  • Hans Peter Minderhoud of the Netherlands, rode Dream Boy (by Vivaldi x Ferro) to third. The obedient black KWPN stallion had an unusual bobble in the piaffe, rearing in the first piaffe pirouette after his halt at entry. The judges responded to this by scoring the piaffe 6 to 7.5 on average, which brought Minderhoud's final score to 81.93%, good for a third place.

No!!!! Stop !!!! It’s obviously not a harmony! Rider( not even athlete ) hurts him. Horse’s movements are not smooth, it’s like an arrhythmia

Horrible......every step he's being jabbed by the spurs....you can see the stressed use of the tail ......so not only the judges and the commentator are blind but also some who left a comment on this page......Beautifull........are you kidding me?!

Such a shame, that so excelent riders like Hans use roll-kur. I don’t mind the piaffe accident, but you can see the horse is trained by incorrect training methods. Expecially canter work is very clear to recognise.

in fact what I see is cruel, towards the horse. When I think about the training of this poor animal I shiver

My observations of the ride: the rider is using his spurs with almost every single stride, regardless of gait, coupled with the horse's head position makes this ride extremely unappealing to watch.

Keine Sekunde ohne verspanntes Schweifschlagen, dazu der gequälte Gesichtsausdruck - einfach nur traurig 😢

So painful to watch. I'm wondering where the commentators have their eyes? No, it wasn't beautiful piaff, the horse is STIFF, and that tail! Swishing all the damn time! And the head almost on the horse's chest plus nodding half the time. Poore creature...
Lovely horse, but the rider has too harsh a hand.

I don’t like watching HP. I often try to skip his rides, I always end up feeling bad for his horses. Dream boy has me convinced he hates dressage. And spurs.. He always has this sour look on his face and a very active tail.
Oh and I still don’t understand why the judges award his two tempis with 8s every time. Am I the only one seeing that hindleg?
I feel bad for him. He’s such a talented and gorgeous horse.

I really don't like watching him ride as well. Can't pinpoint what it is that makes me feel bad about him

Time they banned all these pain methods, spurs, rolkur, harsh bits I hate to see these beautiful horses treated like this absolutely disgraceful 😢

I cannot believe what some riders do to these beautiful animals. Do the judges really like performances without any movements teached in classic dressage? Are they blind?

Blinded by money and cancel culture.

I am also wondering if they are blind. Maybe so much time passed when there were really good riders (like decades), that nobody remembers now what it should look like.

There is the strike out, his tail is never not agitated and in the pirouettes he dips very much behind the vertical- he almost nods his head in the canter work.... I just wish the rider would be a bit more giving in the hands.

This horse looks very unhappy. You can tell he carries a grudge through the whole ride. The horse thinks this whole thing is stupid and I agree with him.

It's sad to see the frustration burst with the strike out at 00:26. Dream Boy going right back to his test after the outburst shows what a sweetheart he is. I don't think Hans Peter appreciates him or the other horses he rides.

That wasn’t just a rear, that was a strike.
Shame it’s such a stiff and resistant team. Looks like they could both just take a breath and go out on a long hack to relax.
Those canter pirouettes though were pretty nice.

Better communication and harmony as they got through test. I agree as below that stallion did a strike with that front leg. Dressage scoring is hard to understand when a horse who maybe was a tad less motivated but had no outright signs of disobedience would place behind a horse that so blatantly screwed up and gets third place. Fact horse showed no more misbehavior after that moment saved them. Just my opinion. Missed his turnout that morning and was letting the world know....lol

This totally what is wrong here.. those so called judges in my opinion are just deplorable..if you are really the quality of judging...then you should have stood up your ground and clearly stopped this performance..it is clearly visibsle that horse was in distress..the gabbing mouth open and the acting out, the head weaving and bobbing...wake up for heaven sakes..horse can not tell you they are in pain..they can not talk..they can only convey in body language...it clearly hurting somewhere....a happy horse that loves his or her job will do so very willingly...and look grand doing it...here I am watching this over in America and I can clearly see the distress this horse is in...you as judges should have had first hand of this and excused this team ....not make this performance keep going ...shame on all you so called judges....this should be a horse wellness..not on the rider performance...horse first, he is doing all the work...not that rider....and if in some pain...stop the performance..and if the rider is knowledgeable they of all people should have realized this..and stopped the excersize....and excused him and the horse...terrible horsemanship....

You must be blind or have no clue about dressage or work for Glock. Which one is it?
