  • Celebrate Pope Saint John Paul II’s feast day (Oct. 22) with his favorite dessert from his hometown of Wadowice, Poland.
    Here's what you'll need:
    • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry dough
    • 4 cups milk, (separated into 1 cup and 3 cups)
    • 10 tablespoons butter
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 4 egg yolks
    • ½ cup flour
    • 3 tablespoons potato starch (or cornstarch)
    • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
    • ½ cup powdered sugar

    • Scotch tape
