The Man in the Peace Tower

This short film from 1951 introduces us to Robert Donnell, the man who served as Dominion Carilloneur at that time. The Dominion Carilloneur works inside the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill in Ottawa and is responsible for playing the carillon on weekdays and at the request of Parliament.

I bought a record of this guy playing the peace bell tower... It's really cool to now see how and where exactly... I'm gonna have to go back and listen. I do remember it being signed by the guy who was listed as the one playing the bells.

Well the reason that happens is that sound is very common to use in bell towers/clock towers. People think that they stole it from Big Ben. But it’s just a common song used by many

And also bells that play Westminster chime are almost of the same tone as quarter bells found in Elizabeth Tower in London. Only difference is that the bells in Elizabeth Tower are slightly higher pictch than bells that play chime in Peace Tower.
