  • In the late summer of 2021 we set out to ride our bikes from Rome to Venice in Italy, we wanted to take the less beaten patch and ventured on gravel-roads across mountains, through beautiful ancient cities and gorgeous valleys.
In the 20 days on the road we enjoyed the Italian culture, fueled our tired legs with the best food in the world, watched the sun rise every single morning and petted every cat that would let us.
Told in 5 episodes - from the early morning take-off from Copenhagen, touchdown in Rome to check-in in Venice - be sure to stay tuned to get a look into all the planning, the routes, the impressive amount of Espresso-shots consumed and of course the beautiful nature.

I just saw your Reddit post! I can't wait for the full video. Quick question, I'm from Canada and planning on doing something similar. I won't be bringing my bike. Is there a place in Venice that I could rent a bike or perhaps buy one ? Should I bring my own pannier bags ? My own tent ?

      Hi Alwin,
Thanks for reaching out. Episode 1 should be ready in a couple of weeks :)
Bike Project Venezia [bike-project-di-sandro-volpato.business.site/] was extremely helpful when we needed boxes for our bikes - so we cold bring them home safely. You will probably be able to buy a bike in that store - but definitely call them beforehand because it's not a large store and they didn't seem to have a lot i stock. They don't speak a lot of English though.
Bring your own bags for sure - it's a tricky trip to pack for, we'll go into that in details in the episodes. But the Apidura bags are amazing [www.apidura.com/] and although it was not easy - especially for Ditte my GF :) we managed to squeeze everything into only 3 bags each - frame, saddle and handlebarbag.
We did not bring a tent, there is A TON of amazing places to stay on the way - and it's not too expensive, so we did the luxurious version of bike-packing.
I'll include GPS files with the exact routes to took, when i post the videos, so definitely stay tuned :)
      Best Henry

@@DidiandHenry the production of the video looks amazing already so im looking forward to the first episode. Right now my only concern is acquiring a bike and thats going to cost me a lot already (if i buy brand new) . As an alternative, I might hike from Florence to rome. Apparently thats a common thing to do. I did not know until i read a story on reddit.
