It's great to see a monolog I've never seen! Johnny is great. Doesn't matter if things run smooth or not!! It's always hilarious!! 😂😂😂
Great watching these old clips. I had never heard of Maureen Murphy, but she was funny. Even the trombone player was awake for her routine.
Being invited to sit next to Johnny was the biggest compliment a comic could receive back then.
I've never heard of Maureen Murphy, but she was absolutely brilliant here! Great Carson episode.
Hilarious monologue with an assist from the trombone guy and Ed!
At 6:25 Johnny mentions that it is Henry Kissinger's 58th birthday that night. Kissinger just died about a month ago at age 100.
He was the best host of The Tonight Show!
The Tonight Show name should have ended in 1992 when Johnny retired. The Tonight Show is and was JOHNNY CARSON. From 1992 it should have become Jay Leno Tonight, and then Conan O'Brien Tonight, and then Jay Leno again, and now Jimmy Fallon Tonight.
I grew up watching Johnny Carson and I have never seen this episode. She had a perfect delivery and was very funny.
Maureen Murphy was really funny. Best comedy routine I have heard in years.
Of course Maureen Murphy had to be really funny, since she did the best comedy routine you've heard in years.
The good old days of real talent and fun.
I have never seen Maureen Murphy before, but now I know where Rita Rudner got her routine from.
I have never heard Of maureen before but boy is she funny and with great timing
Maureen Murphy had perfect comedic delivery. Wish she was still around
She was great ...I think Johnny in Love
Rest in Peace, Maureen Murphy died Dec. 13, 2018
Kansas Art: what happened to her, do you know? She couldn't have been too old. She was a Dollard funnier than hell...
Was it covid?
@@CaseyWinehouse No, she passed away from stage 4 liver cancer. Covid didnt even exist yet for another 13 months. May she rest in peace, Dear Friend.
Just a normal night in the good old days!!!
God I miss this man!
Maureen Murphy was amazing! Lots of belly laughs, and the audience was really into her. I wonder whatever happened to her?
She's dead....
15 minutes ago, I had never heard of Maureen Murphy. Nice routine, too bad she didn't go on to be more successful.
Rip...Maureen
Ha! $300K in LA back on '81 is probably closer to $1.5 million today!
Back when late night was funny!!
This monologue is so dated. Even for 1981 lol. But Carson made it work. So bad it’s good
40 years later, 2021, the housing crisis is not better...
Do you have the whole show? I see Steve Lawrence was on this show.
Do you have the part with Steve Lawrence that you can post.
what ever happened to Maureen Murphy ??
Now, they're leaving the state in droves.
“Everything you say is not Gospel truth”You cant hear that in todays comedy
What happened to her. She's funny
Ms. Murphy is drop dead gorgeous and has a funny bone. How lucky any man would have been to call her his wife.
She had a 2nd appearance on Carson. Stay tuned,!
20% interest on loans.😅😂🤣😳
So that's where Larry Sanders got you mean the times that you were awake
Her routine would have been mildly amusing in 1961. In 1981 it was just painfully outdated.
How?
This woman is a scream🏖️
Couldn't see anything sleeping guy
