The furthest I could make it is to the "Scans" Folder. After that, it tells me I cannot open the folder. It says I need to have "Read" permissions. I am in fact an "Administrator" and I have both "Read/Write" permissions. However, I am still not make it further than the "Scans" Folder.
open iobit unlocker
click on Add
scroll down to program data
then scroll down to Microsoft
then scroll down to windows defender
then scroll down to scans
then click on history
scroll down to service then click on service
then click on detection history
open up the yellow folders then add the files to iobit then click on unlock and delete
then that's it you're done and deleted
go back to windows security click on virus and threat protection
click on protection history and they should be cleared

@@ste-g6j Legend, thank you
@@ste-g6j Bro you are genius thank you so much ❤😊
I can't delete Scan history and when i try to change permission settings then its shows an access denied pop up any solution
You can only delete the files if you boot in safe mode. But that option has to be enabled in Windows first to make the process extra fun... You can look up how to do it.
Edit: the "Detections.log" file is still not deletable, but it's editable with Notepad. It's a simple text file, so just do a CTRL-A -> Delete and save the file.
that just shows what a rubbish app it is. why is there no option to delete threats from within the scan itself?
Successfully done👍🏼
why did you make this video when your trick did not work???
In my system working check any corruption sfc /scannow hit thisin cmd tell me results
This video was obviously being recorded live while being read from another source of information such as another website. The person making the video did not expect these results, but decide to place the video online anyways just to get some "Views." The scan of "sfc /scannow" has nothing to do with this type of situation.
this doesn't work. You can't even access that folder unless you are in safe mode.
Same here. The furthest I could make it is to the "Scans" Folder. After that, it tells me I cannot open the folder. It says I need to have "Read" permissions. I am in fact an "Administrator" and I have both "Read/Write" permissions. However, I am still not make it further than the "Scans" Folder.
Scans It does not open for me
1. Create a system restore point
2. Enter in safe mode
3. Delete the contects of C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service folder
4. Switch back to normal mode
doesnt work
I can't delete it because of permissions, how can I do it?

NOHOW, there is no chance you can delete it.
I can't access the scan folder, it says I don't have permission even though I am the administrator.
same problem but doesn't let me delete the folder
Take ownership of folder
@@HowToFixTech How do I do that? it says that the Administrator and me the User and System has full privilege.

@@nzorakis Ok thanks.
Boot into safe mode to get permission to delete the files and it will work :)
It doesn't solve anything, the only way to delete the history files, you have to download a "tool that completely disables win defender" and you can delete the files in peace
Kn si language me gaali khaega
mine does not show anything like this i am sick of this Bs computer deleting my exe mod loader for skyrim
thats fine just a problem that it will not allox access to scans

@@ste-g6j what is iobit unlocker? i didn't find it on my laptop
Why would you want to delete the Windows defender history? Just curious.
For cleaning data and threads
Do you mean threats? sorry lol just making sure @@HowToFixTech
Because it's a buggy mess. It will still cry about files that have been added to the exceptions, that doesn't even exist anymore on the machine. And you can click on any option, the messages will not disappear.
I have multiple apps that were completely uninstalled from my computer and no longer exist on my computer. For example, I completely removed Magix 2013 video editing from my computer. But, the threat from Magix 2013 still shows up. At least some part of this remained on the computer. I simply want to remove this from the Protection History.
yea same with me scans will not open at all i have fully reformat my pc fully thinking that would fix the problem and all bout i keep getting the same shit
