I'm always hopeful the economy will come back and the space will flourish again... it would cost a lot to knock it all down and rebuild everything.. depends
Hopefully people with a vision of what it could be and what it once was however, briefly was before I remember when this mole was built shortly there be thugs moved in a certain element of people would visit the restaurants like the twisted fork, run up huge bills, and then try not to pay when they were paying their bill they would start a riot. This happened more than once, then the lenient laws on minors committing crimes caused this to escalate, particularly in stores where they could rob the merchandise with impunity nice job, democrat mayors of Raleigh

This is what happens when you have a bunch of liberal Democrats bring their progressive ideas from up north they screw up their city and then moved to ours and ruined it too. Do us all favor. Keep your asses up north.
It was definitely vibrant at one time. Hopefully some businesses are able to use these unique buildings in the future and bring back some life to the space.
What they should do is renovate one of these buildings and use it as a “office space” for people who work from home. Would be dope to use a room to get work done in a office setting.
Whoa!!!!! What happened?!!!!! I remember when they first built this! I actually remember before it was even built. It was nothing but trees. I watched them build up that whole area, and when it was done, it was jumping! What in the world!
It held so much promise...and it did well for a few years for sure...at one point all of the addresses in the Commons were occupied by businesses. On the weekends the area was packed. It began having some issues, then 2019 came, and as with so many locations I feature on my channel...it was hit hard.
Government regulations and people being instilled with fear by the media to stay home during the years leading up to now...society self-destructed. People lost jobs... businesses went under, the governors and mayors were complicit, it was all by design. Part of the program. The Great Reset.
@@drivingdaily582 it was dead long before 2019. There was a history of gang activity at this mall which drove out a lot of businesses, as did resulting crackdowns on who could be at the mall and when. There are 2 other thriving malls in this metro area so people just shrugged and went to them instead.
Seeing this place abanded really messes up my childhood because my dad was the manager at one of the stores and my uncle was a pastry chef at a restaurant and I would visit all the time
I understand, I spent a lot of time there too, its crazy, I'll probably go back and do an updated video soon, the inside is not completely dead but the Town Commons part is really struggling, I wish businesses could come back, the buildings had a cool look to them.
Regulations put a lot of excellent destinations out of business for sure. If left alone, many would still be here. This how our history has unfolded for now, what the future holds...who knows? Thanks for watching.
That section , technically known as Triangle Town Commons, is absolutely dead. It's sad, the inside of the mall is still active but much less than say Crabtree Valley Mall.
I feel like everything there is just closing down, and it just looks sad. I’ve gone there so many times, I think they just need to use the buildings for other things.
Yea, its crazy because its such a large space, it would be cool if they set up something to bring people back out there so that businesses can start setting up again...it use to be so busy.
We get a professional baseball team and they’ll bulldoze this area and the problem is fixed. Is it a prime location? Not one bit with the amount of traffic that Capital Blvd already gets but…it makes sense.
Pretty much...media manipulated fears and driven government propaganda along with draconian regulations and guidelines, and the complicit public who perpetuated the planned demise of life the way we knew it.
@Dee Freeman There are a lot of factors in why malls decline, Nothing is 100 percent political, I'm sure no one can deny of course the years of 2019 and beyond didn't help, but there was certainly a laundry list of issues with the location prior to that. As another commenter mentioned gang activity did play a role, I even remember witnessing that play out a bit over the years. Lots of people attending, not a lot of buyers etc. However malls in general are not all dying. Crabtree Valley Mall for example is thriving currently.

So many memories. Sad that it's not the way it was anymore.

@@vipershipwreck A lot of factors, the gang stuff definitely played a part.
@@vipershipwreck Definitely big factors there you are spot on.

Convert it into a mixed use development of artists studios, small businesses and living spaces that are affordable.
Would be cool if they could use it for what it was originally intended for even.
Interesting ideas
How about no lol open the mall back
Twisted fork was a verry good spot
Had good food and deserts
A fire happend and they rebuilt
The pandemic came snd it wad never the same

It wasn’t the pandemic it was your sorry leaders
Wow..i haven't been there since pre pandemic 😮

Damn i aint know they shut that mall down !!!! Wow
@brianstample9227 so the mall itself is still going, but this outside part is mostly vacant

@@wan2865 You're right about the traffic it gets pretty bad going north on Capitol from 4-7pm
This is so sad. I do not understand why places like this are left to rot. Oh wait , liberal agendas.

@@drivingdaily582 Everything is not political! Poor planning and not catering to the right people sank the place. Malls are no longer popular anyway!
