It's one year since I started this journey of building my off grid log cabin, which was a dream of mine since I was a kid and last October 2018 I decided and took the courage to start with this huge build by myself. Since then I came a long way, working in every weather imaginable, seeing many amazing sunsets and overcoming every obstacle in order to have the log cabin as it is now. I documented most of my work and put all of the best moments into this 2 hour documentary. I think I have another year to completely finish the house, but I'm more than happy whit what I've done so far. Hope you enjoy the video and thank you very much for watching and thanks to everyone that has been watching and supporting my channel.

Nice to meet you. I am Japanese. My name is Jota Inui. I was a teacher for 27 years, but I had a stroke and had to quit my beloved job. And now, I am creating woodwork art works using world heritage Yakusugi and sacred trees. I have a variety of disabilities due to cerebral infarction. The right face has pain from being cut with multiple kitchen knives. And the left lower leg was left with a disability that was burned by the gas burner. Except when I'm sleeping, I'm living in a living hell of intense pain. In that living hell of pain, I am creating fishing charms and woodwork art works using the world heritage Yakusugi and sacred trees.
I watched your UA-cam and was deeply moved. Because you are challenging yourself with a very difficult task by yourself. And you are always working hard to make your dreams come true. Your home build is amazing.
When I look at your house building, I feel that you are creating a work of art called a house.
When I saw you working hard, my heart warmed and I thought that I had to work harder. Even though I am disabled, I have much to learn from your way of life. You are such a wonderful human being. I respect you with all my heart.
And you give me the strength to survive. Sincerely thank. thank you very much. I look forward to your success. you are a really great human being.

It’s not you, buddy. You have that ‘can -do attitude in equal measure. It’s location, location, location. Urbanism is killing us. We’ve gotta to back to where nature is and negotiate some harmony with it.

@Dr. Alias Tis a joke my good sir. The purpose of the comment is to be humorous to those who might have experience with the subject of the joke, by comparing the real life building of a house with the virtual building of a house. You also have no information on whether or not these individuals have crafted anything by hand. I, for one, play many video games and also build things by hand. May it in fact be you with the small penis, and you are compensating by being hostile and dismissive towards generations younger than you? Perhaps. In fact it is likely the case. You, good sir, are the kind of person that gives older generations a bad name on the Internet.

"Disturbed nature." Funny. Pulling your own house out of a nearby forest. That is about as much being One With Nature as you can get!
Your argument might sound good on paper but when you think about it, those houses and appartments are built one way or the other. Doesn't matter whether I live or not (doesn't go for self-built property of course).
He is also doing the filming. This dude is a rock.
He has a friend who helps him move the camera
I'm curious how long this took to edit

Eintein once said that if given 1 hour to solve a problem he would spend 55 minutes thinking about the solution and 5 minutes executing it. Clearly sir, you have done your homework. I would work for free just to be able to learn from you. I love working with wood... it's very forgiving, love the smell of freshly cut wood, love the feel under my fingers when you're aligning two pieces together and you make it equal... and million other small things. Fast forward 20 years and I'm working as a framer and I've been doing so for the past 7-8 years. This video right here is my unspoken dream come true for me. I really envy you (in a positive way lol)
In the beginning of the video I've noticed that your tractor had a license plate that looked like Slovenian (Europe). If my assumptions are correct, the only thing I can add is "Bravo majstore, svaka ti čast!"

Stunning documentary, the care he took to not only do this painstaking work, but also to stop what he was doing to carefully place the camera into position, walk back what he was doing, always thinking of the viewer-unbelievable. This man has to be one of the most self-disciplined individuals I have ever encountered. Most of us would have tried and given up after a few hours. Let there be no mistake-what he is doing is dangerous and he risks lots of injuries-but my impression is that he is a careful, cautious individual so is avoiding careless errors. Working late at night also increases the probability of injury due to fatigue. The silence is powerful-sure it would be interesting for those interested in actually building a log cabin to have some instructional dialogue, but for most of us this is not necessary. Those interested certainly are free to reach out to this videographer.
Again, I'm stunned at what he is doing and has done. I'm so happy to see that he has millions of views! Congratulations, Mr. Rijavec!

Cool
The cinematography and editing is so good too. This is a piece of art.
11:07 damn that axe trow
I guess you didn't notice the cut? Wasn't done in one take.
Mad skills on so many levels... heh

You are definitely not lazy, but you are a credit to all the young men who do nothing but live in their parents basement playing video games. I for one have nothing but respect for your intestinal fortitude
The 6k people who disliked had their phone upside down
The 6000 was tree lovers and liberals lol. But i loved this video bad ass make one
Stop deforestation
or from australia
@@kurta6641 ouch
@@anthonynasso3102 > liberals
UA-cam tends to not recommend similar videos if you dislike it. Maybe, just maybe a person who disliked isn't keen on building content.
But of course you need to boil everything down to politic views.
“Drake.... Where’s the door hole?”
Ross dudich you cut it after
Oh... I see the problem
In a wooden house like this you have to cut it open afterwards. Of all the things to say that was ur best, geez man
@@filipepsico293 It's from Drake & Josh.
@@bob_ee8295 lost u there in that ref, my bad
building a cabin is one of the manliest things a man could do
Yes true

Greg Grimer yeah
@Aden Cuevas actually thats what you kids think is so cool
@Ed Gah thank you, I was looking if anyone said this otherwise I would have😂
This hands down was the most interesting Log Cabin Build I have ever seen. From the precise tree dropping, to the devises and chain falls set up to raise and lower logs, was Roman time. You conquered every aspect of This build. The log scribing then saw cutting down to sanding to the exact line was always on point. You deserve that Beautiful Cabin in the Mountains. A priceless Sunset. What an amazing Man you are. Great Work. On to the next videos.
I don't know, I liked Erik Grankvist's better. No power tools or over engineering. And he truly did his by himself. This guy did a good job as well, there were a lot of oh shit moments for me watching it though with safety.
Me: tired of peeling potatoes
Him: skins a tree alive
*Skins 50 trees alive
Bella’s Life but is it alive once u chop it down, if no ones around to hear the trees screams do they make a sound? The point being there isnt any im just commenting for the hell of it
I'm a 58 year-old woman, I could not take my eyes off of your amazing work. I would love to have a log cabin in that beautiful , beautiful area. And when you're finished you will have satisfaction of knowing you did this! I will continue watching! You are very talented in finding a way to make things work! Sincerely Carolyn Vice
11:08 why is no one talking about how sick that was
Also the fact that you have enough pure passion and drive to do this is incredible and i hope you never loose that fire you have, its really a gift.
Scrolled through a lot of comments to see if anyone else wanted to say something about that.
"I cant do that", "that's too hard", "Im cold" , "Im too tired" : What he never said
Probably a lot of what he said off-camera, but he never spoke about it to us because that wouldn't make good content.
Truth is, this shit is hard... if it wasn't, then it wouldn't be worth doing... and you're completely justified in saying its hard, or you can't do it, or feeling demoralised in the process.
True strength is in being able to push on through that and continuing regardless.
"Courage isn't the absence of fear, its acting in spite of it"
Likewise, steadfast resolution isn't the absence of difficulty, but rather to act in spite of it.
Big yikes

I love the sound when he peels trees and when they fall over.
When I first starting watching this, I had absolutely no idea what I was going to see. I was like hmmm... there is no talking to the camera explaining how he’s doing things, there’s no ads...just a man doing all the things it takes to build his dream home and it was absolutely one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever watched. I mean this is longer than most movies and I never got bored. What a great film. Thank you for taking the time to make this and sharing it with all of us!
Simply amazing. I don't know where to begin to describe what I felt watching this: having a vision, nothing is impossible, hard work pays off, you can do so much even with a limited set of tools, time is so precious to waste on meaningless things, and on and on and on.
I just watch a dude build a house himself without one single bad word 😃💪

Fuck I wouldn't make it a minute. lol.
Because he’s happy and not miserable
JaQuBOTG Pl Lol good find
He said “fuck” at one part. You must of not watched the whole thing ;)
This man is at peace with himself and is not worried about missing a damn thing around the world
Probably for the best right now...
amen brother
@Greg Ballard You got that right!
Well nothing except making sure he wont make a mistake that'll cost him a year of hard work.
This man is on a mission and he WILL not quit until his dream home is completed.
