the whole point of the album is slim shady coming into 2024 straight from 2002, thats why his insults and "controversial" lyrics are outdated. you should try to listen to it again as you clearly didnt understand the point of the album
@@Letmetellyousomething1 Because it's not Slim Shady "being offensive" that sucks about the album. That's not why the lyrics are outdated. The lyrics are outdated because he's bringing up topics from like 6 to 10 years ago that anyone cared about. PC police? Trans Women being talked about like it's this huge taboo to even bring up? Fumbling about the word 'gay' saying 'not the good gay, but the kinda gay that means it sucks' or whatever stupid shit he was saying. It's just so like... worried. Like he's worried the whole album, even though he's bringing up the safest shit to talk about and dressing it up as this edgy thing that's going to get him cancelled. That is why it's gay.
The point is to spit fake controversial lyrics, so that Slim Shady comes off as corny and cringe. He's trying to show how that character doesn't work anymore in 2024, thus "killing" him metaphorically. Also, him making fun of Christopher Reeves is part of the concept: Slim uses outdated references and doesn't know all the recent stuff that happened. He clearly says these things in the Complex interview.
I think you begin getting the point of the Complex Short and of the album. Slim is cringey and dated and needs to die - which is what Marshall keeps telling him throughout the album. I liked the album though so that might be a strike against my opinion but yeah, Em is still THE GOAT.
Yeah, I get it from that point of view if that's his point, but it falls flat because Slim was really never behind the times during the times he was making music. He's saying Slim is too offensive basically for today's world. That's also a gay point and basis for an album. This album is like if Slim was like "remember the fall of the berlin wall?" on his first album, because it was like 7 years prior to anything that mattered during the time the album was made. That's why him mentioning PC police all the time and talking about how he's gonna get in trouble for talking about trans women is so lame and outdated. It's not outdated in the sense he's being offensive with language. It's literally outdated based on the subjects he's talking about.
