I had real interest in feedlot business, I am a 52 year Florida resident originally from Manila. I have access to cow-calf, feed is not a problem, I am retired Physician withe extensive knowledge and experience with livestock, I can formulate my own feeds, my biggest stumbling block is where to dispatch the cow manure. I am 80 years old and not as strong as I was five years ago. I noticed how well prepared your formula went. It is excellent. My recipe is similar but I varied slightly in the micronutrients, I rely heavily on Legumes. A hectare of Feed corn and a hectare of peanuts will be a great aid to your supply of feeds. Corn Just before flowering, can be cut, chopped and sealed airtight in plastic drums, for silage. Peanuts, can be cut and left to dry before digging down the nuts.Nuts can be washed, dried and fed directly shells and all. Calcium, in the form of Oyster shells fired until red hot, can be crumbled with your fingers when cooled and added to the recipe. Coconut is good source of fat but be careful of Aflatoxin. Too much coconut will make the beef fat hard (Tulog ang Taba) A handful of sea weed every week will assure you that your stock will not get thyroid problems. Regular sea salt is cheap and very available don't waste your money on salt lick brick or Napier grass. it has no special quality. If you have enough fish bones and spines, you can put it in a pressure cooker and mix the soften fish bones to the recipe, good supply of organic Calcium, Phosphorus and protein. Sir bago lang po sakin yung oyster shells..can i use any kind of shell like tahong shells? And what nutrients can i get from the powderd shell.im 20 yrs old and im interested in your ideas.
