John Anderson, to my ears, has the purest voice in classic country music. Not by a little, either: by a long shot. This is the sound of GENUINE country music.
John Anderson is one of my heroes back in 1983 I went with my friend to Washington DC he owned a company called In-N-Out burgers on our way home we were listening to music in the plane and we listened to John Anderson doing interview after they started playing his music my friends started listening to country music when we got home he put together a fundraiser for children and John Anderson was a guest star he converted the warehouse into a barn dance I had the opportunity to meet John I told him that interview that he did with the radio station was why he was there that he converted this man to country music John went on his bus brought me a picture and signed it for me to thank me for introducing him to country music and to be a part of the fundraiser John Anderson is one of my heroes for sure he's very kind and down to earth I still have the picture and I think about it every now and then.
I read once that 'a John Anderson tribute album would be ridiculous. No one could come close to his voice.' But more so, than the voice God blessed him with, John said he just wanted to share his music with the world, and he has. His beautiful heart shows thru in how he treats the fans, and always thanks the staff who work the venues where he plays. A true country gentleman❤
That opening fiddle is OUTRAGEOUS!!! John Anderson and his band are AWESOME!!! I was a 15 y/o "heavy Metal Kid" when this came out and when I heard it on WNGC... My mom's country station out of Athens GA I HAD TO HAVE it!!! I remember what that Cassette tape looks like today !!!!! Great Album!!!!
I'm gonna say a big "hell yes" to that statement!!! John Anderson, in concert, in Iowa, small town out of nowhere, and he did a fabulous, fantastic job. Little county fair at that. I love his voice and music!!!!!!!!!!!
John Anderson was one of the most true Country Boys I've ever seen hit country music! I wish he got more credit look at the f****** passion! that's how I am with my construction work!! There are very few of us left I tip my hat to all them Good Ole Country Boys giving it all they got!
Pamela Raffield it is Pam....you just aren't hearing it on the radio...there's a billion and a half including myself that are fighting our way through these bars and venues with just a shadow of hope that we can get heard...knowing we prolly never will bc we have to do it all on our own...and we keep doing it anyway bc its what we were born to do
@@johnnytoole115 John Anderson and his band puts on a great show. It's pure/real Country Music. If he comes around, close to your town, you definitely need to go to his concert. 😊
this one of my favorite songs that i love to drink my moonshine whiskey to,along with other of john andersons songs.and theres the carter family;banks of the ohio.and the dry hill draggers;the knoxville girl.these songs just makes that moonshine whiskey taste better!
No voice is as authentic as John Anderson's... I mean it's just straight originality.. too bad country doesn't take pride in finding artists like him with that authentic edge anymore..
There must be something in the water down in Florida. So many exceptional artists and bands from there, like John Anderson, Tom Petty, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ray Charles, Allman Brothers, Jim Morrison, Gram Parsons, Stephen Stills, Mel Tillis and many others...
I saw him in when I was stationed in Germany too! I think it was 1991. It was that same tour. I saw him in Augsburg. He talked to us and shook our hands and thanked us for our service. Very cool guy!
This is my cousin and I love his music...I want him to meet my daughter, I've emailed but had no response, but that doesn't suprize me. I would imagine a lot of people would like to meet him.
Perhaps the most under-rated and under-appreciated country music artist ever.
I believe he was never underated... he filled the airwaves in his time...great talent.
Hank 3

I love John Anderson's songs. Country and not ashamed of it. Like to watch him, too. Very entertaining.
I liked Hank Jr.'s version on the Major Moves album. If you haven't heard it. A slow, mournful take on it. Great version also.
I'm gonna say a big "hell yes" to that statement!!! John Anderson, in concert, in Iowa, small town out of nowhere, and he did a fabulous, fantastic job. Little county fair at that. I love his voice and music!!!!!!!!!!!
John Anderson is a Legend of country music I have been listening to him and going to his concert since 1979
