Thanks for this unboxing. I remember when this and the Porsche 935/76 came out in 1/20. I spent a while back then modifying the Tamiya 935/76 into a 935/77 using a whole lot of putty and plastic card. I wish Tamiya had done a 1/20 Porsche 935/78, "Moby Dick". The 1/24 version lacks the engine and a whole lot of the detail the 1/20 Tamiya Group 5 cars seemed to have. Those Group 5 cars were monstors and had -- as you note -- some incredibly clever and crafty interpretations of the rules to get the most out of the cars. If I recall correctly, with Moby Dick, Porsche used the sections of the rules aimed at helping even things out for the front-engined BMW and Ford based cars, to modify the floor of the 935/78 to lower the car. If I recall, the transmission of Moby Dick was mounted upside down relative to the cobfigutmration of the priduction car so the car could be lower. The second rear window on the Porsche 935s was another inventive reading of the rules. I really miss Group 5.

How the hell they manage to keep those molds flashless for 48 years ...They just 5 years younger than me
That's a nice kit..I built that a few months ago
I quite fancy the Italeri Lancia Fulvia RC - if they get round to releasing it this time! Does anyone do the 6R4 or RS200?
Strange looking car, one that I won't be building lol but I'm sure some will like it but not for me
Hi Nigel, a fair lot of adds in this one? I imagine you can't have the tobacco sponsors any more either?
No, but aftermarket has that covered for most models.
