I really like this Rudy Super League idea as it solves the issue the SEC/B1G have in their leagues now with their own bottom feeders and all P4 teams can make what they bring to the table with the opportunity to rise or fall in tiered revenue, not just due to conference alliance. What would make it even better would be to give the G5(6) an “in” by allowing 10 of their teams to promote up to form a division/league in the Rudy Super League and then each year they’d have promotion/relegation which would give access to the G5 and keep interest from all their fans. I’d also have all FBS teams play FCS games for their spring game and 1-2 preseason fall games, like the NFL preseason games, that wouldn’t count on the seasonal records. I’m all for it!

You nail it at "knowing your level" there are too many schools that have this innate need to feel they are on the same level as Alabama despite the facts and history showing us the complete inverse of that. I don't know why this thing hasn't been setup like the UIL TX HS Football:
    - P4 = 6A
    - G5 = 5A
    - FCS = 4A
    - D2 = 3A
    - D3 = 2A
    - NAIA = 1A
I pay attention to Aledo and Denton Ryan just as much as Duncanville and Desoto. Carthage vs Gilmer is awesome.

That kills the lower levels worse than the opportunity for promotion does.
Mind you, “knowing your level” is not a bad argument. There is an example or two where a club in Europe overbuilds a stadium and ends up bankrupt. Meanwhile, Bournemouth has only yo-yo’d once since they made the premier league a decade ago, and they refuse to expand their stadium beyond the current 11,200 capacity (it was actually downsized a smidge). England does have some things from which we can learn.
But… fixing the levels means it’s less likely to be televised. Meanwhile, England has a promotion playoff and that’s often must-see TV. Imagine promotion games in lieu of bowl games here. I’m damn sure it’s better ratings than an FCS championship.

Stop trying to relegate teams down. Baylor is closer to San Diego State then Texas.

Relegation is an absolute non-starter for any school in the SEC or Big Ten. As an SEC fan, why would we ever agree to that kind of system? This "Project Rudy" sounds like something that benefits the schools in the Big 12 and ACC far more than it does the schools in the SEC and Big Ten.

Adding new divisions creates new championships. I'm all for that. I love that there can be champs in division 3 and division 2 and the FCS. Make another division to give more teams a chance to be champions

Trying to reinvent the wheel always returns back to the basic concept of the wheel. Its round. What else is there. And what’s with the soccer analogy? Apples and oranges to me.

Relegation is never thrown in there or discussed by rational people. Pro soccer in Europe is not in any way like college football. It is a shame that you started the video with that.

    • @PCSPounder
      @PCSPounder 2 дні тому

      Never discussed by rational people?
I got news for you: when that proposal got leaked to the public, in a country where you might think no rational person might discuss it, that perked the ears of the only two entities paying for most of college football. That would solve their biggest problems… they are paying to hype Texas v Alabama and USC v Michigan, and not to watch Ohio State roll up 50 on Purdue with nary a response. That loses viewers. Nor are they really that jazzed with the Iowa State market among many others.
Those networks are losing too much money right now to care about mid-level college football. So don’t blink… the irrational might be in your face sooner than you dare think.

Ask how many teams in power leagues want to move down to win more.....that's what I thought. Fan of a G5 and have zero interest in some dumbed down secondary league championship. The whole idea is just dumb as f.

U guys are way off.. sounds like whining. Here are the facts:
    1. No fan in the P2 is complaining bout the way football is setup.
    2. college football has never been more popular
    3. P2 accounts for 70% of tv viewership

Its ok to acknowledge the truth. B12 and ACC folks are the only fans thare are pissed. The P2/B2 and GF are perfectly happy with the current administration of the game.

Not completely true. Many SEC and B1G fans do not like the current sizes and to where they will likely still grow to consolidate deep and wide enough.

I believe the ACC would rather play a random B10 Team than a random Big12 team
I believe the Big12 would rather play a random SEC team than a random ACC team...
So YES the B10-SEC makes sense to any B10-SEC school for better matchups.
I agree, that results in less matchups for the Big12 and ACC which sucks for them.

The one thing you guys are forgetting about is Gen Z and Gen Alpha don’t care about teams we care more about individual players, so the more teams you have in this supposedly super league, the less revenue the leaves going to make it all about it, inclusivity and putting all the best players on a small Group of teams
