In the accessory slot I like to run Erebor’s Pride as it gives 42 commander defense and 12 unit defense. Since my armor, weapon, and helmet already boost troop defense a lot I don’t need much more. It is a great source of commander defense to buff Thrain’s guard damage mitigation while still adding some troop defense. The command stat is equal to the Silver Harp of Rivendell and greater than the Defender of the Mountain.
My initial thoughts were, wouldn't he be great with an anti-taunt unit like Shires that ships damage towards the dwarf units. Then you wouldn't need unit tanking, you could use him as a dwarf boosting/damage hybrid?
@@Rickladdy would be a massive waste of the damage reduction capabilities of his gear and skills. If you’re going to do that, just out shires on a low command commander like Dain, then guardians on Falgin and the rest. It’s not as efficient as taunting to tanky Falgin though 😊
I think you have it wrong as well. I tried all the def unit/command gear and all the commander def gear, as suggested by All Things Middle Earth. The latter gave higher percentage of dmg mitigation. I read over several reports to confirm. I decided to use 2 gear for commander def and 2 for unit def/command. The pure commander def gear still gave better results. I am Mattsumoto with PNDA.

One comment saying that commander defence is useless, and you’re saying commander defence is better 😅 Commander defence definitely gives more mitigation to the other commanders, whereas unit defence will aid Falgin himself more so you would have to use a taunt unit. From my experience, and following discussions with others in the commander build content community - Ombra, Vesi, Gore etc this is where we concluded was the best build. However, thankfully he’s viable and flexible to many different builds, glad he’s working out for you and hope to meet you in game somewhen 🥰
@TheHJWgaming I will test again. I prefer his buff going out to his team as White Counsel does. I use 2 tanks and 2 DD, instead of meta of Sauron and GtW with 2 DD. I use all the gear you suggest, except on Frodo with Great Beast for taunt. Falgin for himself and rest of team with Guardians. Do you have Discord?

Great video like always! I’m not sure though how “worth” commander defense is as that only benefits falgin himself and not his team and not even his own units. From my experience the r5 skill doesn’t really scale that well with commander defense. It goes from 30% base to something about 36% with full purple commander defense gear

I’ve personally have it scale between 70-90 every battle with high defence
