This is nothing new. I paid 30k over the base variant for my Interceptor 650 in the Mark 2 colourway. I know that's a lot of money for a bit of chrome but the folks at RE know that people will pay extra for what they want. I foresee a lot of takers for the Hanle Black Himalayan and people will pay the premium. Personally, I find that colour the best looking because of the golden rims but for this bike I would save my money and buy either Kaza Brown or the Slate.

I understand the annoyance that may arise from the similarity to the colour palette of the Mumbai taxi but ultimately you need to be happy with your choice. The only reason I would pick Kaza Brown or Slate Poppy Blue is cost. I paid a premium for my chrome Interceptor and it's worth the looks. For the Himalayan, I would just save some money for the sump guard and crash bars.
It's a bit more than the competitors considering not all can but at the special pricing period, should have been at least 25 thou lesser. Also when the functional top end varient (rally edition with tubeless) is priced at least 40 to 50 thou more it becomes expensive and definitely not all can buy. In India volumetric sales figures rules the market. There are too many competitors to R.E now (ho nd, yamaha, harley, triumph, yezdi, ....) They have 2 be moros competitive. If the middle-class cannot afford it, this is good only for EXPORT MARKETS. It is sold as cheaper option in export markets. India needs products for the middle-class.

The Hanle Black looks the best but I would pick the Kaza Brown or Slate Poppy Blue since it's an adventure bike so looks are secondary.
