    This was a fun watch. I’ve had Twilight 2000 on my list for a while and (as has happened more than once) Kevin & crew have “convinced” me to buy it.

    I really like that you told the troll to f off. More guys need to do that. Respect. Good on you.
    Really enjoyable show, too. Greatly entertaining. Got myself this latest edition the other day with the urban ops expansion and wanted to watch some actual gameplay to get into it. I have the old editions too but never had a chance to play.
    Hope you guys perhaps do more vids on this.
    Greetings from Corrosive Studios!

      Thanks very much for the kind words, CS. We really had a blast with this version of T2000 and have been trying to find an excuse to get it back to the table. Hope you have a blast getting to know this edition!

    I really enjoyed this session. I could live with a wars across the world - world war 2 charity stream using this gaming system if I can't talk the gang into Spies and Kult. This was very cool, I hope we see more of this. Great gaming gentlemen.

      Thanks very much, THX! It has taken me a while to get around to giving the Free League games a good look, but they are so much fun.

    Really enjoyed the podcast. Nice to see I'm not the only one checking the manuals for clarification. I see that some podcasts cut that out but, I appreciate the thought process behind the rules. One thing, could you clarify the armor bonus and how it works? For some reason, it's throwing me off.

    • @jona826
      @jona826 4 місяці тому

      Weapons have an armour modifier based on how well they penetrate arrmour. You apply it to the armour rating of the target. So, if it's a +1 (making it harder to penetrate) the armour rating of the target is increased by 1, whereas if it's a -1 (making it easier to penetrate) you subtract 1 from the armour rating of the target. The modified armour rating of the target is then subtracted from the damage caused to the target. If any damage is left, it is applied to the target. However, if the "Base Damage" is equal to or lower than the modified armour rating - 2, the attack is fully deflected regardless of number of successes rolled: example: M1911 pistol (base damage: 2, armour modifier: +1) does an attack and gets 4 successes. 3 of the extra successes are used to increase damage to 5. The attack could still not penetrate a heavy door with armour rating of 3 (modified to 4) because the base damage is not high enough.

    This was outstanding, and if you could do a quick summary of the dice mechanic and how crits and target location works, it would help tremendously

    • @jjungers
      @jjungers Рік тому +3

      The quick & dirty of the dice mechanics:
      Rolls are based on an Attribute (STRength, DEXterity, INTeliigence, EMPathy) & a Skill (there are only 12 of them).
      Both are rated from A to D. A= d12, B= d10, C= d8, D= d6.
      Successes happen when you roll a 6 or better on a die.
      Double success when you roll a 10 or better on a die
      Leaving modifiers out of the mix for simplicity's sake, when you attempt a task, you roll Attribute + Skill.
      You roll 2 dice, then see how many successes each die generates.

      @jjungers Рік тому +3

      Continuing onto Criticals & Hit locations.
      Criticals generally only happen with weapons, each of which has a 'Critical' value listed.
      As an example, the M9 Pistol has a Crit value of 2.
      If you manage to generate a single success, you've managed to hit your target & deal 1 damage.
      If you manage to generate 1 extra success with that pistol, then you deal 2 damage & also deal a crit.
      .
      Hit locations are pretty simple.
      Roll a d6 (1= Legs, 2-4= Torso, 5= Arms, 6= Head)
      Check to see if the target has armor in that location. If so, modify the damage accordingly (by the armor value in that location).
      If you manage to crit, there's a d10 table for each location. The higher the d10 roll, the deadlier the effect.
      We've had PCs end up with a notched ear from a headshot (1 on a head crit) & another had limbs being blown off (10 on a legs crit).

      @jjungers I believe there's technically also "F" meaning no skill in that area, so you'd only get the base attribute die. Rolling a 1 shows an explosion symbol, which is a die that isn't re-rolled when pushing (i.e. a 2 through 5), and can induce stress if it turns up again on a reroll. Similarly, a 1 on ammo dice indicates a problem or failure with the weapon.

    • @jjungers
      @jjungers Рік тому +3

      @@erictiso9315 True enough on the F= no skill. No skill die = just the stat die.
      I was just trying to provide the basics for the OP without drilling too deeply into the side bits.

      Thanks so much for the kind words, Reuster! I see that Jjungers has done a terrific job of summarizing the dice mechanics, but if you have more questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Hey this is corrosive studios again but on my personal account this time, I wanted to ask because I'm having trouble understanding some of the rules of the game... Can anybody explain to me the dice rolls? How they work? That's really the only thing I am having difficulty understanding. I have the game and all the expansions including the ones that just came out and I really want to play it but I just cannot seem to understand how the dice rolls work
