When Olympia thinks she's Lucia di Lammermoor (who survived and became an old maid in a mental asylum). I mean, those directors will do anything to seem innovative. Lovely singer, but the concept is completely against everything Hoffman and Offenbach had in mind. The whole production feels like a nightmare. Including the place where they sing "let's all dance" and nobody's dancing. It's been a long time since I've watched something so depressing.
Pity because the performers were all very good. The tenor seems like a very sweet and intelligent human being and a very sensitive actor. I didn't know him, I'm glad I discovered him!
