Very inspiring Rob, if i can get a bit leaner i would love to do Mt Hotham, maybe on a cooler day than yourself though, thanks for the videos , much appreciated.
You got a really nice day for that ride its funny how I've ridden that road a fair few times and have only had nice weather a hand full of times i did it this winter before snow in dark super foggy raining could hardly find the road .
I hear you. And I realise how fortunate I’ve been with weather when I’ve visited the high country; three times (in total) always glorious blue skies… and when the weather turns in the mountains, it can happen quickly and dramatically. Luck, perhaps. But also part of the thrill, I suppose. - Rob
great ride Rob, every cyclist should ride it once a year, its keeps you accountable fitness wise and mentally as well. re Water, after the tunnel to the right (first group of buildings) - entrance is on side of building - there are toilets/water, a resting room that always seems to be open. the strava segment for Mt Hotham begins at the bridge btw. Are you churning through the climbing cyclist climb guide in Australia? Is that your sinister plan? Heheheheh.
@@adventurousomaopa I’m using GoPro Hero12 (x2) - have a look at this video, and I share some of my settings etc. - Rob ua-cam.com/video/2S3WW-pLSUY/v-deo.htmlsi=KFA8UrRpSohjiHci
I know now next March to look forward at about 9.5klm that sweeping right hand bend and the glorious flat bit which stretches out in front of you. I aim to finish Peaks next year. This year was a practise run.
Done the ride from Harrietville to Omeo return, about 175km. A dip in the Ovens River at the end is very much enjoyed :-)
That looks like a mad climb. Very inspiring content.
Love the cinelli and the dive in the triple pike position at conclusion.
It really is a gem. First 10km is solid but nice, second 10km is glorious, gentle gradient and wide open views, final 10km is torture but beautiful
Thanks for sharing your Victorian High Country adventures with us Rob. Your videos are very unique and a breath of fresh air. Chapeau, sir!

Great to get a nice response.

Great ride, brilliant series from Victoria. The beauty part of a hard climb is knowing there will be a lot of fun on the way back.
Ah yes. I have much of the descent… should I make a montage?

@@ride-media Yes that is a great idea.
Crazy time to start the Hotham climb in warm weather! But at least it has a fair bit of tree cover.
Love the ending 😂
😅
That last 10km is a killer. I can’t wait to get back there to ride that area again.
Great work!

Great video, very inspiring. Great photography and commentary. Would love to know what cameras you use and do you use a mic?

Great video. I did Bright to Hotham on November 20, the day after you. Did you find water at Hotham? I didn't - not that you need water on way down.
Can get water at the General Store (if it’s open) which is a couple of Kms past the tunnel.
@@mattthomas3674 … was fortunate to find someone with a hose… a quick chat, top-up… and on y va!
