As much as it makes me feel bad to say it, Tim is a prime example of why the space programs are no longer relevant and it was extremely irritating that he couldn't see how the space program is an extremely valid investment. Buying hope for our entire species, filling us with wonder and excitement, uniting us with one common goal, that is priceless and it really isn't hard to see. We are currently stagnating and our outlook/lifestyle is just plain wrong. On the plus side though, I loved how Tim's villains were instantly two Disney characters! Also, just so you know, the "C word" is also a terrible word in England, but there are still many people that use it.
Dang, I missed Colin on this show. He definitely pushed the entire squad passed their comfort zone just to get everyone thinking, and open people's eyes a bit more. Or see things in a different perspective.
Right? He had me tearing my hair out. Not to mention that virtually all of the technology he loves was driven in part by advancements made during the space race in the 1960s.
Yea.. It's one thing to not understand or care but to scream about it.. Then keep saying "what about my iPhone and Ipad?" Seriously Holy shit.. Like the polar opposite type of people Colin is describing. Love the way they all handled him differently but Daemon was the best.
Tim bums me out to no end... He represents everything I hate about my generation and the generations that follow mine. I hope somehow we can instill that sense of wonder in our children soon so that math, science, and space exploration once again become major focuses. Those NASA missions are responsible for so many technological innovations. It's time to see China as our new Russia, even though right now we are even more behind than we were in the 60's. Otherwise, we'll just be staring at our "cool technology," like the next smartphone or tablet as the world is destroyed around us.
21:58 has to be one of the funniest stories on the GameOverGreggy show, something I and possibly a minority of us can relate to... God bless you Greg Miller!
I live in Virginia and they opened an Alamo Draft-house and I love it. I used to see 2-3 movies a year now i see at least 1 a month. Food is great, service is a great, and online reviews like on IGN help me see only the best movies out.
I think most mainstream theaters will die out within the next decade, but 21 & over theaters will stick around for awhile. I've seen one movie a year in theaters for the past couple years because it's just such a chore, and its expensive, and you have to deal with people bringing their kids to PG-13 and R movies. But now that I'm 21, I've been going to our local 21+ theater every couple months because you get to sit in a nice chair, order food and drinks, and not deal with screaming kids. The only exception to still going to mainstream theaters right now is seeing Star Wars every year.
The fact that China is investing in a space program delights me. I don't care whether it's America or not - as long as it happens and it's shared. The real thing to thrust for is to turn China into a democracy so relations with the US will be good enough to insure the sharing of that knowledge.
Tim was pissing me off at during the "space" topic i mean how can you NOT see how amazing it would be to explore different fucking WORLDS...either way love the show keep it up
Why would you want the US government, who can't even get a website to work properly, to be in charge of billions of dollars for space travel. Profit motive would make it more efficient, therefore private sector companies should handle it. He simply said it wasn't worth taxpayer dollars, and he is right.
Pierre Conrad But 600 billion dollars of a military budget is worth tax payer dollars? That's higher than the top countries combined. Please. 10% of that as Colin suggested would do amazing things. And the US would still have more than twice that of the budget of second place.
milzitothegreat Don't put words in my mouth. The military and many other budgets should be totally slashed. But I'd put that money towards paying off our enormous debts before spending it on space.
Pierre Conrad I guess when an asteroid/comet is on it's way to cause mass extinction and we're completely unequipped to handle it there will be many 'I told you so's' Or when the earth does become inhabitable and we need somewhere to live, we'd have no experience traversing far distances and setting up base elsewhere. Sigh..
Had to watch the full video version so I could get the last part, it keeps freezing. My guess is that youtube felt Timeh's moist ignorance of the universe and wanted to damp the views.
***** , once again very good episode :) I totally agree with colin in the issue with investment of cience, engineering and maths. Overall as a people will thrive and maybe evolve to the next step...
Tim's in the minority on space, but he's right. People are putting their efforts into other things. We've had more technological advancement in the past 30 years, arguably after the interest in space died off, than we have in history. It's not that we should never go to the moon again. Eventually we need to expand, but the technology isn't there yet. It was hemorrhaging money back then for the same reason the WiiU is losing out to everything else. Our technology does not make it affordable and it's too complicated for developers to make it work for what you actually get. Initially, when Columbus and Magellan and all of them were exploring is like when we first went to the space. They were testing it. Then it took generations before the voyages could be perfected to make for safe travel and so we trickled over to the new world. We are currently in an era of perfecting the technology rather than risking it. If we go up to space now, we're not getting any farther, we're not advancing anything because our technology is leagues better, but not good enough to actually get anywhere worth going. Going to Mars is a suicide mission. You get there and you die after you lead your life. There's no coming back because they don't know how to get you back yet. Once space travel becomes that manageable, once we can come and go as we please, it'll be brought up again. But there's no reason to go to the moon and no one wants to die isolated after half a lifetime in a space suit.
You seriously think The Dark Knight Rises is the best Batman movie?! The Dark Knight is way better than all the rest including all the non Nolan Batman movies. The performance that Heath Ledger gave in that movie was the best acting I've ever seen
Tim might be ignorant on a lot of subjects, but you need that personality clash to create an interesting dialogue. Imagine if they all agreed on every topic, the show would be quite boring. You need divisive viewpoints to create a conversation. But as a side note to Tim... I love you dude but get off your phone and read a book once in a while.
Why is everyone shitting on Tim? He has a different viewpoint which I happen to agree with. I mean what did going to the moon (which is debatable in itself) get us. How did it help us advance and progress as a species? Fine it's a great and amazing feat and show of scientific superiority.
1:18:00 God damn I hate you so much sometimes, Tim. Please say this to anyone at NASA or anyone that has worked on the logistics of space travel. I dare you. -__-
It makes me laugh when they say things like, 'In England, they don't like this, this, this' or 'In England, this means this' when it couldn't be further from the truth. Bloody is not a disliked word in the slightest. We use the word a lot, more for emphasis than anything. And the C-word is very much a disliked word here. Probably one of the most expletive words you can use.
I actually keep a listed of words I hate: Moist Morsel Expedite Darling Bling Guac Tidbit Scandal Queasy Sweltering Ointment Nooks and Crannies (newly added)
We don't all have to stop having babies to curb the population growth. Instead we need to reduce the average birth rate per woman to be less than 2.0, this will result in reaching an equilibrium (assuming same average life spans - going slightly below 2.0 children per woman will eventually result in population decline.) Right now China (by force) and Japan (not by force) are at 1.58 and 1.4, and China growth has come to a halt, and Japan is on a decline. The US is down to 1.89. It does take a few generations of the lower birth rate to start getting this down, and in most modern nations this has been dropping, and populations are leveling off. It's India and Africa and less developed nations where the population has been the most. Even in India it was 5.5 birth per woman in the 70's, it's down to 2.60 and dropping. They will level off too. But also the life expectancy of these less developed nations will go up, and population growth will continue until this levels off while maintaining a below 2.0 birth rate. Eventually, we'll level off.
Saying lets take an arbritrary 10% of the Defence budget and give it to scientists completely ignores the global dynamics of international politics and the role the military plays in it. You talk about America wasting money on wars, but war is the projection of power where Americas interests are threatened. America is one of the most powerful nations on earth and remember with great power comes great responsibility.
The thing stalling science is our economic system. It's a lot harder to do what you have a passion for when it hinders your means of making a living. Most people get stuck in their profession and have no means to pursue their true passions later in life. Nick touched on it in the end. Tim is being naive and if thats the attitude of future american generations that is some scary shit.
One of the best episodes so far. Daemon was your best guest. Do not be afraid to bring him back.
Collin thank you for that great topic!

Once you've watched it once in 0.5 speed
You never go back!
lol they sound WASTED!!! thanks for the idea
the outro had me crying!!!
This is the funniest thing ever.
how do you do that?
3:46-3:57 2x speed
I love Daemon's response to Tim. Nailed it.
I'm a big fan of Daemon he should become a permanent member of the show if his schedule somehow allows it.
The range of personalities on this show is just awesome...
Dang, I missed Colin on this show. He definitely pushed the entire squad passed their comfort zone just to get everyone thinking, and open people's eyes a bit more. Or see things in a different perspective.
Why the fuck is Tim getting so pissed off and defensive?! Damn Colin and Daemon have a lot more patience than I do for closed minded people.
Right? He had me tearing my hair out. Not to mention that virtually all of the technology he loves was driven in part by advancements made during the space race in the 1960s.

Great talk! I seriously have the biggest urge to go and play Mass Effect now!
21:58 has to be one of the funniest stories on the GameOverGreggy show, something I and possibly a minority of us can relate to... God bless you Greg Miller!
Great episode. Daemon and Alexis need to be on the show more frequently.
At last I see the Colin photobomb origin aha
Tim made a bit of a fool of himself back in this episode
keep Daemon!! this setting is awesome!!(If you get Altano too I'll die from laughter )
I love Colin's and Greg's twitches when Tim says "so gay"

Yes, Ashburn, Va
Thanks for your sharing of Kathleenms channel it's amazing like your own channel
Love your topics Colin!

As a 24 year old Mechanical Engineer I am floored at the things that come out of Tim's mouth. He is so clueless...
The fact that China is investing in a space program delights me. I don't care whether it's America or not - as long as it happens and it's shared. The real thing to thrust for is to turn China into a democracy so relations with the US will be good enough to insure the sharing of that knowledge.
Bring back Daemon, make him a regular. If 5 is too many, he can replace Tim.
Did Daemon Hatfeld see LIKE FATHER LIKE SON? The Baby topic is EXACTLY that movie.
Colin at 6:21 was hilarious this is why i aspire to be him
Daemon is on a different level vs anyone on this channel.
I lost it at Greg's Dixie cup pee story, caught me way off guard. Funniest thing I've heard on this show.
That Kevin Mccallister on the left is pretty cool.
Colin is hilarious in this episode

In NZ you'd say that guys a GC, if you have had seen him/her act with courage or integrity. "he's a good cnnt"
Reference; any song by the man Tokie Konez like Lost My Mind. Home talent! Even the song HOW ITZ DONE
"I don't like talking about these two specific words"
::starts a conversation using mostly only those two words::
Tim was pissing me off at during the "space" topic i mean how can you NOT see how amazing it would be to explore different fucking WORLDS...either way love the show keep it up

He should be forgiven

Colin looks like Wilson from home improvement with the new pop filters
We dont say that in england
Tim is a Archetypal Millennial
Had to watch the full video version so I could get the last part, it keeps freezing. My guess is that youtube felt Timeh's moist ignorance of the universe and wanted to damp the views.
I like Tim, but I am astounded at how ignorant he is.
Nick should cover Disturbs "Shout"
He should do an entire cover album of Disturbed
Beyond!
Colin would be the Waterman
***** , once again very good episode :)
I totally agree with colin in the issue with investment of cience, engineering and maths. Overall as a people will thrive and maybe evolve to the next step...
Make Daemon a regular!
bring daemon back
They did!
The easiest way to explain the space race would have been... Hey Tim if we hadnt gone to the moon you probably wouldnt have an iphone. Problem solved.
for the first question regarding the Baby
i would go steal my biological baby and keep the one that i had known as my baby and love both
Nice
how do you steal it?
Baby snatching is risky business

So I'm a mutant? Cool.
i have never heard or said that girl is damp for you, mate i don't know where you got that from
Just gotta find the mass effect relays.

Holy shit beardless Tim, Cool.
LOL Colin needs to talk to Freud.

***** Hey is there any way you could put timestamps for the topics in the description?
That's what the broken up videos are for.
haha, Colin at 5:57 and 6:27!
i.minus.com/iy1AJobDHqeap.gif
Last topic was great! Sorry to say Tim is a example of how pathetic we are now a days!
I'm by no means an English major, but does "link's" need the apostrophe?
Yes, because the word is acting as a contraction. Link + is = link's, just as it + is = it's.
I would agree if the word "is" didn't directly follow Link's
Like, as in "link's is in the description"? If that's what it says, somebody needs to get their stupid checked.
dat tim gettys swag tho
No offense to space ships out there... this is a fun show.
1:18:00 God damn I hate you so much sometimes, Tim. Please say this to anyone at NASA or anyone that has worked on the logistics of space travel. I dare you. -__-
I like Tim but he should stay more calm, it gets annoying when he's yelling into the mic.
team Bane Bro!!!!!
Daemon, Have you been watching Switched at Birth?
It makes me laugh when they say things like, 'In England, they don't like this, this, this' or 'In England, this means this' when it couldn't be further from the truth.
Bloody is not a disliked word in the slightest. We use the word a lot, more for emphasis than anything. And the C-word is very much a disliked word here. Probably one of the most expletive words you can use.
Every time they say "women don't do that" I'm like...whelp guess I'm not a woman xD
I wish daemon was a part of kinda funny instead of Tim.
Tim you're a legend lol great show as always, the e3 pre recorded show is going to be fun I'm sure of it.
Bloody isn't that bad here, it's more like ''damn''.
Daemon > Nick
Daemon > Tim*
you guys are jerks i love everyone on this p-cast and it wouldnt be as good with anyone else.
Rude
the new pop filters are too big and block your faces
Greg at 1:09:20.
Tim gets on my nerves... how the fuck can he not see the importance of space travel?!
Tim, you play video games and worked for a video game news company. And you don't want Halo to happen???
I actually keep a listed of words I hate:
Moist
Morsel
Expedite
Darling
Bling
Guac
Tidbit
Scandal
Queasy
Sweltering
Ointment
Nooks and Crannies (newly added)
Oh man, sweltering is such a dapper word.
Than

Tim's ingorance enoys the shit out of me..
And I am almost 10 years younger than him.

In England the girls are moist or wet but not damp
