neutral location. Any violations of the no contact directions in his letter will result in judicial action against this "father". Order of protection on behalf of myself, and his daughter Janice to keep Jay away from both of us, for at least the next 3 to 8 years as I understand the time limits on protection orders in my state.

She chose to go through with the wedding so that right there invalidates her claim that the wedding was cancelled because he cheated and any compensation, she claims he owes her. If I were a judge, she would be responsible for at least half the wedding fees. The only compensation she's entitled would come from Rebecca for assaulting her at the wedding. In fact Adam should sue the CEO for unlawful termination. What kind of woman is Martha that she'd just use her family contacts for revenge. I know these stories originate in Asia, (mostly Japan) but they’re portrayed as being in America. You and your lawyer don’t set any amounts to begin with either. You can ask for an amount, but a judge in court decides the value of any compensation. Provided it applies and in this scenario it doesn’t.
