Drop D always sounds fantastic on a HD28 👍. That reverbing BOOM 💥 when you hit that tuned down E string is wonderful! I plan to ride down to Nashville soon to the guitar center and try a HD35. Never played one of those. It’s got lighter bracing than the HD28 and should be ever more volume . Gotta try a J45 42 banner too
@@adam_michael540 Ordered it from Guitar center. It was during covid and thought maybe it was all I could get. I don’t blame guitar center, I blame Martin. They never should have allowed such an expensive instrument with that crappy of a looking neck to leave their factory. Really blotchy up to the fifth fret. I have emailed them a couple times over the past few months with no response. I expected more out of them. I think I will drive up to their facility some day and carry it in. I love the way it plays though.
@@bigal25938 Martin spent several years not dying their ebony. It’s a perfectly fine fretboard with natural ebony coloring. Ebony is not naturally completely black. So Martin really has nothing to owe in that regard. I don’t know why anyone would spend thousands of dollars for an instrument they don’t love when there’s plenty of others to choose from.
Just had one delivered yesterday.. 2021 vintage. What a responsive guitar. Does what it does, and boy does it. Hard to put it down.
Great demo :)
Sounds great and awesome playing!
I have a J45 Standard in vintage sunburst. I’m hoping to check out the HD28 tomorrow!

What strings you using on it here? Has a good bright sound.
The fingerboard on yours looks great. The one on mine looks horrible. Blonde streaks and 2 toned.
Why buy it then if you didn’t like it..?

@@bigal25938ebony fingerboards are all natural. That’s how the wood looks. That’s how it’s supposed to look. If you don’t like it, dye it
It sounds better without the pickup
Much better without pickup JL
