Nice. I just picked one of these up yesterday. Haven't had a chance to go through it thoroughly yet but I can tell it has compression and no spark. It says Solid State ignition on the face of the cowling, does that mean it has electronic ignition and no points and condenser?
I have one that looks almost identical but says Hiawatha on the side. Got it running and is running great but very little water is coming out of the exhaust holes. Any tips?
Then I wonder how the Commando 500, a failry rare motor built in California in the 60s. It was a Clinton legged motor with a 2 stroke industrial single cylinder sitting on top just like the Eska's and Ted Williams motors. With one exception, No water pump. It came in a 5 hp, and a 7 1/2 hp. Both looked just like the Eska barring the water pump of coarse.
since the motor is air cooled any good 2 cycle oil will work 24-1 or 5 oz of 2 cycle oil to one gal gas they noisey but beats rowing I worked on lots of these years ago the engine is a Tecumseh good tuff motor good luck
My Dad worked in a boat rental in Ohio in the 50s. They use to use 30 w Wolf's Head motor oil. Never burned up a motor. Use Straight weight motor oil in your gas mix my Man. Just no multi viscosity

I have a 7.5hp just got it running. Thing works and sounds great. Can you do a video on the leg. I'm curious how it stays locked up
What's the name of the fuel fitting for external tank. I've had trouble locating one

I have the same one, the water cooled exhaust isn’t working on mine. Any ideas?
Where did you find an impeller for this motor?
Discount Marine Parts has Eska impellors.

Just got a 5 hp like this. Do you mix 24:1 marine oil or just regular 2stroke oil?

Not Bad !!!
post more videos of this motor
+Marcuz Zarate This motor is long gone.
I always wondered if these things would be just fine with only the air cooling . ?
No they will not! The lower main bearing and exhaust is water cooled
@@Mnoutboards I just acquired one of these things I was wondering if you had a impeller somewhere on it?
They were great motors if kept out of salt water
I was afraid this thing would plane the boat, no worries though...
I'm mixing 50 to 1 on mine
