Please only send campaigns on the verge of defeat or battles you can't win. Auto resolve wins won't be accepted. Modded campaigns are not currently accepted. I can imagine the absolute UPROAR that would occur if Legend said "Okay, to beat this battle, we're gonna use a simple trick. Let's drop Battle Difficulty down to easy and boom, there you go, autoresolve Heroic Victory." and then ended the video.

It’s nice that Archeon is a huge menace in battle. Game 1 and 2 he was a bit of a joke now he is a demigod
game 2 he was pretty insane too, his only mistake was coming in after you maxed out your lord. he's actually weaker in game 3 (less ward save)
@@jessblues848Yeah he is a great choice as a 1 man army build with the sword of khaine in the 2nd game. I think the problem is that he's not that great at dueling (unless a player controls and min/maxes him) and his faction sucked
@@jessblues848 barrier is more ridiculous than ward save because it's like uncapped regen on many chars.
Problem with Archaon & Harald is that they don't need much to get stupidly strong, so going up against Archaon as early as possible is much advised, especially if you're planning to take him out.
Like Grimgor. Such a huge pain in the ass, plus he spawns Waagh armies like a dick. At least Archie tends not to get as big as some factions because it's a bit harder for the AI to collect enough dark fortresses.
Agreed. When I played an Archaon campaign recently I often had my army sit it out and just have Archaon and Harold solo the battle. The army was almost irrelevant.
I got the Chaos Invasion mod, cranked it to 200.... Archaon feels like the True Lord of the End Times now, guy killed a lord and 2 heroes I sicced on him.
The rest of the army is needed to carry all the skulls they took, and to speed up the army loss penalty
I don't have the Champions of Chaos DLC so i couldnt recruit Bilious,i tried with that army so many times but didnt cross my mind to get money from diplomacy to buy more units,thanks for winning the battle,i wasted my night trying to win the battle,also first time playing Deamons of Chaos so im experimeting with units.
If you dont have the DLC and couldnt recruit The Giant, does it mean now you still have him after you got the save back?

I've noticed over my last few campaign archeon and Kolik are superpowers absolutely gutting the mountains of mourn and Cathay on the last few campaigns
I noticed that with Astragoth, if Grimgor loses his main army Kholek steam rolls his territory. Grimgor lost like 80% of his territory while he was down.
@@Rezuviousduring most of my recent campaigns Archaon always ends up declaring war on and wiping out Kholek towards the mid game for me.
Yeah, Kholek is a straight up a moving mountain in a lore. Which serve to chaos, so... It's a menace, real menace.
You can turn off the drag-out formations in the options. it will stop the melee being put in front of range when you select mixed unit type

Bilious is present in every single SMDB involving chaos warriors and Kugath, he is a constant threat.
when i was dealing with this dynamic duo in my norsca campaign, he was always charging in on my front line giving me the opportunity to bog him down and either use just antilarge against him as well as a melee hero. most of the times he would route after killing his army, but a few times him and harry fucked my army up enough that i had to run away from them and take them 1 at a time. bogging archaon down while cycle charging from the back with a hero or the lord. same thing with harry, but with him i was scared to put in the infantry because of his aoe so i was just microing the heroes to distract him while trying to cycle charge his backside.
Let me guess before I watch. Inflicts severe army loses to force Archaon to retreat?

I know you’re not big on mods but a play-through with any of the better AI mods would be cool to see!
Keep saving and loading the one character until he gets to like 50k health (20k might be enough) and then use his OP health to grind him down
as archeon i was always vassalising boris urson's faction and get strelsi chaos warriors plus gunpowder was a quick empire wipe
How did he get to turn 75 with only 5 items? Even Fusing them to get good items you should have more than 5 items by then. Plus there's a good amount of low rarity items that are decent enough on their own that it's worth outfitting your lords and heroes with them over RNGing them to get the staple items(which I don't even see here).
This is intended purely as a genuine question and thought. Like having buffed attack/weapon strength and armor on each lord and hero is better than one of them having 8% ward save as an example of my point.

The Barons probably could have debuffed Archaon during the duel with Billius. They're kinda low impact overall but the debuff is significant.
Why is Harald part of AI faction?
I’m stuck on archaon as a demon prince, he’s tough. Killed my leveled blood reaper and now he’s got me cornered. Would of sent it in but it’s on very/hard. Would legend still do it?

Probably should have nuked Archaon's giant with your caster horror at the start instead of Harold easier unit to wipe and high value for army losses.

I hated fighting archeon, he is STRONG lol. But it makes sense he is Archeon after all
Targeting Harald first might have gotten earlier army losses because he has lower melee defense and he had to be killed anyway. Would have been faster than grinding down Archaeon who didn't have to be killed.
And what would Archaeon do while you’re not focusing him down? You can’t just let him run around freely.
Same thing he was already doing, killing chaff while the giant beat down Harald
Few problems with that one, first is archaon is faster cause of horse. Second he kills faster than Harry. Third is Harry being a small unit which will make him get knocked down by the giant that is focusing him and as you probably know units on the ground dont take dmg except from spells like spirit leech or arcane unforging. Archaon would annihilate the whole army by the time you kill harald with what Legend had at his disposal...
You make some good points. I think it would be an interesting experiment to see which way goes better
They did a good job rebalancing Archaon. Guys a one man doomstack without having to actually do anything

A good lesson in how to defeat ultra powerful single entities. And you broke Archeon's siege.
I think Archeon might be even worse now, because I was doing a Grimgor campaign and not only did Archeon have Harold Hammerstorm, he also had Aekold Hellbrass, *and* an exalted champion of Nurgle that was quite strong. Those 4 entities nearly soloed an entire army of Black Orcs.
That was a hard fought victory there, nothing could stop Archaon for a second in a duel so I don't know if there was anything other to do here :DD
So the army ran away or desintegrated and even enemy ran away from Harald. Thus he decides not to back down but to chase after some terrified and screaming 1st level deamonette to smack her with a hammer. I mean, that's true Champion of Chaos right there.
Turn 73 and like 6 items? No way that’s possible through RNG, submitter had to have salvaged them right?!?
It's kinda ridiculous Archaon isn' unbreakable when I think about it, yeah his stats are insanely high already and maybe it would be too strong, but he's sorta meant to be that way.

I had a literally impossible battle for you but I just deleted my save instead. Vampire Counts vs Wood Elves. They just hammer me with thousands of arrows from flying units and there's nothing I can do. What a garbage faction.

Vargheist can just tear up any flying WE unit except the dragons.
best way to deal with ranged spam armies is to get the fastest hero/lord you have, run them forward and just waste their ammo moving back and forth, if they have magic its a bonus too so you can just blob and bombard them... its cheap as fuck but... its Wood-Elves.
Yeah, usually the only way to deal with them is camping in the forest, while having troops with shields and a necromancer that constantly heals them. Makes most of their ammo go to waste.

turn 75 still struggling in chaos wastes , classic legion of chaos campaign , i feel like it's was my campaign xD. Seriously the start is very hard. Key of campaign : is spamming regiments of renow as soon as possible, Tzeentch aspirant champion is very usefull to deal with archaon on horse , pay malus 2*500 to avoid the war with him ( you can't beat his army and him at the early stage of the campaing) and join the war against his ennemy in echange of money with that you can even deal a non aggression pact THEN join the battle royal against boris and archaon
Hi Legend, can you redo the guide for unit tier list, especially Tomb King? A lot have changed in Warhammer III (eg. I didn't find that scorpian is as powerful as before and you can only get 1 per capital)
So couple of questions. Was there a reason you didn’t use the shadow spell, to keep his barrier down. Also not make use of the two devistating flanker units for him? Wouldn’t that give enough to hit him or nah?
How do you move multiple groups and keep their formation in tact during battle? Anything I try just puts everyone in 1 giant line
5:55 there is a toggle button that lets you put units in line ignoring whether they are melee or missile infantry and any order you selected them in. Hotkey for it is ALT by default. Its really annoying bc it triggers when I alt-tab even tho i dont want it to, and when I need it I cant make it trigger itself by any means.
It would have been funny if he had dropped the difficulty and auto resolved it

Now Im wondering, is autoresolve stronger for AI cause on very hard units have stronger stats or is it just some internal modifier that does it
Auto leans heavily into armored units as I've noticed, the harder difficulty does also give a tip towards them for it most likely because of the stats as you said
@@felwarksmith6239 I see, I was wondering, cause I released mod on that evens out all stat bonuses (removes all extra ones) for all all difficulties but keeps smarter AI that comes with higher difficulties. Though never checked for extra battle resolve bonuses.

AI loves to spam RoR and seems to have a cheat for it. I'm fighting the empire at the moment and every army seems to have the sigmars son..

i... would avoid that particular situation to begin with by making an army better able to deal with strong single entities. shadow and slaanesh magic and other abilities for melee defense debuffs can allow alluresses and other heroes to take down a target like that.
Archeon barrier shield stripped away definitely increase the chances for penetration

I understand why, but it feels good when a legendary hero have a last stand and actually wins :D
