Everything else has been extra, even though Riot does know that we all want more. Hence, the concept videos to at least have a stop-gap. Potentially they'll have more down the line OR they'll move onto something else and have those in their back pocket. Kinda like a, you thought we forgot about these songs? I like the concepting. It showcases a part of the behind the scenes process that goes into these videos before you get the final product.

I would have loved to see Kaisa and Bailey dancing together, Bailey deserves to be highlighted cuz she's super talented, but many of us wanted some Kaisa too, she's objectively the most overlooked member of KDA and she's barely in her own video, its just kinda a bummer.

Whereas you have Evelynn, Akali, and Ahri, who all have well crafted refined designs which fit their characters for their own reasons, Kai'sa's feels half-assed and rather uninspired especially context of her lore in which it becomes kind of detrimental to her character especially compared the other girls who's designs all compliment them, this becomes even more frustrating considering the alternatives in the concept art. Her current design has some good parts about it, however all of these things could have been expressed in the other more interesting designs while in my opinion taking the current things expressed in her design above and beyond where she is. As Kai'sa is now, her lore is rather bland not going anywhere as her personality is basically non-existent as of yet, which I also feel is connected to the fact that rather than going for a lore centric design they instead went for the profitable decision of making her a super-model. While I do appreciate beautiful characters, and I understand going for profitable designs, I don't think Kai'sa couldn't have been either of those things with a more inspired design. And now, even though they've doubled down her design with kda (which I very much like) she got the short end of the stick again as the others who were able to take inspiration from the their runeterran designs and lore, kai'sa ends up with none of that. Akali gets her punk rapper thing, Evelynn gets her rich dom thing, and Ahra gets her idol thing, and Kai'sa is kind of just... there. They give her her shoulder cannons but that goes back the original design being lacking, Akali gets her ninja thing along with her dress and part in the mv, Evelynn does too, and Ahri gets her whole kitsune thing along with the leading role. Kai'sa once again was just kind of there, she doesn't even get her own part in the song instead just filling the spots in between. It's really frustrating, I love kai'sa but she deserves so much better.

Which brings me to two: they probably mean concept video not as in to showcase or preview a prototype but a "music concept video" which usually revolves around a single theme, in this case dancing. Some are just artwork, some just have a video, some have playable 15 min gameplay content as proof of concept. It really depends on the concept itself. Its whatever the management decide is enough.
Let's talk about the good first... There is no doubt that Bailey Sok is an incredibly talented, up-and-coming dancer. What a privilege to collab with Riot, you can tell she had so much energy and so much FUN doing this, hats off! With that being said... This song is really good, and it's very energetic, perfect to lay the groundwork for Kai'sa, and we got nothing. The way they went over the texture and the tone of "Villain"; they could have gone over motion capture and insert Kai'sa here and there. And no, not just putting pictures of her trying to jumpscare you, it was almost tacky. What a missed opportunity, there's a lot left to be desired.

The problem is they set the audiences expectations too high with Villain. If anything, they should have treated each "concept video" with the same quality if they're gonna do it like this. Idk, make Kaisa dance alongside Bailey, or have a Kaisa scene where she dances for a good 30 seconds. In fact, they could have renamed this as a "Dance Video" instead of a vague title such as "concept video". You can see why a lot of people are disappointed after seeing Evelynn's concept video. Bailey Sok still killed it here though, she's an awesome dancer and we should still appreciate the effort they did. Sadly for the team whoever came up with this idea...ehhhh they could have put much more thought to this.

That is incorrect, in fact. A company cannot set your expectations or standards, only you can do that based off of your own preconceptions. Basely, it would be the fault of the one who had high expectations rather than the one who had delivered the content.
Also, Kai'Sa is the groups choreographer so I think it's obvious that her concept video will be about dancing. Each of the members of K/DA have their own style and the concept videos have the objective of showing that, so it's not about expecations but about people liking Eves' style more than Kai'Sas', so do I see it.

Really like how everyone is disappointed at Riot for not giving us a Kaisa dance video but at the same time they are acknowledging how flawless the dancer is and there is no hate towards her.
I would have loved to see Kaisa and Bailey dancing together, Bailey deserves to be highlighted cuz she's super talented, but many of us wanted some Kaisa too, she's objectively the most overlooked member of KDA and she's barely in her own video, its just kinda a bummer.

@@MadisonMae yah, Kai'sa's been getting shafted from the beginning tbh. Whereas you have Evelynn, Akali, and Ahri, who all have well crafted refined designs which fit their characters for their own reasons, Kai'sa's feels half-assed and rather uninspired especially context of her lore in which it becomes kind of detrimental to her character especially compared the other girls who's designs all compliment them, this becomes even more frustrating considering the alternatives in the concept art. Her current design has some good parts about it, however all of these things could have been expressed in the other more interesting designs while in my opinion taking the current things expressed in her design above and beyond where she is. As Kai'sa is now, her lore is rather bland not going anywhere as her personality is basically non-existent as of yet, which I also feel is connected to the fact that rather than going for a lore centric design they instead went for the profitable decision of making her a super-model. While I do appreciate beautiful characters, and I understand going for profitable designs, I don't think Kai'sa couldn't have been either of those things with a more inspired design. And now, even though they've doubled down her design with kda (which I very much like) she got the short end of the stick again as the others who were able to take inspiration from the their runeterran designs and lore, kai'sa ends up with none of that. Akali gets her punk rapper thing, Evelynn gets her rich dom thing, and Ahra gets her idol thing, and Kai'sa is kind of just... there. They give her her shoulder cannons but that goes back the original design being lacking, Akali gets her ninja thing along with her dress and part in the mv, Evelynn does too, and Ahri gets her whole kitsune thing along with the leading role. Kai'sa once again was just kind of there, she doesn't even get her own part in the song instead just filling the spots in between. It's really frustrating, I love kai'sa but she deserves so much better.

Which brings me to two: they probably mean concept video not as in to showcase or preview a prototype but a "music concept video" which usually revolves around a single theme, in this case dancing. Chances are pretty high that this is the final product

In the industry I work on, not all concept stage projects have same level of polish. Some are just artwork, some just have a video, some have playable 15 min gameplay content as proof of concept. It really depends on the concept itself. Its whatever the management decide is enough.

Let's talk about the good first... There is no doubt that Bailey Sok is an incredibly talented, up-and-coming dancer. What a privilege to collab with Riot, you can tell she had so much energy and so much FUN doing this, hats off! With that being said...
This song is really good, and it's very energetic, perfect to lay the groundwork for Kai'sa, and we got nothing. The way they went over the texture and the tone of "Villain"; they could have gone over motion capture and insert Kai'sa here and there. And no, not just putting pictures of her trying to jumpscare you, it was almost tacky. What a missed opportunity, there's a lot left to be desired.

The problem is they set the audiences expectations too high with Villain. If anything, they should have treated each "concept video" with the same quality if they're gonna do it like this. Idk, make Kaisa dance alongside Bailey, or have a Kaisa scene where she dances for a good 30 seconds. In fact, they could have renamed this as a "Dance Video" instead of a vague title such as "concept video". You can see why a lot of people are disappointed after seeing Evelynn's concept video.
Bailey Sok still killed it here though, she's an awesome dancer and we should still appreciate the effort they did. Sadly for the team whoever came up with this idea...ehhhh they could have put much more thought to this.

Could’ve done mo-cap, they already have the choreography and a dancer. It’s more difficult and costly, but Riot has all the money in the world so I don’t see a good reason for not doing it.
That is incorrect, in fact. A company cannot set your expectations or standards, only you can do that based off of your own preconceptions. Basely, it would be the fault of the one who had high expectations rather than the one who had delivered the content.
Also, Kai'Sa is the groups choreographer so I think it's obvious that her concept video will be about dancing.
Each of the members of K/DA have their own style and the concept videos have the objective of showing that, so it's not about expecations but about people liking Eves' style more than Kai'Sas', so do I see it.
