not sure if it was just my figure but the legs are extremely loose compared to an official Goku and the one boot was falling off as soon as I took it out of the packaging.
While that does sound like a rather differing experience, it can't be discounted as DF definitely has had varying quality control issues before, which is why I opted to order a secondary copy for additional testing. When you say the legs are loose, are you referring to the hips, knees, or feet to be specific or multiple joints?
@@ManyNinjas the hip area. the joints there allow the legs to move too effortlessly and when he stands his legs "widen" a bit to help support since they're not nearly as strong as the official. with the official they are super tight/strong. The left leg(the one that has the boot that doesn't stay in) is much worse than the right although the right is noticably cheaper feeling as well. I emailed DF and they told me they'd ship me a new left leg but it doesn't appear to have dispatched yet.
@@haydenh7380 Based on the description, that does sound like a rather unique problem. Good they are shipping a replacement component, but perhaps a full figure replacement might have been warranted as it doesn't seem isolated to one part. Please do keep me abreast if/when the replacement part comes in.
Alright I would get that figure BUT.I would wish they brought base gokus face but then again it would be to many items to fit inside the box unless they out that item on the back of the plastic
While I would not mind at all if they built something akin to the older Super Battle Collection Vol. 00 Son Goku with swappable heads for various transformations, I can get that some of those heads like the base head for instance do not have the same return on investment to make molds for as they can sell headsculpt sets based off the Ultra Instinct look more easily so there are more opportunities to use those molds multiple times unlike the base head which really has maybe one specific use short of making a bunch of new faces to make it more interesting for customers.
It does fit that role well enough really, as Goku tends to have a bad habit of only really getting serious after his clothes require a good mending after the fight. Doubt DF had that much forethought though, and the use of the SSB head just made this as a Ultra Instinct clone that much more appealing.
I will say it does make a few improvements from more recent efforts in terms of joint fitting from the sample here, but they are also heavily using materials directly based off official figures here, so it remains to be seen if the lessons learned actually stick. This one should be a safe enough purchase.
Are you referring to the original Super Saiyan God figure with the red hair? I'm not really sure you can even find a fair price for the real deal these days, and the bootleg is known for having some plastic quality issues that make it fragile if not handled correctly. This DF clone might have some issues here and there, but still feel it is a more stable figure at least than the SSG bootlegs.
The easiest way to pull out the knee joints for these 2.0 style figures is to warm up the figure's legs in some hot water for a short period to make the plastic slightly more flexible without warping it, then just pulling the parts out of the sockets. Just try to make sure you pull things straight out and not at an angle.
I originally got my copy off an eBay seller from what I recall; 5ktoys did just advertise getting some more back in stock just today, so perhaps worth giving a look?
I'm honestly a bit surprised at this point that they already haven't gone ahead and made at least head sets of the SSJ2 characters up to this point, although the recent renderings of the 'MajinBuster' might suggest they may change that in the reasonable future.
Are you talking a legit Awakening Goku? While the hair sculpt and some other details are a bit dated due to it being more based on that particular era of the comic, it honestly is still a very fine figure and I doubt it's going to get easier to get that figure as time goes on, plus all the bootlegs of it are uniformly rubbish. While my initial review figure here for the DF T. Martialist holds up pretty well, that's not to say that I have not heard a number of quality control horror stories for it since this review has been made, which I will have to go into further once I get a second test model to check some extra things. Might also still be a bit easier to get it later on for not quite as inflated a price later on should you decide to come back to it and can't get a hold of the real deal.
@@ManyNinjas awakening goku is cheap in are country and I see I bandai logo and toy animation logo it is not a bootleg if you want one you can order I will give you I link
@@ManyNinjas ok I need your help on this one bootleg I pretty sure you have the same problem with the super saiyan 3 goku legs it just keep upping off what can I do??????
@@demonhunter6476 Okay, let me try to determine the issue here; you are telling me one of the legs keep falling off: is it falling off at the hip joint by any chance? Particularly, when you try and rotate it?
My figure came with blue butterfly joints instead of skin colored, strange. Also heres hoping that the new Full Power SSJ Goku has a skin tone closer to the tenacious martialist so that I can pop the UI head onto that body to have a Granolah arc Goku.
I actually recall mentioning it in a video made later, but it turns out they actually corrected the skin color butterfly joints in a secondary run of this figure to match the blue color that was present in the original. I do not recall if any other notable changes were done aside from that.
Aside from a handful of dictionary definitions which do lean towards my description, it is very hard to argue that this is anything but a direct knock off or copy of several pieces of official Bandai goods. While I do not currently have the EE version in hand for direct first person comparison, the various other reviews so far, plus photos of both the official figure and earlier 3d renderings during the development process of the DF version as compared to more recent images prior to release make it clear that in the very recent past that it ceased to be a unique product and became a combination of clone parts. Not bad by any means, but certainly not original work here.

now I wanna lowkey remove the blue paint in his SSBlue hair and make it translucent to have a unique hairsculpt
Not the biggest fan of translucent hair pieces myself, but if you have the right lighting setup to make it pop, why not.
Maybe I’m just weird, but it actually looks way better when you take the ripped sleeves off. I might just do that instead of painting the joints blue
Not a bad look, that I can agree with.
