This was a nice tour for those of you who've never been to this mall but it's actually even larger than what you see on this video! There are quite a few stores that were missed but overall it's a nice gentle walk through the mall! Come visit us in Toronto and bring your running shoes because this mall is quite large and takes a long time to walk through from front to back and top to bottom! Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of you!😊
It's a tricky layout to cover everything in one trek without too much backtracking. I did what I could without it being too tedious. Thanks for watching!
I haven't been to Yorkdale through the subway station in a long time. Not since I moved out to Scarborough at least 10 years ago. Yorkdale use to be my hangout mall back when the movie theater was near the subway and the It store smwas where Freedom Mobile is... ...yes I am that old!
My favourite mall. I've been going to Yorkdale for years. When the subway did NOT have a tunnel leading you directly to the mall and you had to walk outside across the parking lot to get to the door. When Holt Renfrew was Dominion Supermarket (now Metro) and when Eaton's was the main department store. Forever ago!
Merry x'mas johnny s. I'm glad to see again the yorkdale mall in ur. vidio. when i was there we bring my son there to buy a toy. We pray always to comeback again in canada. thank you johnny s.
Yorkdale Mall was my second favourite Toronto mall (after the Eaton Center, of course) and would frequent it every few months back in the late 80's when I lived in that great city. I see that the mall has grown a little bit since then. I wonder how many of the stores remain from back then. I only noticed The Bay still being around. I'm amazed at how many high end retailers there are now. Are rents there that high? After moving back to my native Sudbury in 1991 and before moving to Michigan in 2001, I would make a yearly trip back to Toronto and park at that mall to take the subway downtown for a day of shopping at The World's Biggest Bookstore, The Eaton Center, the Young Street head shops, and the Queen Street West comic book shops. After getting back to my starting point I would take a swing through Yorkdale, get a quick supper at the food court, which I remember being by the subway entrance, then head back home before sundown.
Merry Christmas Johnny I been enjoying this cold weather lately here in Lake Charles Louisiana that Arctic air came way down south and gave us all a taste of Winter stay safe and warm out there my friend 😊Peace ✌☮
I first moved back to Toronto in 1984, I lived in North York. Yorkdale was a fantastic place to shop. Haven't been back in 30 years. Now it's all high end and luxury goods. Out of my price range, and not to my taste, anyway! Sounds as if I haven't been missing much!
You saved me $$ ......haha....nice just to look .....My friend (an artist )had a large metal sculpture there years ago ....centrally located ....wonder what happened to it ......THANX Johnny I felt the Xmas vibe ....:-)
Fantastic video. Enjoy your walks all over Toronto. Now that I live in Shanghai, I no longer have the opportunity to wander in the neighbourhoods. Keep posting. It really is amazing how fast how Toronto changes
Disappointing to see no decoration's especially from these high end fashion stores Window design and company's were an honest occupation in the fabulous eighties Tis a shame considering the amount of money it took to renovate what? The fourth time or third for Yorkdale When a young girl holding a partime job could dress well and be so inspired Kudos to the many who honest those job's and dedicated great service I thank you!
Good news.....part of the renovations of Yorkdale subway station (Arthur Erickson 1978) will include the resurrection of the neon sculpture by Michael Hayden (in LED) called "Arc en ciel".
I know the TTC is struggling with funding and staffing shortfalls, but that footage of Yorkdale station looked quite Third World-ish. Constant construction, constantly blocked-off stairwells and entrances ... sigh.
I got shopping anxiety just looking at this Johnny! I haven't been up to Yorkdale since Covid came to town. It looks like they have made a lot of changes to the subway entrance there. Thanks for showing me what I have missed. Did you get to Niagara to see your mom?
2:23 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way that leadeth into life, few there be that find it, that's King James version KJV Bible Matthew 7:14, for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, hey people Jesus Loves you so much.
@10:57 ... it's about shyness ... ! why else would you be asking "us" why they are doing what they are doing ? Surely, in order to get to the bottom of why they are queuing, you should ask one of them in the queue ... The owner of Tesla for example might be giving away free Dollars [$10,000 each] to everyone who queues ... but it is just as likely to be the result of brain damage from covid 19 ... where people feel the urge to queue ... like Salmon swimming up a river !
What a far cry from the glory days of Yorkdale in the 70's and 80's and even the 90's. It was a magical fun place to go as a kid. It catered to all income levels, from the stores to the restaurants. The kiosks, the book and magazine and music stores, the unique eateries, all gone. Now its a total waste of time with a bunch of overpriced high end designers for rich suckers and also for the young crowd who don't really have money to spend, but want to feel like they do, so they go there to be seen and max out their credit just to strut around with a designer shopping bag.
Thanks for showing! Wish it was more decorated. Feel like Santa and the tree were just shoved in the corner 😢
Awesome tour around Yorkdale mall Johnny! Yorkdale mall seemed quite busy on a Thursday evening. Thanks for sharing!
Best wishes for 2023. Happy new year.

I like the beginning 10 seconds of this video. PA announcement: "Arriving at Yorkdale ...". Scripted or edited like a professional movie.

you named off all the spots I visited in the 80s and 90s. I even worked at the A&W in the food court near the subway entrance.
Neat!
Thanks for sharing! I love this mall.
oh the promised mall walk, thank you very much ☺

Yorkdale expensive like crazy 🤯

I use to shop there in the 90's when there was a PJ's Pet Center. It has changed dramatically to say the least.

Lined up for the alo store, I would think, Johnny!!
Excellent tour. Please do an updated video of Eaton center.
This is among the largest in Canada with Carrefour Laval and West Edmonton
Nice video
I was there on Friday Dec 23, it wasn’t busy at all

Huge space bigger mall . The most rich people living in the west side. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Where are all the Christmas decorations. Sad to see. Merry Christmas everyone.
Beautiful.....a proper workout though☺️
Do a new year’s eve walk in Toronto!
21:28 woman that swung bag at Johnny and never said sorry. That's why I don't like going to Yorkdale arrogant vibes from people.
Xmas tree should be in the CENTER of the mall. Not tucked in a corner 🧠
I dare you to go to the Yorkdale Mall on Boxing Day.
so you can pick up a Tesla half price
❤❤❤❤❤hello! Enjoy shopping! 🎉🎉🎉
not many places to sit in mall I was there last time like 11 years ago
I know the TTC is struggling with funding and staffing shortfalls, but that footage of Yorkdale station looked quite Third World-ish. Constant construction, constantly blocked-off stairwells and entrances ... sigh.
Count Down To Christmas T-Minus 26 Weeks To Go
I like to go there by subway
you can tell Johnny strides probably got money but he just low key about it. He seem like he's saves his money.
Don't think Johnny is particularly frugal, ask Amazon, Take-Away Food delivery services, Holiday companies.

I didn't.... will go next month!
Square One is not that fancy its nice mall but it doesnt have that many high brand stores like Yorkdale or even Sherway mall in Etobicoke
Hi Johnny I’m a new comer I need some information about banks what the best bank according to you?
🎄🎄❄️❄️🌟🌟🌟
alo should be a clothing brand like Lululemon? I guess...
👍🤗😁❤️💘😄😀🇨🇦
Hi Johnny , is this today - Christmas Day?
Nope he says Thursday 22nd in his intro at the start of the video
If your urban planning or cycling etiquette is off, Johnny will be there to judge you.
Judge? There's nothing wrong with calling out inconsiderate and dangerous behaviour.

What does this have to do with anything?
Let's play...spot the mask. lol. How many can you count?
