    Hello, how can I know if a uart is bidirectional? I got a geprc f4 stable flight controller in a very small quad copter and it doesn't have a telemetry pad just the sbus pin and TX 1 pad, I can't make it works with the r-xsr, did you use the normal smartport wire or from the "p" pad on the receiver?

    • @dwarfstarfpv2056

      So F4 boards are the most complicated when trying to get telemetry you're gonna have to use the uninverted signal from the r-xsr to get telemetry to work

    The SBUS pin on an Omnibus F3 FC, is it RX or TX? I was putting the S.PORT wire there, trying to get FPORT to work, but can't seem to get it working. I needed TX1 & Tx2 for GPS & S.Audio. Thanks

      Chuck Horton The s.port wire has to be hooked up to a TX pad, maybe you can use smart audio on a soft serial and have f.port on a TX uart

    I have searched everywhere and cannot find any information on my question. I’m using a Lumenier F4 AIO and not sure if the users are inverted or uninverted. It has a dedicated sbus pad but no dedicated telemetry pad. I already ordered the r-xsr and already I’m afraid I’m gonna ruin it just trying to get it to work lol

      No need to be afraid the new r-xsr has the uninverted pads on it and I've used them for smart port but not f.port but I have gotten f.port to work on a f4 omnibus without a telemetry pad so what I would do is when you get the receiver try regular sbus with the sbus pad make sure that works then you can try to flash the r-car with f.port and connect it to the TX pass and see if it works if not you will have to use the uninverted pad on the r-xsr

    • @dwarfstarfpv2056

      ridesoftail you just have to make sure you are hooking up to a bidirectional TX pad and also you need to put in the special commands in the CLI tab I've only gotten Fport to work once on an f4 board but on f3 and f4 boards with a Telemetry pad it's No problem

    would using f.port make it so that when using rxsr the wiring can connect without using the inversion hack on the newer cl facing f4S boards?

    • @dwarfstarfpv2056
      @dwarfstarfpv2056 6 років тому

      If the CL racing f4 fc has a dedicated telemetry pad you won't need to use the uninverted pad from the R-XSR you can just wire up the S.Port Wire to the telemetry pad and you'll have F.Port

    • @dwarfstarfpv2056
      @dwarfstarfpv2056 6 років тому

      Yes you can but you gotta make sure the UART your'e putting the smartport wire on is bidirectional, on F3 boards its not an issue but if you have like an omnibus f4 which doesn't have a dedicated telemetry pad then you'll need to either figure out which 1 UART is bidirectional or just use the uninverted signal from the smartport pad on the R-XSR

    Need help! NWhich telemetry output? In ports tab Smart Port? Frsky? Eh I've tried both... I have no idea why this isn't working I've done everything step by step. I've got the flex firmware, on everything, but either way the uart is the ports just won't stay in what i set it to, so something's screwing up. I'm using the slim+so i used the uninverted s. Port wire to go to tx3 on lumenier micro lux v3 so i wouldn't have to use soft serial inversion, and i used the cli set of commands for f4 with receiver uninverted.. I've got it set to fport, serial based. What am i missing? It's uart3 so i copied cli as was, used for 2(uart3) in0=uart/tx1 1=2 2=3.
