I can’t believe the amount of free education that is accessible vs. the old days of paying gobs of money to travel to or even to pay for at a given salon.
Salon education is dying because of social media. You can go on UA-cam and get all the education you want. Social media has devalued what the industry once was and it’s no longer fun and inspirational. There was a time when a company would announce a training wherever and you got the 411, book the class, booked your flight and hotel, flight out on a Friday or Saturday, landed and taxi cab to your hotel and could tell who was attending the class. You met new people and gained a great friendship of new people for a couple of days and stayed in touch. You returned home and couldn’t wait to share with your salon team and worked that new method or techniques on your guest. Those days are gone and I’m so glad and proud of my industry for having value back then, today, just not valued. The industry will never have that touch again!
