Awesome as always my man!! So good to hear a new tune. That boss of yours must be slacking off to let you have time to get this track done!! A new favourite of mine! - Gazm
wow! one of sweetest arrangements! and great production in all aspect both audio and video..... what kind of camera and mic are you using? ps. brilliant idea having the stop watch timer( note to self:)
For a live performance this sounds so well produced. Planning to go dawless myself for live performance and can't decide between the Eventide Space, H9, OTO BAM and Strymon BlueSky for running my whole mix through, would you recommend the H9 for this?
Probably a bit of a late reply, but still. If you want to use a master reverb, I would go for something sublte, without too much character. Otherwise all your tracks will have the sound of this reverb imprinted in them. Eventide Space and H9 are the same - the H9 has all the algorithms of Space and other Eventide pedals. I have an H9 myself, and it's a great pedal. Versatile, can do both subtle, massive and weird reverbs. But it sounds very sterile, space-like. Sometimes I want something more warm. OTO BAM is amazing, but it can't do some experimental stuff that other pedals do. It sound incredible, though. And personally I don't like the BlueSky, because of it's signature sound. Many people love it, but I just don't. Matter of taste, I guess. So I would go for the H9/Space if you are okay with the eventide's sound and want to have some weird reverbs. Or the BAM if you just want a normal, great master reverb.
millolab Well, that explains a lot... not 😂 Must be something special you can do on the Elektron gear, right? Maybe post a tutorial video on how to do that, so I can perhaps translate to the gear (and DAW) I have? Thanks in advance!
You want to know the Midi routing or the audio routing? My mixer is the one you can see on the rack. It's the rx1602 by Behringer. It's really bad... but it's very handy. :D
the mixer i told you is a 16 analog mixer. It's bad... but it works for me. :D When it comes to recording i do not use a computer. All my mixes are done while recording. :D
Been following you for years now, love all your music, really inspiring, just curious of your process of starting your songs, drums first? Bass line first? Etc, also interested in your drum programming, i just received the digitakt and still learning how to fit it in, how are u liking the octatrack?
Brent, first of all, thanks! :) The first thing i do is start from one synth. It could be the blofeld or the System1m, or even the Octatrack. What i do is create a patch or mangle a sample in order to lay down some chords. Then i add the drums, the bass and so on. When i'm happy with it i try to have at least some variation, in terms of chords and melody. DT and OT are my favorite right now. I love 'em. About drum programming: i try to avoid straight 4/4 beats. Kick go in 1 but not necessarily on 5/9/13... that's something i do not like. maybe the Snare is the only thing i tend to keep straight. HiHat is as random as i can, and glitches use a lot of retrig, conditional trigs and microtimig. It's not hard :D
Bro, this is one of my favorites ever! :D
Congratulations, you are talented !
Another masterpiece.
Very nice.
Seriously clever stuff.
Your drum programming always make me jealous :)
Nice, mellow piece. Something to play when I have a date over for dinner. ;-)

I really love the way you create "musical landscapes"
Lovley Sound.
This is dawless jamming at it's finest! That panning effect around 5:00 is godlike
Kyokukats thanks mate!

This is outstanding! Nice work - can you give an idea of the midi routing you use for your set up - i'm heading DAWless an would appreciate a steer...
boia deh!

Great
Could you do a quick tutorial on how you create the fantastic drum and percussion tracks? It sounds incredibly complex but I’m sure it’s not!! 😀
topsurveyor it is not. It’s a microtiming/retrig/conditional trig thing.

Bastiaan Winde 😄😄 ok ok maybe I will 🤙🏼
Very good...remembers me a little of telefon tel aviv. How did you make that glitchy drums? Cheers
Great tune, but I was expecting that from you. 😉
Bastiaan Winde 😛
Amazing work, I love it! The blofeld sound sample is own mixing or built-in sound?
HappyLord a custom sound by me
If telefon tel aviv could channel Stranger Things retrowave voiced in a blofeld. so purdy
how you route everything? is it rack analog mixer? which brand, thank you

audio)) in the future you will go for analog console or some 16 chanel digital intetrface?

Superb. What BPM is this recorded at?
topsurveyor 75bpm

Fun. But so annoying to hear the buttons.
Gene Pozniak you mean in the first part? 😄 did you listen to the song?
Millolab: My bad. I didn't see that note. Thanks :-)
Gene Pozniak 😊have a listen!
