I aim to prune my climbers late winter/ early spring- just as I start to see the leaf nodes swell and this is in zone 7b- Maryland. I start late winter and pace myself up until early spring. For shrub and carpet roses I hard prune in late fall.
Came back to watch this a year later! Epic, Stunning beyond words... better than any movie I've seen in years.....do hope you are out in the world doing more of this! Do hope we get more of Jargon.
Hi, I see some crossing/overlapping of main canes, is this ok to do. I thought canes were not supposed to cross. Not a criticism by the way, just want to be sure before I do. Thank you....Tina (Ireland)
Good afternoon Hoang, in the UK we recommend pruning your rose in January/February when the rose is dormant. Many of our roses naturally drop their leaves in the winter when they go into dormancy.
I have a climber that put out long shoots with flowers at the end only . I don’t have horizontal space to pull the shoots , only vertical on a tall trellis so what can I do to produce more flowers all over ? Thanks
Finally found some helpful advice for my climbing roses - Thanks

Dont touch it for a couple years
Brilliant !
When should we prune? I see you remove the foliage so I assume you do this in the winter?

The climber needs to bend as horizontal as possible to produce LATERAL branches. The flowers are formed on these laterals.
Do I get an answer if I have questions .
What is the name of this climber?
New Dawn
Maybe
can I prune my rose in June or is it too late
Too late I’d say. Just wait and prune in Jan/feb
You don’t say WHEN to do this
In winter Jan or Feb
Why is this such bad quality? It’s so blurry,
