- Check out this jet powered semi! WICKED. This jet powered semi truck was at National Trail Raceway for the annual Night of Thunder event. Night of thunder is one of the biggest events of the year for National Trail Raceway. 2014 will go down in the books as a successful event. The stands were packed. There was a ton of cars, and a ton of drag racing action.
Bob Motz's jet semi is billed as the quickest and fasted jet semi ever built. According to their website it is the original jet semi, and the king of quake. They also state that "The first jet truck to run over 150 mph in a quarter mile (1980). The first jet truck to run a seven second e.t. in the quarter mile.The first jet truck to run over 200 mph in a quarter mile. IHRA and NHRA record holder for speed and e.t. Maryland land speed record holder. Winner of the only side-by-side jet truck race (2002)." The engine is a J79 General Electric from a B-58 Bomber or F4 Phantom Fighter that generates 17,500lbs of thrust. It cost about 1/4 million to build. The fastest speed ever reached in the 1/4 was 234mph with a 6.34 quarter mile.

I saw that truck in 2018 back in Orlando, I could feel the shockwave pressing my chest, after the race, the concrete wall behind the truck was hot

I'd rather have a Single J-79, Over Shockwaves J-34,s. Lot more Thrust !
That J79 makes so much thrust I'm surprised those windows didn't blow out.

Shockwave is the worlds fastest jet powered semi always will be! As a child I was always at the track and shockwave was there for every event plus he's in Guinness World Records holding fastest jet powered semi. Why label your video worlds fastest when not true??? He goes to national trail raceway sometimes not always!
Bob Motz 1/4 record is 6.34. Shockwaves fastest 1/4 mile is 6.63.

no i was a the very end of the bleachers by the tower
civic life I was there too in the top of the bleachers on the right side I left my camera at home though.
