My first contact to Pygmalion was by "My Fair Lady". Later I could compare and noticed, that persons appears not being confident, because the songs. Instead simply saying "I'm bachelor and doesn't need a marriage", Henry Higgins needs 3 minutes to justify the benefits of being bachelor. Meanwhile I know a British film and Dutch film, both from the 1930's, a BBC production, the script. I wondered, how they would have expressed Cockney in German, My Fair Lady took the Berlin dialect, but how before?
Pygmalion is a figure in Greek mythology, a sculptor who fell in love with a statue he'd carved. This theme is hinted at in the play as Higgins becomes somewhat affectionate towards Eliza, who he'd "carved" from the common material he believed her to have been. I am doing my IB extended essay on "Pygamlion", and I decided to base it on this production. Is there a way to contact the director of this show? I would really like to interview them as a primary source for my investigation. Thanks in advance
Hi, I'll try to get hold of Florence and see if she's willing, then I'll have to find a way of putting her in contact with you. It might take me a few days! If you like you can email me at (my channel name) @ gmail dot com.
I see that this was written a year ago, I hope your ib programme went smoothly!! I'm doing mine right now and we are studying Pygmalion. Wishing you all the best!

Hi
Pygmalion is one of the worst plays ever written, by the crazed commie lunatic Bernard Shaw
